Came here for an event on Saturday and it was initially pretty empty but it did get very crowded quickly. You can tell people definitely take this skating thing serious. Felt like I was in the movie ATL and fighting for my life in here, will NOT be back. I've skated before but I am no pro and I will admit that, but I didn't know I was in the damn derby! There were people literally skating within centimeters of you on purpose to try and make you fall. Not to mention it was rather hot in there and peoples wind wasn't smelling too fresh. (If you can't skate, I don't suggest taking a bathroom break with your skates on because, well yeah, use your imagination. Not to mention the floor is slippery as all hell in there) There was not anyone behind the snack bar for quite some time and then when she did come over, it was like she was under too much pressure. (Not sure how, the oven wasn't even working) so we could only get drinks (Luckily we brought our own skates because the way those people were sweating and smelling, no thank you) If YOU CAN skate && I mean SKATE SKATE (you know I mean business because I said it twice) then definitely give it a try. It's not a beginner friendly rink by any means. (No bars to hold on to or any order at all) There was an older woman and man in there getting their money honey, right in the middle of the rink. This place is great! The bars they have for inexperienced skaters to push around are super helpful. Food was good, staff were excellent!

My daughter has been skating here often on for over four years. We are there regularly, and I am always impressed with how they prioritize safety. Those who skate too fast or use skate mates inappropriately can endanger other skaters. I appreciate that they have a ref out in the floor most sessions keeping it safe for all skaters. Snack bars has great fast food options and is really reasonably priced. Saturday morning skate lessons are really well run and have many levels for kids to grow their skills quickly. Coaches are fantastic and supportive. We've also had a few birthday parties here and those are always a blast! A private rental is the way to go! You can invite anyone you'd like and not have to worry about only having enough space for half the kids in class. Super reasonable, especially if you book a weeknight party. We started skating during COVID at Saturday learn to skate. We found it open to all abilities and all ages. It was very inclusive!!! One of our favorite places to take our kids is here to skate and play the arcade games. Open skate can be very busy with all ages and all abilities. The staff is very good about making sure the skate floor is orderly and safe for all to skate. We also have had a private party and it has been lots of fun and very reasonably priced. read more

Just celebrated my daughter's 7th birthday in 3/27 and was blown away by their outstanding venue and level of exceptional service! I'm still getting texts from my guests saying the party was extraordinary!! We chose "The Super Private Birthday Party" package for 50 people and purchased a few add-ons, Food Deals (5 pizza's, 5 pitchers soda, lemonade, fruit punch) Chix Fingers, Veggie Platter and the skate-mate package as we had a bunch of little kids new to skating! Food was delicious, my mother said it was the best pizza ever! Charlene and her staff were super friendly, accommodating and always had a smile on their face! While the package comes with party invitations, place settings etc. I chose to bring my own. Since I only had 15 minutes to set-up (completely normal with a venue like this) I was a little worried but the on-site team was amazing going above and beyond helping me set up and implement all the personalized touches I had organized!! 2 hrs. goes by very quickly but the team had a perfect cadence for food service, singing happy birthday and serving cake, cupcakes and ice cream to kids & the adults. Not only did the kids have a blast roller skating, roller blading and playing in the arcade, but even the adults had fun, bringing us back to our younger years!! Thank you again to Charlene and the exceptional staff, you really made my daughter feel like a birthday princess and I am just so impressed by the quality of your venue and your outstanding service!! Recently held my sons 8th bday party there. From the time we arrived until the time we left we felt unwelcome. The staff were rude, inattentive and not helpful. They were late with our pizza for our party because they had another party were all going crazy to help but still kept us to our time. At the end of the party, they turned the lights on and started cleaning before we were done. Not one time did they check on us and ask if we needed anything. At the very end they told us that we needed to leave so they could prepare for the evening. They close at 4:30 until the evening. They started rushing us out at 3:45. On top of that, they played music from a radio on a station that was bit diverse. When the Cupid shuffle song came on one of the staff stated they won't be playing that song anymore. I went on a Sunday it was from 2:00 PM - 4:30 PM May 30, got there right at 2:00 PM waited in line it took awhile it was $12.00 dollars I had my own skates started skating @ 2:30 PM I figured I would get a pizza and a drink went over to the concession stand the young woman said we are waiting for the pizza oven to warm up ????? I'm thinking it's 2:30 PM maybe you should started warming the oven up @ 1:45 PM ??? just a thought paid her she said come back in 10 minutes ten minutes go by nope not ready yet .....come back another 10 minutes nope almost though finally for the third time ready it was about 30 minutes for the worst slice of pizza I ever had, and guess what no place to sit they only had a few tables to sit but people had their jackets, shoes etc, on them so eat while standing up. Their were @ 20 people in line looking to get rental skates only 1 person at that counter really.........?? they have lockers 50 cents took my money didn't work so on to another locker. Since their was basically no place to put on your roller skates people were putting them on the edge the rink talk about dangerous !! also not to mention no skate guards on the rink in case someone gets hurt if you fall and get hurt your on your own.....I left at 3:30 PM I couldn't take it no more I hope senior management sees this their needs to be some major changes. read more

I have been coming here since I was little and just moved to the town a couple years ago. I thought it would be great to have my daughters 6th birthday here with all of her friends and classmates. The day comes, we arrive and the power is out. I had to tell my daughter her birthday wasn't happening. Thankfully the woman (manager/owner I'm assuming) had made arrangements for the whole party to head down the street to papa Gino's. The party was saved! We redirected everyone and got a bunch of free passes so now we will be going there much more often. Even maybe bringing a friend with us each time. I went here for my nephew's birthday party recently. I haven't been to a roller skating place for a long time but the place had a 80s style vibe to it. We had to setup for my nephew's birthday party but there was no one at the ticketing window. We had to go inside the arena area to look for a staff member to find out when we could setup. We only had like 10 minutes to setup before the party started. For the party, the cafe at the roller skating center gave us pizza, chicken wings, and fries and pitchers of soda. The food was average. There was also no air conditioning at the center so it felt very warm inside. read more

This place is clean, staff are friendly and helpful. It is a roller rink, a lot of teens, little kids, it can get a little dangerous, due to the older kids not paying attention to the fact there are little ones, just learning. As my 12 year old said, skate at your own risk! All in all it is still a fun place for kids and adults who enjoy skating. read more

Had my daughters first real birthday party here, she turned 7. Between covid and snow she always misses out on a successful party until this time! Everyone had a great time and you can use your own device for a playlist which was awesome. You can request ahead of time to food an cake last which I would suggest doing. I didn't know that initially but depending on the size of your group, and honestly I think it would be the same either way it's awkward to skate then have pizza and then skate and have cake. We had a private birthday party for our daughter at Carousel Family Fun last night. We were very impressed with how clean and well maintained the rink and building were. Upfront communication with Charlene and planning were great. The staff was very friendly and helpful and everyone had a blast. Situations arose where people found out he wasn't having a party due to so much loss the last couple years and just lack of people to come. And this whole party was put together for him last minute. Must I post one star? The owner has a serious attitude problem. Let's start by pointing out that the web site states, children 16 and under must have an adult with them and can not be dropped off. Fine, that's their policy. My daughter, 18 and my niece 17 and 2 friends, both 17, were denied entry by a very hostile owner. They were told they needed a chaperone, my daughter explained that she was 18, that she would be responsible for the 17 year olds. She questioned that the web site stated 16 and that none of them were 16. The owner got very angry.. They were told that none of them could come in unless they had someone 25 with them. These are kind, polite, respectful kids looking for something to do on school vacation. A mother in line spoke up and said they were with her. Everyone entered and they were all treated with hostility the entire time. Including being reprimanded for skating to slow or to close to the wall or reaching out to the wall for balance. Last I checked an 18 year old could serve our country but apparently can't go roller skating in Whitman. If you hate young peoole so much , don't own a business that attracts them. read more

Management could not have been more careless and insensitive. Clearly got their check from the state for hosting an event for foster children on school vacation but had little interest in being helpful or welcoming. They served (if you want to call it that) pizzas by just putting them out on tables and running away as fast as they could, letting kids grab what they could in a free for all. When the manager was tracked down in her office to ask if there was more pizza for the kids and family that didn't get lunch, she said "you got your 10 pizzas." Clearly they had fulfilled their obligation. To my horror, a staff member also snatched the skate support device from my daughter because she was over the age of 12 with no consideration for her obvious struggle balancing (she has mild cerebral palsy, right side hemiparesis albeit high functioning). Terrible music. i was there with my cousins for school vacation-week and the music was terrible. we went and requested a few songs and they said "we don't take requests". this place it's not fun AT ALL!!! . They just wants us to get through the door and give them our money, but then they will slowly kick us out by playing songs the worst songs they could find. what the purpose of the word "fun" in this business's name? (carousel family "fun" center) it's a misconception. i will never be back here again and i will tell others about how bad this place as turned out. it's not what it used to be. read more

We just left an awesome 8 yo birthday party with an extremely group of well behaved children. (which makes me question previous reviews) My family and I have been here before with the school. They rent out this rink every year. We have never encountered any problems. The venues host over 100 people. I was so impressed by the hardworking staff members who were actually doing their jobs. That was amazing to see. I saw about 6 staff members. They ran the party with ease and were constantly doing something. The DJ/ host put on age appropriate music that was very good. Something for the kids, something for the parents, all different kinds from Jiveho to Latin songs and pop. He played games with the kids and irged the parents to participate as well. The food was served hot and during two different sections. First pizza and then cake. The servers were very polite: Always asking if the kids or parents needed anything. Some kids were offered seconds and thirds. I was very impressed that the people were doing their jobs! There wasn't any down time for them. And they were friendly and smiling the whole time. This place is soooo clean. I appreciated the fact that they left drinks out for the kids the entire party. Their coffee was great and so necessary for a 10 o clock slot bday party. My only suggestion is to serve pizza at 11 and not 10:30 during the 10-12 party slot. The kids were all happy and did not want to leave. read more

This place is attractive due to the location, friendly employees, frequent customer card and parking. Now that all the good has been thrown down i will explain the rest. I find it false advertisement when you call Wednesday nights "All you can eat Pizza" and then only set certain times pizza will be available and hence making people wait. As an emotionally fat person who cant get enough pizza this puts a real cramp on my style. Its hardly all you can eat if there has been nothing supplied to you. I also understand its winter and heat cost big $$$$ but lately i go in there and people are wearing snow hats and gloves. I actually envied them. This place is so cold that it actually made my entire body hurt. All in all the place is still OK, but with a few things changed i could be great. I realize this is a casual kids place, and I didn't expect fine food or amazing atmosphere, but this place was very disappointing. The skates were in sad shape, along with the games. Most of the machines I put tokens in we're broken. When we tried to redeem our tickets we couldn't get a straight answer on how many items we could get. We also waited a long time to be helped. They did not have the popcorn, cotton candy, or pretzels that are clearly listed on the menu. The skating was fine, except for the woman who was constantly on the microphone chastising children and parents for the smallest thing. The sing along with the person in the animal costume was outdated, and my kids thought it was creepy. This was not worth the entry fee, then 20.00 each plus lost money in tokens for broken games. read more

If I could rate no stars, I would. DO NOT GO HERE. I have been skating here since I was four years old. I took lesson with Paul as a child. I am Now nineteen years old, just shy of twenty. Fifteen years I have been a loyal, paying customer and have never once caused a problem in recent years. Tonight, Friday, October 27, I was approached by Charlene to "cover up because I don't like you or your outfit and your outfit is too revealing" Charlene is the owner of this establishment for reference. I asked politely "Charlene I would like to understand how I am too exposed. There are multiple minors inside with dramatically less clothing on than I. Can you please explain to me what is deemed inappropriate about my outfit. Only my midriff of four inches under my chest, but above my belly button is exposed." Her response was getting approximately 7 inches from my chest and exclaiming "your attitude to me I don't f***ing like it or you. You're an unwanted guest by my account and I have called the police to remove you. Get your things and get out." followed by slamming a door in my face. However, she did not call the police. I asked her another question as followed "Charlene I want to understand how at 19 years old, 4 inches, at most, of my midriff is too inappropriate however, there are minimally 7, thirteen year old with the butts showing from there shorts. Can you please explain this to me?" At this point I put on my jacket and had zipped it up covering up my stomach, as pictured, despite over heating due to lack of air conditioning. Her response was again to step closer, maybe 5 inches at most, and start flailing her hands at me, followed by "there are no teenagers with shorts on tonight, get your sh**!! You're done, goodbye." I have skated here every Friday, off and on, for the past 7 years. Attached are photos of my outfit and the Code of Dress.. I am legally an adult, and this outfit completely covers any provocative areas, excluding my belly fat. I have completely humiliated and belittled by this (in my very strong opinion, miserable and verbally abusive) woman. This is no way to speak to anyone Charlene, not a guest, not your female coworkers, not your family, NO ONE DESERVES YOUR HATE. NO ONE DESERVES TO BE SPOKEN TO ON SUCH A DEHUMANIZING LEVEL. Went for public skake. It's a fortune for 4 people ($70+) for 2.5 hours, unless you bring your own skates. The place was dirty. They make you scan a waiver on your phone - it's a pain - or they have greasy computers you can wait in line for -- all so that you can do their work of protecting them from you... Wow! They are rude and just don't care. My 6 year old fell and sat down for a second to rest and a surly 16-year old staff member yelled at her to get up. I too fell and wasn't sure if I was okay - he rolled by - and yelled at me twice. It sucked - but you honestly get the feeling that they don't care - as long as the $$$ is rolling in. read more

I used to go here every weekend as a kid and it was great! But I recently went back and all they would play was sad country music and wouldn't put on anything else saying that they couldn't access the adult playlist? But, half the songs were talking about drinking away the pain of missing some girl, so I was a little confused as to how that was child friendly. I have been happily skating at this rink for a number of years. It is clean, family-oriented, and well maintained. My adult children loved coming here, and I was happy to bring my grandchildren. Unfortunately, this year when I brought my 5-year-old granddaughter, I was told they would no longer tighten the wheels so that she wouldn't keep falling. How handy that for an additional $5 we could rent this contraption to help her. It was unstable and she couldn't skate more than 3 feet without falling - wasn't like that last year when her wheels were tighter. She ended up crying, bruised and very unhappy. I think this establishment is putting the buck ahead of safety. I will not be bringing my grandkids back until they know how to skate, rather than bringing them here to learn. read more

The Carousel Family Fun Center has found it's way into the endless rotation of kids birthday parties recently among my sons classmates. He actually had his party there as well and I have to say I was very impressed with the job they do. The place is a little old and needs some updating, but they do a nice job running their kids parties. The pizza is great, I think they make it in house fresh which is good. Games are sometimes broken and run down, but you're there to skate, not play games (as I tell my son!). read more

Worst staff available! They were so rude to the kids! A woman who worked there screamed at my nephew(he is 2) for running! I understand he shouldnt have been, but we had just walked in gor a birthday party and he got excited when he saw his cousins! Then when I asked for her name, she refused to give it to me! Fast forward an hour...I then watched her yell at another little girl for holding on to someone while skating! Shouldn't work with children if you don't like them! Went to my cousins daughters birthday party here today. It was so cute. The children had a blast. I remember coming here as a kid to do the skate nights so I was interested in how the building has been maintained over the years. Nothing looked run down at all. If anything it looked like they put effort into maintaining their building. They have walkers for younger children's who are learning to skate. They played current music that made skating every more enjoyable. I would recommend this place. read more

I am quite shocked to discover that this place has a 3 star rating after my recent trip. Immediately upon entering I could smell the distinct smell of feet and broken dreams. Decided to sample some of the fine cuisine which didn't taste bad but sadly sat around because no one brought the food over or alerted me to my food being done. So on to the skating didn't seem too bad but the DJ would either stop the music every 15 seconds and repeatedly change the song as it started to get good. Best part was the guy in Skinny jeans wearing a Marine Corps hate doing tricks and leaving. I used to go here a lot in the 80's. Boy has it gone downhill. They don't sell water or Gatorade at the concession stand but it is available in a vending machine that doesn't actually work! The attendant at the concession stand will give you a 6 oz cup of water if you wait in like for 10 minutes. Staff were uncaring that my dramatic children were "dying" of thirst but didn't want a soda. How can you not serve bottled water at a roller rink? The DJ kept changing songs every 30 seconds and never played an entire one song from start to finish. Is this a new thing? They have about 5 tables you can sit at that aren't Birthday party tables. They say they are open until 10 but stop playing music at 9:30 and make sure they are very clear over and over again that everyone needs to be out at 10. Not 10:01, 10:00! Overall not worth the $52 for admission and skates for 4 people. read more

Great place for us novice skaters to learn and have fun. It's spacious, clean, affordable and kid-friendly. I like that adults can choose between roller and in-line skates. My daughter took a break from skating & played in the arcade area. Cafeteria serves pizza, fries etc. (what do you expect, people? It's a roller skating rink). All in all a fun, neighborhood place. I've been coming here for years and there has never been enough seating for those who are not skating, ie parents/ spectators. There are lockers for storing belongings but some people choose to use the public tables to store their belonging which leaves no seating for other families. The staff at Carousel Family Fun Center allows families to leave there belongings on tables and benches. I've said something several times to staff yet nothing is done. Today was the worst I've ever seen it. There was a woman on crutches forced to stand for at least a half hour near the tables until she finally got the courage to sit at one of several tables packed with jackets, sneakers, leftover food etc. She said to me "it's so rude how people leave there things here." It's unfortunate to see elderly or disabled or just patrons not skating, forced to stand due to others lack of following basic storage instruction and carousel's lack of enforcement of this simple protocol. Put a few signs up ANYTHING! Hopefully this issue can be addressed soon because my kids love going here (hence the stars)! read more

Last night we had Super Hero Skate Night to fight Cystic Fibrosis at the Carousel Fun Center. Everyone had an amazing time and the manager and staff were more than accomadating. They were friendly and worked with us to make our fundraiser a successful evening. The owner, Charlene, went above and beyond to work with us, with very prompt phone calls back with dates and to see how she could help us with setup and even a follow up call the next day after the event. The place was clean and fun for the families that joined us. I highly recommend this venue for a fundraiser and Chartons Chargers will be having more events at the Carousel Fun Center. read more

I was at the Foster event with 3 kids and we had a great time. They each got 2 slices of pizza and there were pitchers of drinks. This free for us event was not paid for by the state. The event was sponsored by a group called Friends of Foster Care, it's a few foster moms doing nice things for kids in care. I'm positive that if you told one of them that your child didn't get pizza they would have been happy to help. I'm not sure if you have run an event but it's not easy. As far as the skate helpers they were for small children and may not have been safe for a taller child. Perhaps they had taller ones if you explained the situation. This is my 3rd year going to this event and it has been a favorite for any of the kids I have had. read more

They screamed at a little boy with special needs for having shoes on, and then preceded to tell the mother "put something with wheels on him or leave". Also, their customer service is rude, doesn't seem to give two sh**s about anything, and will overall be awful to you and your kids. I'm not a big roller skater. But if I'm going to roller skate, this is the one place in greater Boston I'd consider. It's clean, the crowd isn't rough. Easy parking. Frequent customer card is nice, 5 visits and the next one is free. The DJ plays the usual music you'd expect. Roller World in Saugus and Chez Vous in Dorchester are actually closer to my house, but I still prefer this place. Better crowd here than you see in the other places. read more
