Caroline is an amazing realtor! As first time home buyers, we were pretty nervous, unfamiliar with the process, and also very very picky. For our first meeting, she took the time to explain the whole buying process and everything we could expect, which definitely helped us understand what we were getting into. 4 years ago, we were looking for a house to buy in San Francisco and a friend of ours told me that they knew a realtor. But you know what, we don't (in general) like "realtors". But anyway we met with Caroline. Then we realized we didn't want a realtor but we did need a person (nice one), who was competent, and proficient in the business of real estate. Caroline worked as a buyer's agent for us, and helped us purchase a beautiful home in Noe Valley in a very competitive market (there were 3 other offers). As our lifestyle progressed (into running Triathlons), we wanted to find a home where we could build an olympic size swimming pool, and also wanted a really nice home office with views. Since our requirements were very many and very particular, it took us over a year and half to find the right property, and my wife and I almost gave up. Caroline said "patience always pays off". Really? Sometimes it does, but not always. But now that we have our new dream house in Novato, I am starting to believe her statement. What is the realtor's job? I don't have a exact answer for that but it really involves professionalism, empathy, local contacts and charm (Oh, speaking of charm, when we call contractors (painter, gardener, carpenter etc), it is sometime difficult to get a call back, but when she calls, somehow they come (on time)). I've been lazy in writing this review, but I can't express more what a pleasure Caroline was to work with and cannot recommend her more! I was a first time homebuyer looking to stop throwing away my rent every month and purchase something in SF. Before starting the process, I was a little pessimistic on what types of properties I would be able to afford in this market. Caroline was really understanding of my concerns but we were able to find some really amazing properties! Her vast experience in the SF and Bay Area real estate market is a HUGE plus. Caroline was really able to dial in to what the actual selling price of a property would be, because come on, nothing in SF goes for asking price anymore. And she can gauge if a property would get multiple offers and how I could make mine more competitive. Also since she's very experienced, she has great rapport with other agents and they express a desire to work with her. Caroline goes above and beyond for her clients. I never felt as if I wasn't getting enough attention. She pretty much made me feel like I was her only client with how attentive and responsive she is. Caroline was so easy to reach via phone, text or email and kept me up-to-date on everything that was happening in our deals. I ended up submitting offers on 3 different properties and never felt out of the loop. It felt like we had a true partnership and that she was invested in my happiness. Also Caroline has so many other connections for services that you might need. For my mortgage, I first went to my bank and did a quick Google search for different ones. For me being a first-time-buyer, I really wanted an itemized list of all of my expenses and what my monthly payments would be including any tax credits/deductions, which the banks weren't able to give me. Caroline had lots of recommendations for brokers and I ended up being financed through one of them! My experience with him was also stellar, but that should be reserved for a different review. The condo that I ultimately bought was in need of some updated electrical work and Caroline was great at scheduling an electrician to look at the work and give an estimate which we then asked the seller for a credit. I am absolutely in love with my condo and I know I couldn't have done it without Caroline's help and diligence. She was there at closing and has even followed up with me to see how I'm doing. And side note, during this whole process my apartment building caught fire (how very SF...) and I was displaced for a few months. Caroline guided my wife and I (new SF residents and first time home buyers) through the sometimes confusing, always competitive San Francisco market.
