I did not feel my child was prioritized, and that our needs were addressed, much less met. Culminating point: our toddler had been at the center for 6 months, during the parent teacher conference, the teacher who was with her during her time there (part-time, 2-3 times a week) told me outright and sans-compassion: I don't know your kid. My feelings were hurt, and I worried about who the onus was on: my child, or the provider who was with her for those 192 (or so) hours? Had she tried? Did she care to do so? There are some elements of the child-care that were nice: low child ratio, environment that is concord, and the Director is in fact a sweetheart, the assistant in the toddler room as well, however with such things at play, how had one of the lead teachers failed to discover my child? If there were automatic capturing of what was happening during the day, (without my likely annoying prodding) I could tell you. That said, I'm sorry it simply wasn't the case. I'm still recovering from how much this experience hurt my feelings, and how I felt my daughters feelings were on some levels ignored as well. I was unnerved and nervous looking for a new provider thinking that perhaps this was how it was everywhere. Fortuantely I found out simply, that was not the case. Our daughter is thriving in an environment that recognizes her unique abillities and talents.

It has a very homey feel. With the exception of one teacher, they have all been there for 10+ years and all have degrees in Childhood Education. The location is convenient and picturesque and the hours very accommodating. They offer early drop-off at 7:30AM and late pick-up at 5:30PM. I can't recommend them enough. I have utter confidence in their program and their director. Our son just loves going there.

My children are young (2 and 4), so it's my first school encounter as a parent, and I know the bar has been set incredibly high. The children are nurtured and deeply cared for by amazing, highly qualified and empathetic teachers who lead by example. They are genuinely excited to go to school each day, and, through the Montessori teaching method, absorb imperative life, critical thinking, analytical, and social skills in the classroom that they then take home with them. Oak Meadow students (my own and those that I've observed of all ages) are independent thinkers who are considerate, respectful, and supportive of one another. It's so refreshing to witness! Oak Meadow is a very special learning environment - we looked at many preschools in the area, and are consistently impressed with Oak Meadow's curriculum, teachers, and community.

The school proved to be a wonderful choice for my son's education . It has helped him develop a sound foundation in all aspects of academic learning while providing him the right kind of social and emotional support necessary for well rounded development. He has gone onto thrive in a highly competitive high school program with no issues. The personal attention and care that he received from his teachers all through his years at the school has a lot to do with this success. We have been so happy with his progress that we had no hesitation to start his younger brother in the same program a few years ago and we have been very happy with how well he is thriving at the school. If you are looking for excellent academics this school is a good choice. If you are looking for more than just academic excellence, I think there is nothing better than this school and its teachers!!

They are a co-op, so don't be fooled, you have to contribute time, but what parent wouldn't want to be involved in their children's daily lives? LNS is located at the DeCordova Museum, which helps them incorporate nature and art into the curriculum. Because there is a parent teacher in the classroom every day, you can be confident that your children are in great hands. These teachers are so kind and you can trust that they treat your child as if he/she were their own. To help acclimate your child into the school and classroom they: 1) start with a home visit to every child's home to get to know them in a setting where they feel comfortable. 2) have "lemonade parties" where the kids can go have a snack and lemonade at school for an hour and hang out in the classroom/on campus and with the teachers with their parents around. 3) they start the year off with just half of the class for the first two days so it isn't overwhelming for the kids and they can have more individual time with the teachers. Throughout the year, they conduct parent teacher curriculum nights and events. They have their whole year scheduled and organized. The teachers have an online blog where you can read what they are doing and they post photos for you to be a part of the experience. This School is very advanced for a "day care". They follow some of the practices of some of the private schools in the area. I have been to quite a few day cares and I have 3 children, so I am really impressed by this nursery school. Amazing place! Please feel free to contact me with any questions!
