My wife and I had driven from Wilmington to Raleigh to speak with the only person in that area (from Raleigh to the coast) that does reversals. That doctor was rude, disrespectful, and crass... we felt hopeless but we both decided we would seek another option. After going by my mother-in-law's office, while we were all disappointed, we were both looking for options online and both came across Dr. Daniel at the same time and the stories and uplifting messages were exactly what we were looking for, like a spotlight shining down on that phone number to call! The receptionist was very compassionate and said that since we had driven that far, she would make sure he stayed in the office after he finished the procedure he was working on if we wanted to head that way for a consult (same day!!). We were never rushed or pushed for a commitment, but Dr. Daniel spent nearly an hour with us and even prayed with us before we left. Within a few days we found resources to make it possible and every single person on staff was amazing! We knew we were in great hands but they kept us encouraged throughout the process and remained compassionate even after the appointment and any time I called with questions! It took us a little while to get my motility back to normal, but my regular urologist put me on Clomid, which boosted my motility from almost 0 to normal within 3 months!! We used Dr. Daniel in 2011. He is not a touchy feely doctor. He is straight to the point and matter of fact. This is not necessarily a negative. It just depends on what kind of doctor you want. My personal experience is that his staff was only friendly until they got our money. Surgery was less than two hours and recovery was..okay. When we called the office with complications after a few days, they told us just to use ice and pain meds. Six weeks down the road we were semi-successful but still having "complications," which the office and doctor blew off. When I say blew off, I mean, I called with our concerns yet again, and was told the same thing as before, "That's normal." We never received a follow up call from the doctor. I'm not sure where the break down in communication was, but there apparently was one. Eight months later, we found out the surgery had "failed" completely, most likely due to scar tissue building up. When I called the office, not only did the receptionist seem flippant, she just quoted me a re-do on the surgery at $1000 more than we paid the first time. No-"I'm sorry it didn't work out for you." No- "Let me forward your results to the doctor and have him give you a call." She was unconcerned and ready for us to pay round two. You would think after the first $7000, they would offer a reduced price. Although vasectomy reversal is definitely not something everyone needs, if you are considering it I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Dr. Daniel and his staff!! We had great experience with Dr. Daniel and his staff today. Staff were very approachable. The initial consultation with Dr. Daniel was full of useful information. I learned so much about the anatomy, the technique and the procedure. Dr. Daniel was very delightful too and this definitely help calm the pre-op nerve. He should think about being a stand up comedian if he decides to retire from practicing medicine. I also like the fact that Dr. Daniel is very straight forward, fact-based and honest. He's not touch feely, which works out great for us. The doctor helped me to take my hubby downstairs himself after the operation and let us know we can contact him through his cell if there's an emergency. We hope we have great results. The important thing is to follow post op instructions. So my hubby will be stay in bed for the next couple of days and we will keep fingers crossed after that. There are many reasons why a couple still can't conceive and it's not fair to blame it on the doctor. The office environment is very clean and serene. I would recommend to have your VR done by Dr. Daniel. It definitely worths the 5 hour drive for us. read more

My husband and I feel very deceived by Carolina Vasectomy Reversal. We had originally had a telephone conversation with the doctor and placed our deposit in March 2020. We were very hesitant to commit while it looked like the COVID-19 pandemic was ramping up, but we were assured over and over again by the office staff that-- if we put in the deposit-- we could reschedule the surgery as many times as necessary for the duration of the pandemic. Over the months, we had to reschedule a couple of times. The area in which we live has been particularly strict with COVID travel, alternating between mandatory shelter-in-place and quarantine for residents returning from high-risk areas (like South Carolina). In September, I called to reschedule, as we were still experiencing mandatory travel restrictions in our area. I specifically asked the staff if I had to put a new date on the books, and they said yes BUT I could still change it if the restrictions persisted. I hesitantly rescheduled for the end of November; because they told me that was the furthest in the future that they were scheduling, and I had to keep putting a date on the books in order to keep my deposit active. In early November, our area increased its restrictions on residents traveling to places like South Carolina. I contacted Carolina Vasectomy Reversal as soon as I learned about it to hopefully reschedule for after the holidays. Despite me sending them evidence of our area's travel restrictions, they denied my request, saying that we had already rescheduled twice, and I was not giving them a good enough reason to reschedule it. They initially denied it based on a misunderstanding of our travel restrictions. When I corrected them, they basically said it didn't matter-- and the only excuse they would accept is a doctor's note saying my husband was ill. (It was clear that no matter what we said, they were going to be denying our request. And we didn't want to get a false doctor's note-- that wouldn't have felt right for us.) They said that if we didn't show for the November date, we would forfeit our deposit. Not only that, but if we later decided to reschedule, both the deposit and the overall price of the surgery would be increasing quite considerably. My husband and I were flabbergasted. Because of the travel restrictions in our area, we had no other choice than to forfeit the deposit. We will not be rescheduling with them. We feel lied to-- having been lulled into placing a deposit amidst a pandemic, being given multiple reassurances that our deposit was secure and refundable (notwithstanding having to reschedule), and then ultimately being swindled out of it without any forewarning. They make sure you know exactly what is supposed to happen, how long it's going to take, and let's you know exactly what happened during the surgery. My husband had his surgery this recent June 2016. Dr Daniel and his staff were very kind and professional and really went out of their way to make sure we were okay. Dr. Daniel described his way of doing the surgery and why and how he learned what makes his surgery routine more proficient than what else is offered. He did very well to describe and notify me as what to expect as well which really made me feel more confident in taking care of my husband after the surgery. He suggested quite a bit to never hesitate to call with any questions and even after 3 weeks we had to call him and he was so kind and thorough with answering our questions. Dr Daniel also even asked where we were staying and suggested some good restaurants for me to get food for us once my husband became a little more coherent. He even helped put my husband in the car and gave us a hug and wished us the best of luck! We just started trying a few weeks ago, so we will update as to if we get pregnant or not! Regardless of the outcome, Dr. Daniel and his staff are amazing and I am so glad that we chose his facility for my husbands surgery. My only suggestion would be to have small snacks for the wives/family waiting while they are in surgery. My husband could not eat the morning of, and I didn't get the chance to grab any food either and I was starving afterwards but didn't want to leave my husband once we got back to the hotel so I could keep an eye on him.
