First...for those of you that are not aware...Carpet King and Flooring moved across the street to 675 Kings Highway East. Same store and owners when it was located in Kings Plaza. I was misguided by Carpet King's salesman Bob about a carpet I selected. I asked if this type of weave would be ok with my cat. Bob then picked up the sample and with his fingers showed me how tight the weave is and that he couldn't see how my cat could get his claws under the loops. This was grosslyl negligent on his part because almost immediately my very docile Persian cat, who has never damaged anything in our home, has destroyed our living room and bedroom carpets. $4,000 dollar wasted. read more

Great experience working with Carpet King for our stair runners! We moved into a new house and were worried about the bare wood stairs being slippery for us and our dog. We worked with Bob and Steve to put in runners on our two staircases, and they were both very helpful. Lots of options in the store which they walked us through, and the price was better than the quote we got from another company. The other employees who came for the installation were very professional and friendly as well. They also followed safety protocols and wore masks the whole time they were in our home. It took a few weeks between ordering and installation, but everything is delayed right now due to Covid. We are so happy with the end result! read more

These guys were great. I stopped in with an idea for what I wanted to do in a rental property. Within a few minutes, Bob (my sales person) gave me several great options to pick from. He sent me home with samples and arranged to come by the house later that day to take measurements. I got a reasonable quote worked out the next day and within 3 weeks they were in the house laying down the carpet. The edging work was great, everything was fitted perfectly, their crew was on time and worked quickly, I have zero complaints. I had such a lovely experience with Carpet King! They had such an amazing variety of carpets to choose from it was hard to make a decision but I found the perfect one for our home. Horrible customer service. Had carpet installed few years ago which is now buckling. Called and offered to pay for fix. They blew us off. Wanted us to pay $250 minimum to fix a problem that was their poor workmanship. Run away !! Rugs should not buckle in a short time, but if they do, work with customer to fix. We felt like yesterdays news. We even asked to pay to rent the tool to fix and got rejected out of hand. They are all about new business, proceed with extreme caution !!!!!! read more

We had an excellent experience with using Carpet King recently to turn our finished basement into a workout room with a hangout area/movie room. My husband & I went in to the store one day to get some preliminary ideas, and Bob helped us figure out exactly what we were looking for. We ordered the gym flooring & carpeting that very same day, and Bob made the process really easy, in addition to offering us a really good discount. Of course, being a woman, I decided to change the carpet color a day or two later, and Bob was able to switch it out without an issue. Our order came in within three weeks, and once our painters had finished, the installation was scheduled for a few days later and then completed within a five-hour time period. The installers were very professional, respectful and friendly, and did a fantastic job laying the gym flooring and carpeting. Sorry to say that although they were professional, courteous and dependable, they did not work with us to remedy installation of vinyl flooring in our basement. Within 4 months, the goop/glue from prior rug was seeping up thru the seams. Yes, it is a basement, they denied that the floor was not properly cleaned. They "never saw this before".....really?!? Vinyl is click, not glued. We are currently speaking with the people at SHAW for advice. Anyone want photos, I got em. read more

I spoke with Steve about seaming some carpet for me. It would cost about $200.00. He said if I bought carpet for the upstairs of my home, he would do the other unit seaming for free. When I told him that we decided restore the hardwood, he stopped returning my phone calls. I called him at least 5 times on his personal cell. I know it is cell due to the fact he says it is the cell in his message. I have spent around $2,500 with his business and he didn't have the courtesy tor return my calls. I would not be posting this review if he called me back even if he told me he did not want to do the job. read more

Carpet King installed a vinyl plank floor in my master bedroom, closet and hall. They did a great job using a Shaw product. The quality of work was superb, they showed up on time, moved and protected my furniture and cleaned when done. I highly recommend them for your flooring projects. Have used there services twice in the past....the first time was a small job, they installed runners on my stairs as I have 2 small children ....hard to say about price as it was a minimal job and I didn't price it out....however they sent someone to my house, did all the measurements and job was completed promptly and to my satisfaction...the second job was more extensive as I had all my carpets picked up and hardwood floors placed....once againbtheyvcame to my house, measured everything, quoted me a price that was at the lower end of the other quotes I got....i absolutely loved the job that was done, just recently I had a leak in my master bedroom where a few panels of my floor got warped...I called them and asked them my options, instead of selling me on a new floor they actually had pieces left from my original job, installed it for next to nothing.....great people, great service...hard to find these days read more

When I moved into my house i quickly realized that when someone was walking upstairs it was really loud downstairs. We needed some carpet up there. We went to carpet king. They had so many carpets and runners it was almost overwhelming, however one of the guys there helped us find a really nice carpet that matched the walls and everything. they ordered the carpet and installed it the day we needed it and have had 0 issues since then. this is the most painless work i've done on the house so far. read more

I wanted to give my business to a mom & pop store instead of a big box or department store when I needed carpeting for my steps and landing in my house so I went to Carpet King. I was satisfied with the work (it was basic carpeting & padding) and price. So when it came time to buy an area rug I went back to Carpet King. After waiting around the Norwalk store for 30 min to be helped, I looked around myself and and found an area rug I liked. I finally had a salesperson help me and asked about the rug. It's 8'x10', black with a contemporary design at opposite corners. I really loved it. I bought it. Setting up delivery was a nightmare since they don't deliver on the weekend (what?!). Finally, I had an appt for between 9-12PM. They showed up at my door at 7:30 and I wasn't even up yet. Before they could come in I saw a tear in the padding. I refused delivery. Setting up delivery again was again a nightmare. Because they don't deliver on the weekends, and I work, and they only deliver during the day, it took weeks. Finally I got delivery, padding was fine. I loved the way it looked in my home. However, the carpet being black, shows every single speck of dust and anything else that might be on your feet or in the air. I called Carpet King after owning the carpet for 2 months and explained the problem. Their answer "oh yeah, black shows everything." I said "then why didn't the salesman point that out to me?" No answer. Can I exchange it? No, only within 3 days!!! I said "It's only me in the house. The carpet is still brand new. I don't want a refund, and I'll buy something else." No, they'd have to speak to the manager and call me back. I have never received a call back. If I bought this rug from a big box or department store I would have been able to return it with ease. This is why mom & pop stores are going out of business; bad customer service, non-disclosure of facts, poor sales help and terrible return policies. Needless to say I won't be returning to Carpet King...ever again. read more
