Sarah Miller, NP was dismissive and condescending with me. I had been going to this practice for years and had never cancelled an appointment. I had to cancel an appointment on June 1st because my friend died the week prior, I found out late Friday that her funeral was on my appointment day. Monday was a holiday so I called the next day, Tuesday the day of my appointment. The receptionist said I would have to pay a $75 cancellation fee and I told her the circumstances, she didn't seem concerned but placed me on hold, when she got back she said, "you have a credit of $70 and some change, so you would only owe $4. I explained my situation again, this time tearful, just emotional give the circumstances of the sudden death and I didn't think it was right for me to be penalized for something unexpected and beyond my control. She then said, well they will probably waive the charge and call you back to reschedule. I ended up calling back the following week to reschedule because no one called me back. The receptionist mentioned the $75 fee I would have to pay and then when I explained my situation she put Sarah Miller, NP on the phone. She said I only owed $4 since I had a credit of $70. I told her that that was not right because it was unexpected (my friend passing) and even though it was a credit, that is still my money, so it being a credit didn't make the charge any better. I have never missed an appointment in 6 years. I said I didn't intent on rescheduling my appointment. This is when she showed how uncaring she was. She was dismissive and condescending and said, "Welll that 's our policy, the policy that you signed." I said I would have called but the day before my appointment was a holiday and when I found out Friday y'all were closed so I called as soon as I could the morning of the appointment to reschedule. Sarah Miller, NP was not hearing me, she continued to be dismissive and condescending. I asked her if she could sent the credit to me and she said no we already applied it to your cancellation. I got quiet, kind of in shock! Then with an attitude she said, "What do you want to do ma'am?" I then said well I don't wanna schedule an appointment right now, cause I don't think this is right. After I hung up, I decided to start looking for another gynecologist, due to Sarah Miller's lack of empathy, I would not feel comfortable allowing her to provide my care anymore. And judging from her behavior that day, I know she does not care about me seeking another provider. So they get a one from me. read more
