Grilled Goat Cheese Salad - very good

Good food. Fast service. A little noisy. And a little chili because they keep the front door open.

Breast of duck with raisins, Jerusalem artichokes and mushrooms. Yum!!

Made this our first meal in Paris and oh my goodness were the star ratings off. Pickled olives and fresh sliced baguette as soon as you sit down. Ordered the Poelee de St. Jacques et champignons couche (Pan-fried scallops with mushrooms) as our starter. It was cooked to perfection. For my entree, I chose the Magret de canard roti aux raisins, topinambours et champignons (Breast of duck with raisins, Jerusalem artichokes, and mushrooms). What a dish! So flavorful and delicious. My husband had the Souris d'agneau aux figues et amandes (Lamb shank with figs and almond). I'm not usually a fan of lamb, but it was fall-off-the-bone-tender with very little gaminess. The flavor combination was fantastic- best lamb shank I've ever tasted. We finished the meal with the Mousse au chocolate a discretion (Chocolate mousse has discretion). They served it out of a huge metal mixing bowl. It was rich and thick as if bits of chocolate cake had been mixed into it. Mouth watering as I write this. The ambience was candle-lit and romantic. The service was great. Helpful when needed, but they don't bother or rush you. 'Tis the European way. I was expecting a $100 tab with the decadence we were served. We had beer and wine as well, but the bill came out to 67 Euro. Tax included with no gratuity?! What a deal!!! Worried the Carpe Diem Cafe may have set the bar too high for our first meal in Paris, but if it has, we'll definitely be back! IMHO, this was not a four star restaurant as rated by Yelp, but five solid stars all the way.

During our weeklong Parisian stay, this place was the most delicious, beautiful and romantic place. Being bilingual in Spanish and English, and having studied French in school, I like to think I speak enough to barely get my point across. And, I like to think it impresses my boyfriend when I can order and carry on a conversation in French. Anyways, at the end of an extremely long day, my French goes to ish. Our server was so kind and hospitable. The food, the wine and the chocolate mousse... everything was so delicious. The entire restaurant/bar is lit only by candlelight at night. I cannot wait to go back here!

Our family of 4 enjoyed everything about this restaurant. The food was well prepared and delicious & the staff were kind and helpful. We plan to return for lunch because we were super exited to have the chocolate mousse, but it was late when we came for dinner so they were sold out. Nice dinner music and beautiful surroundings. My daughter loved the duck & my husband really enjoyed the beef tourmalines. The desserts were amazing! We highly recommend this cafe

Duck breast in cranberry sauce - super yummy!

Be sure to show up only after 7:30pm if you are here for dinner... Walked in around 7pm, waited a long while and starved to death. But the duck breast in cranberry sauce is totally worth all the wait

Banana desert was incredible and you won't regret this lovely taste in your mouth!

We knew we had to come back our last night and did so! I ordered the Miami Vice Negroni and it was a complex drink. I still can't determine if I liked it or didn't. We ended up going with Ava and her boyfriend Yassine, lining up after dinner, around 10:30 on a Friday night. There was a small crowd waiting outside, and it took us about a half hour to get in. The place was fun and busy, and as charming as I remembered. We got seated in a loungey upstairs area and received excellent table service. There was free popcorn and even a complimentary round of welcome drinks, a strong mini cocktail of Gentian and peated whiskey. The menu had changed over completely since my first visit. The cocktail offerings were printed onto thick printed leaves arranged on metal branches, forming a cool little tree centerpiece that replaced a paper menu (there was also a more detailed menu available online). Several of the cocktails were labeled with raindrops, indicating they were available as mocktails--helpful for Yassine, who doesn't drink alcohol. Matt and I shared two rounds, sampling a good chunk of this new menu. Everything was delicious. The Carbone was a bright, interesting cocktail made with beetroot, black garlic, Origin smoked gin, and Dartigalongue Un-Oaked, served with a cube of frozen yogurt that melted lushly into the beet-red drink. The Serre Solaire was smooth and boozy, with black tea, green walnut and milk, Cointreau, and Rémy Martin cognac. The Résilience was a highbrow tropical cocktail, with sorghum, pineapple sage, Pasquet cognac, and Savanna rum. The Permaculture was creative and flavorful, with chestnut, butter, wakame umeshu, and Avallen Calvados. I also tried a sip of Ava's Aquaponie, a light, juicy vodka drink with basil, lemon and sweet clover, St. Germain, and Grey Goose. I love Little Red Door and I'm glad I got to visit a second time and share it with my husband. We do live kind of far away, but I hope a third visit is in the cards.
