I took my Chihuahua here once and ONLY once. The owner was so rude, I was shocked how she talked to me, and her staff. I had never met her before so no misunderstandings from the past first time customer and LAST. When we left their was a worker outside who told me my doggie was excellent and did so well. So you may say you are number one in the Ozarks, but I am thinking that is a mistake if you count the bad reviews you have received. read more

I left a review 4 years ago when we had Buddy. He has since passed but, our new rescue dogs, Rhythm and Blue, love Caroline's just as much as Buddy did. They are wonderful with our "kids" and even give them meds when necessary. When we go to Branson we will ALWAYS take the kids to Caroline's. Price is still fabulous too. read more

I used these folks almost twenty years ago when I arrived in Nixa! They are still in business for a reason, it's just that simple. I really wanted to take them with me, but downtown St Louis is not really a pet friendly place on my own, plus I think Rocket has some outstanding warrants, so there's that! I had brought her some Canolli, but they were garbage, so they'll wait for Ravioli dog treats! I'm just glad we're all back home safe & sound! Our dogs love when they stay here. All of the staff is very kind and sweet and there is lots of activities available for the dogs. They get to play outside with other dogs and even get the option to have a tv. We highly recommend bringing your pet here. The staff even takes the time to have learned our dogs by name. read more

Both of my dogs got kennel cough and one progressed to bacterial pneumonia!!! The other had to be taken to the vet on our way home because he was so sick! I wouldn't send my fur babies here until they make some major changes! I am a pretty practical person and understand the risks of sending my animals to be boarded but I didn't like the way that Caroline's handled our situation. When I had to book with them last minute I asked if they had had any kennel cough occurrences and I was told no. Fast forward to when they called to tell me that both of my boys had it I was told that they have 2 or so cases a week. This was frustrating because I have a senior dog that is high risk and I had specifically asked them about it! When I arrived I was concerned about the facility immediately. Everything is congested and doesn't allow for movement or adequate air flow. I wish so much that I had just turned around there! The thing that bothers me the most is that they kept talking about kennel cough as if it's the same as seasonal allergies. It's not. I have 2 very sick puppies now. They are on steroids, cough suppressants, and antibiotics. My senior dog lost 8lbs while he was in their "care" and my smaller dog is now battening pneumonia. Even once they figured out my dogs had kennel cough they kept letting them socialize! And every picture I was sent or that was posted on Facebook I could tell my boys hated it. I'm so sad that I took my babies here and put them at risk this way Bottom line is the facility is dirty, cramped, and the staff are in over their heads. Just avoid this place all together until they make some big changes. read more

We brought our dog in for doggy daycare for the day while we were visiting from outside the area. The property communicated well prior to arrival and were very accommodating to our nervous dog, being it her first time at the facility. I called a few hours after drop off and they were able to report how our dog had adjusted to the new surroundings. We picked up our dog at the end of the day and gave anecdotal moments that had happened during the day. Our dog seemed tired and happy. read more

AWFUL!! Both of my dogs are on 2 types of antibiotics after their stay there. If you dont want your dog to get sick and pay a ton in Vet bills, stay FAR from this kennel. My Vet says most of his patients that get sick after boarding say they were boarded at Caroline's. My one dog was up a lot last night with congestion. She's 2 and has ZERO underlying hearth problems. My poor Senior dog died while staying there. He had heart disease and maybe it was just his time, but there is a part of me now that wonders if he got sick and because of his heart, he died. That Ill never know. I do know this, they SUCK at compassion. How his death was handled was very matter of fact. Caroline may think she's compassionate, but I don't. They didn't make a paw print with a simple ink pad and paper. No note of condolences, no follow up call to check on us, no ANYTHING. Handed us our frozen baby in a bag in the lobby. Didn't even ask us how we'd like do the handing over. THIS WAS MY BABY! We'd been buddies for 14 years. If you LOVE your dogs....just don't. read more

I have never wrote a review before today. I Have been taking my dogs here for years. Since the new ownership over the past year I have noticed some changes... and not good ones. I picked up my dogs today only for me to notice once they were in the car that they were covered in pee and had skin breakdown from laying in urine. Which I have noticed from earlier reviews my dogs are not the first that this has happened to. So as I notice the smell of urine and breakdown spots on the ride home, I call to get their side of things on what's going on. It's past 11 so I get no answer. So I leave a review explaining how I was disappointed, knowing I could change the review for the better at a later time once it was addressed. I soon get a call from the owner who called me a "coward" for not talking to him before I posted my review. Also at this time he stated he would "publicly attack" me since "that is what I did to him and his business." I was very thrown off by the whole phone call and did not think I would ever get treated this way by someone who owns a business and wants to bring in more clientele. I was just hoping to get this addressed, change my review and not have to worry about my dogs while we're on vacation. I wanted to give them another chance even though friends and family do not bring their pets here for the same reason. Instead I was told the reason they were smelling of urine and had sores was due to my "poor training"and "training them to pee on each other." Also stated that my dogs come in smelling of urine and with sores, which I find ironic due to them having baths before they were boarded. Instead of the problem being fixed it was turned into everything I had done wrong as a paying customer. I would never expect this from a business owner (to be publicly attacked.) I guess writing a $500 dollar check will only get you unprofessionalism, defended neglect and "publicly attacked." We will not be coming back. Would not recommend taking your pets here, the neglect your pets experience will be defended by the owner. The customer is not always right at Caroline's, as you can see from earlier comments on customer reviews. read more

We have used Caroline's Pampered Pet Motel twice, and we had bad experiences both times to the point where I simply can't recommend this pet motel. The first time our dog stayed here, when he came home (after 8 days), he had an awful limp and wouldn't put any weight on one of his hind legs at all. I called to inquire about this, but they had no idea that he was limping at all. Despite that first experience, we decided to try again. The second time, our dog stayed at Caroline's Pampered Pet Motel for two nights. When we picked him up, we were given back the container of food that we had given them, and it was completely full. They didn't tell us why, and just let us come to our own conclusions. Three days later, I got a call from the owner (Caroline) saying that while my dog was there, another dog "had a hold" of my dog, and so my dog was separated from the other dogs and was not allowed to play with the other dogs. I said, "so, another dog attacked my dog?" She said, "no, she had a hold of him." WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?! If another dog "has a hold" of my dog, that means that that dog is biting my dog and not letting go! That's an attack in my book! And yet my dog was the one that was taken away from the other dogs because "he was growling at her." I asked if my dog ever bit or attacked that dog or any other dog, and she said no. And yet my dog was not allowed to play with other dogs after that. Since she had called me, I asked her about the food and why we were given an entire container of food back. I asked if they gave him their food, if he simply wasn't eating, or if they just neglected to feed him. She didn't know, but she said that some dogs don't eat the first couple of days when they come to stay. This should have been communicated to us when we picked up our dog. The play areas are very small and crowded - far more crowded than other places we've been to that actually cost less money. Overall, I was very dissatisfied with the accommodations that our dog received at Caroline's Pampered Pet Motel. read more

I left my two dogs at Caroline's about two months ago. I typically only board my dogs a couple of times a year and am therefore VERY careful about where they board. Caroline's was very clean and well maintained. It had a friendly atmosphere and all the other "boarders" seemed to be content and well cared for. You could tell that the staff really loved dogs too. One of my dogs has arthritis pretty badly in his back legs. The staff was very considerate and discussed a plan on how best to take him outside and what level of activity is appropriate. While away I called and checked on them and the person answering the phone knew immediately which dogs were mine. I found that to be impressive. And they were able to give anecdotal stories about what they had been up too. I would highly reccomend Caroline's Pampered Motel. read more

Caroline's in Ozark is the best. I would recommend to everyone. The team is beyond great- so nice and professional- and treat your fur babies like their own. Clean and organized and will give you a tour if just checking it out. My husky goes to daycare there regularly and this is where I board her when I am out of town. She is always excited when I mention going to doggy daycare. Try it out - you will not be disappointed and never have to worry about your pet. read more

Boarded our five year old cat, Willow, at Caroline's for a few days and was very pleased. We will definitely be using again.

I have been using Caroline's pampered pets for four years. I have two older small dogs that are very spoiled and I'm very particular. I have zero worries while we're gone and I know they are getting lots of love and attention. Sometimes we are gone ten days at a time. I've never had any issues. If your pups need a medicine, they don't charge extra to administer it. I've visited where they are kept and it's a large area and very clean. The dogs get to play almost all day. They are separated into groups according to age, activity level and temperament. I'm grateful for Caroline's where they know your pups by name. They care for my pups as I do. read more

Whenever I go out of town or know I'm not going to be home most of the day, I always take my dog (Mac) to Caroline's Pampered Pet. Mac is a rescue dog. He came from an abusive situation; therefore, he is slow to warm up to people. At Caroline's, he feels comfortable with the all female staff. He gets to play and have nap time instead of being cooped up in a kennel like other boarding places. Moreover, I do not have to pay extra for my dog to be able to play like at other places. The staff always makes it a point to tell me how much they love my dog and how well he plays with the other dogs. This makes me feel at ease knowing my dog is enjoying himself. I was in town visiting my parents a few weeks ago with my two active young labs in tow. My parents have puppies at home too, so we decided to drop Max & Annie off at Caroline's for day care for 5 days in a row. The staff at Caroline's was amazing. They got to know the dogs and they took photos of them so we could check on them every day. After the first day, they recognized our pups by name and welcomed them with excitement each morning. They took extra effort to try to get them to eat (road trip from AZ left them a little out of sorts) and they played all day and came home exhausted and happy. The price for both dogs was $23 per day, which was incredibly reasonable for the 8-10 hours our dogs spent there! The drop off and pick up hours are great for any schedule. Max & Annie will certainly be back next time they are back in Ozark, and I would recommend Caroline's for day care to anyone in the area! read more

My dogs absolutely love this place! It is so open! My pups feel at home here. They take such good care of my babies! My dogs are ways kept safe. They have play areas that are air conditioned for the hot days my pups had to stay there. They have an outdoor play Area that is completely covered so it's out of the elements. They always make sure they are fed, even though they trouble eating the first couple days, they made sure my pups didn't starve. I highly recommend this place for everyone who's going on a trip and needs to board their dogs. They make sure they feel at home and loved. So happy! read more

Now my dog is an only he loves going to Caroline's for some play time. I drop him off on my way to work and pick him up 12 hours later. He pulls so hard to get in the door and he is off without a backward glance. I go peek in on him and he is always having a blast with the other dogs. He is a hyper dog but when he comes home he is out for the count! I have recommended Carolines's to many people. There is always plenty of staff. It is like a camp for dogs. They have structured play time (with supervision), nap times, and food times. It's a great place. Friendly staff and clean facility. read more

I've been taking my dogs to Caroline's for a while now. I always make reservations for daycare as I work long hours. I usually make them a month in advance as they have cut back recently on how many dogs they accommodate for daycare. Out of the blue, I was told daycare was no longer being offered effective immediately. Again, I had reservations a month in advance. She did not reason with me or anything. I've spend thousands over the past years. Again, I asked can I at least finish out a few more of my reservations as I have no where to take them with such sort notice. She said "no." I've never known an establishment to treat their customers like this. Usually, places will give you time to make other accommodations. Other people I talked to where treated the exact same way. It was appalling. Well fast forward a week later, I find another place that I LOVE! It's bigger with more room for them to play in. It's clean and the play grass does not have rips and holes. My dogs don't come home soaked in water and stinky. It is slightly more expensive but completely worth it. I guess you say can it was a blessing in disguise. Caroline is a terrible business owner and does not have good practice. read more

BUYER BEWARE: A newcomer to Caroline's, I phoned in advance about the cost of doggie daycare. The staff told me the "all-day" rate is $15. The website mentions "a modest fee" for a bath before the dog comes home. When I dropped off my dog the next morning, the staff again quoted me an "all-day" rate of $15. I asked them to give my dog a bath, said my daughter would pick him up at 5 PM, and requested to pay the bill up front so she wouldn't have to worry about it. I paid the $25 in cash (because credit cards are not accepted). No receipt was proffered. I assumed $15 was the all-day rate and the additional $10 was the "modest fee" for a bath. Later, my daughter called to say she was being charged an additional $20 to pick up our dog. The explanation was the bath alone cost $25. I immediately called the establishment to clarify the charges. Though the manager had gone for the day, she had left a note on our account, directing her staff to charge an additional $15 because our dog had "stayed so long." The staff confirmed the $25 cost for a bath, with an extra $5 thrown in to trim the dewclaws. That morning, I had asked to pay the entire bill; I had left believing I had done so. I was very clear about the services I wanted and what time the dog would be picked up, and I paid the $25 I was charged. If the staff miscalculated, that is not my fault. It is my fault, however, for overlooking numerous red flags: no list of prices posted on the website, no receipt, and no clear definition of "all-day" and "modest fee." Caroline's could have written off the extra $20: Then they might have avoided losing my future business, which would have amounted to much more. And they unnecessarily embarrassed and inconvenienced my daughter, who arrived to pick up the dog, believing the bill had already been taken care of. From this classic cautionary tale of "buyer beware," I have learned my lesson about ever doing business with this outfit again. read more

Great prices and facility!!! We've tried 5 or 6 boarding facilities in the Springfield area and this is the best!

My dog is 15 and deaf, but is in excellent health and thinks he's a puppy. We recently moved and the wonderful kennel we had used is an hour south. I needed something in the Branson/Ozark area to use when we head north or to the airport. I took a day and dropped in at many kennels. Caroline's Pampered Pet Motel was definitely my top choice. Forrest spent 3 days here and loved it. It was so nice to see pictures on Facebook of him playing with the other dogs. Staff was very professional and welcoming. It is obvious they take the time to get to know your dog and put he/she with the right dogs for playtime. I had him bathed and nails trimmed while he was here and they did an excellent job. It is such a relief to have found Caroline's and know I can take Forrest here and he will be happy and well cared for. Thank goodness Forrest was tired when I picked him up. He slept right through the huge storm that night and he is usually terrified. I will definitely be taking Forrest here on a regular basis even if I'm not leaving town, so that he has the opportunity to play with others. I'm a very happy dog mom!! read more

We have taken our dogs twice to this kennel. First time, we were contacted, while they were there, that a virus was going around and our dogs caught it. They took them to the vet and were put on antibiotics. This second time, we picked up our dogs on Monday. One of our dogs has been vomiting with diarrhea since that night. Took her to the vet today and she is now on IV fluids and antibiotics. Taking another dog back to the vets tonight because she has now started with the same symptoms. This kennel has now cost us over $500 in vet bills. BEWARE!! read more

I went to pick up my dog after 2 days boarding and requesting my dog be groomed. When I arrived, they tried to give me the wrong dog. When I told them it wasn't my dog, they argued with me and then tried to go ahead and give my dog a bath and groom him and still charge me for all of that. I said that would not be necessary and that I would just take my dog. Do you think they tried to give me a discount after screwing this up and then arguing with me? Nope! Well, that will be the last time I take my dog there. If you're looking for a place to take your dog, this is not the place. read more

We took our pups to Caroline's for the first time because my husband needed surgery and our usual kennel was full. We were not happy with the facility, the way we were hurried in and out, the way our pups were treated as numbers, (they didn't even care to know their names). When we picked up our pups we were advised our german shepherd paws were sore from the peet gravel they use in their runs and said this is normal. He limped for days, barely able to put his back paws to the floor and when he did he whined. They were high priced...over twice the rate of our usual kennel and they charged extra for things like bathing them the day we pick them up..$10 for this as opposed to our usual kennel does this for free! They charge extra to have a TV in the room...$2.00/ per night...this is also available at our usual kennel for free. You would think with it being our first time there they would have given us a tour of the facility but this wasn't even suggested. Again we were hurried in and hurried out even though there were no other customers waiting. We were not pleased with this facility and will never use it again. read more
