But nope. Dr. Mitchell turned what should have been a gum-numbing ordeal into something bordering on... fun? I don't know what kind of dental sorcery she's practicing, but I actually laughed during a cleaning. Either I've finally snapped or she's just that good. Her hands are so steady, I'm convinced she moonlights as a brain surgeon or Jenga champion. And her chair-side manner? Think Mr. Rogers, but with floss and a dental drill. Even when she was explaining cavities like I was five years old she made it sound like an adventure: "We're just going to gently clean out this little sugar goblin's hideout." Ma'am. What? AVOID THIS DENTIST! This is the worst business that I have…read moredealt with in my 50+ years of life in morgantown. I recently brought my family to sorriso dental and it did not go well. We had some assessments done and we needed some work, which, in its entirety, was considerably more than we could afford. We asked to break up the work into pieces so that we could maximize our health insurance coverage and make sure we would have enough monthly room in our budget. They said ok and gave us "pre-approved" estimates from our insurance. We did a couple procedures ok, but then it all came crashing down. Sorisso stated that the insurance did not pay entirely for one of the pre-approved procedures. They were off by a large amount. I called in and spoke with Joyce, the financial manager. Avoid this woman. She was very rude and very smug. Told us it wasn't their problem to know how my insurance worked, but they would help us by putting us on a payment plan. This is exactly what I tried to avoid in the beginning. We live on a budget and only have x dollars we can spend. I asked to speak to someone higher, which was the owner Labritz. She cared even less than Joyce. They told me they put in an appeal to the insurance company. We immediately called the insurance company. They told us that Sorisso had changed a code from the pre-approved amount, which used different materials for the work, and to call them. We called sorriso and they told us that it was the insurance company that changed the code. With both of them pointing at each other, that left me with a huge bill that Joyce now wanted payment for, which was higher than we could afford in our budget. The appeal was denied. That's just great. She would only extend out 6 months. Up to this, we had paid every bill in it's entirety, every time it was due. Out of all the businesses that I have dealt with in over 50 years, this one made me feel the worst. I didn't get any sense of community, or concern for folks that might be struggling on tight budgets with children. AVOID THIS DENTIST!!
