The serving staff is friendly, attentive and patient. We came in as a group of 4 Americans and up until eating here didn't see much hospitality in Paris. The server took his time to explain the menu in English and was extremely friendly! I ordered a steak and it came with green beans and potatoes. Everything had great flavor and the butter on top of the steak was one of the best steak butters we've ever had. My friends and I were arguing over what kind of butter it was, so if anyone knows... let me know! Prices were reasonable. Sorry I don't remember exactly how much it cost. We found Le Smoke during our recent visit to Paris, France. We were in search of a reasonably priced restaurant that would also present as a tasty/not overpriced meal, which had proven itself difficult in this city. Upon arrival the staff was very attentive and our waiter took the time to explain every detail of the menu to us in English. He was absolutely fabulous and the service was on point. We both decided to go with two of the plate of the days: Chicken with a mushroom sauce accompanied with pasta and the Duck with Green Beans and Roasted Potatoes. Both dishes were very reasonable for the price but were very simple. The meals were also served with the classic hot mustard on the side. read more

I really liked this place. I was looking for a chill place to grab a beer and a bite to eat on Friday and this place delivered. Beers were pretty inexpensive. The bartender was extremely helpful in explaining the menu. I went with the quiche. It came out and was perfectly moist, with crispy potatoes and a side salad that wasn't slathered in dressing all for 8.50 euro. The bar also had a unique vibe compared to a lot of the other Paris bars that I went to. It was a little small but was worth hitting up for a quick bite if you are in the area. read more

This is a nice tucked away little gem that is English friendly but popular with French foodies as well. Dark and atmospheric with jazz dec, part restaurant and part bar with a super chill vibe and more affordable prices than most of the restaurants in the area. We had the duck breast with pepper sauce (seared rare & absolutely amazing) and the cheeseburger (very good as well), portions are generous and the bread served with dinner was delicious as well. The food was great I had steak gravy potatoes and green beans, loved the dish simple but well prepared and at the risk of sounding like the fat girl I wanted to drink the gravy lol. Came here due to all the great reviews and didn't think It lived up to it. First off the place is called Le Smoke for a reason, it smelled of smoke. You can't escape the smell since people smoked outside too. I didn't see anyone smoking inside but the smell of cigarette filled the room. I ordered a steak which was on the daily special and was only able to finish half of it. It was very tough. Even cutting into it was tiring. Fortunately the sides of potato and green beans were good. The service here is very friendly and there's live jazz music. read more

This place has AMAZING service as well as extremely DELICIOUS food!! The staff is so sweet and the prices are very fair. I went with my family on the night of New Year's Eve and they had a dinner special which they kindly let us choose from. We also ordered drinks and cocktails which were very good! Excellent! It's a small local bar, and we didn't know what to expect when we walked in. The bartender spoke only a little English, but he translated the menu for us pretty well and had excellent service. I ordered the only chicken dish that was on the menu, but it was fantastic. It came with green beans, potatoes, and bread, which were all very good... And I usually don't even like green beans! I enjoyed this establishment several times during my last visit to Paris. The current wait staff ignored me during my visit last night. I arrived early for a drink and dinner. I was informed dinner was not served until 7pm. I replied, "that's fine. I will have a glass or two of wine while I wait." My glass was empty after 40 minutes. The waiter passed by me several times waiting on other customers. He avoided eye contact each time. I finally got his attention and ordered another glass. 30-40 minutes later, and another empty glass, he was setting up other customers for dinner and giving out dinner menus. I was ignored for another 15 minutes. I got up to leave and miraculously he noticed and asked if I needed anything. He is either incredibly stupid or purposeful in his hate for Americans. There are too many other great options in Paris. I will never go back and encourage other Americans to spend their money elsewhere. read more

Le Smoke gets five stars because they have THE BEST Quiche Lorraine in the world!! The bar is very cozy with a speakeasy feel. The service was great and the drinks were cheap. It was a little crowded (the place is no bigger than a small upstairs/downstairs 2 bedroom townhouse so it didn't take much to fill it up.I had reservations for 8pm so I thought I was good. Wrong! I don't know if the little Asian man that greeted us was the owner/ restaurant manager or host but he was the typical condescending, rude Parisian. After waiting for our food for an hour the food was lukewarm and the ordered medium steak was more on the well done tough, non flavorful side. I opted for a lighter meal, salad special (I'd been eating a lot of croissants this week) The wait staff was attentive. Seating is on benches like and very tight, everyone crammed in together, but after a couple of drinks, no one cared. It's loud and and dark. The owner was fun and even though our French was a bit rough (ok, we cheated we made our friend order for us) the owner took a few moments to ask about us, who we were etc. They only had one dessert option. My daughter was disappointed, but our native guides said.. "this is France, you get what they give you" It was a funny take. Kind of like take it or leave it, but not in a bad way, just in .. this is how we are way. It was part of our entire cultural experience. This place won't be for everyone, it's loud and crowded and has a dark tavern-like atomsphere. Don't expect to have an "intimate" romantic meal here.
