They were among the lower…read moreestimates, but their estimate was very detailed in what they would do, and they provided a 10 year workmanship warranty. (I chose 25 year shingles.) My roof is a hip roof, and is difficult to work on - there is one addition to the house which has no attic access from inside the house. In mid 2011, I noticed a bubble in that area's bathroom paint, (no water marks) and had no idea it was a roof leak, for months until it spread and finally broke through. Budget roofing sent a worker to patch up the valley between the roof sections, but advised that the collateral damage (replastering and painting the bath) should wait until after a few more rainstorms to make sure the repair was OK. It was not, and I recontacted them (went to their office in person) They sent a great, very professional, two man crew. They spent nearly the full day, redid the entire valley, left extra shingles if I would ever need any more work. After some more rainstorms, it was ok, and was asked it I had a painter of choice, they got a quote from him (he used top grade paint) accepted it, and agreed to cover all collateral damage. All was done at no cost to me. I cannot praise this company enough. The repair roofers even cut a tree limb for me that would eventually be touching the roof (it was barely reachable from the rooftop) I cannot imagine anyone else doing such a great job And no, I an not a cute young woman that they wanted to impress... I an 73! Please note - there are other Budget Roofing companies in this general area. I an reviewing the one at 1499 Winchester Road, co-owners Randel and Tina Whitt. When I checked them out in 2011 they had an A+ rating from the BBB, and they still do.

Jeff and his crew built a very simple and small raised patio for me in April 2024. Initially, some…read moreof the pavers were unlevel and crooked, so he came back and reinstalled them, resulting in an even worse appearance. By June, the entire patio had shifted with pavers lifting and sinking as it was deteriorating from the ground up. The patio was built on an existing concrete slab and having had no rain there was no reason the patio should have been falling apart so quickly. I called in a licensed inspector who determined from the construction pictures I had taken that it was not built correctly from the beginning. Everything about the construction was wrong - from using the incorrect gravel to the compaction method, leveling technique, and sloppy paver installation. The inspector's opinion was that this patio could not be fixed but needed to be completely rebuilt. He called it a "bad do-it-yourself" project. I had Jeff come back to see the mess and he actually hung his head in shame, said he was embarrassed, and admitted it was a disaster. Because the work was still under warranty, he offered to fix it or replace it. As I told him, I had no confidence that he had the knowledge, skill, or crew to rebuild it. He then offered to refund my money, which I thought under the circumstances was the right thing to do. However, his business partner insisted they "fix it under warranty" and rescinded the refund offer. I spent a lot of stressful, sleepless nights agonizing over how to resolve this. While I realized that providing the warranty work is all they are legally liable for, I could not foresee the next year of dealing with a rebuilt patio that would likely be a second structural disaster. The pictures show only small examples of the sloppy work and do not capture the overall rollercoaster appearance of the patio. In the end, I hired another contractor to rip out the patio, haul away the six-month old inferior building materials, and rebuild it. The difference in the two patios is astounding and I have now a beautiful patio that is sound and solid. While Jeff is a nice and likeable person, this was the worst contracting experience I have ever had in forty years of dealing with contractors.

The footer for the basement was off, should have been 3 feet deeper, resulting in additional materials and labor on ALL of the house to get the ceiling clearance needed in the basement. The bulk head next to the basement that adjoined the garage was off by 8 inches resulting in additional labor and materials. The footer at the front porch, it was off by 6 inches resulting in a loss of living space. The pier footers in the center of the home didn't line up and resulted in having to have the new person hired to hand dig and pour more concrete for the piers. Have Edward the opportunity to correct the mistakes and he didn't show up. Gave him another opportunity to fix the mistakes and a heads up of reviews I was leaving if he didn't fix the issues- his response was to call me when he wasn't busy-which never happened. The block person he had on the job was continually pulled off our job to do other small jobs that resulted in it taking forever to get the block in the basement laid (this was when it was realized that the basement footer was incorrect.) Requested a copy of his license, insurance and EIN, wouldn't give it. Called the city as well as the county/state...he is not licensed and has not been licensed since 2018. I'm guessing since he failed to hold a business license he doesn't have insurance either. He was paid in full to do a job and failed to do it properly or fix his screw ups. Not happy at all and wouldn't recommend this company to do any footer or block work.

Our bar is not your typical 'basement bar' and the team at Karmal Skillington are not your typical cabinet makers. I worked hand in hand with Leigh to design an "Irish Pub" that rivals any commercial bar in the City of Brentwood, Tennessee. Seriously... Any bar, in any restaurant, does not come close. The bar, named after our dog "Bourbon 'O Hayden's" is a behemoth of a bar, measuring approximately 15ft in length by 10.5ft deep. It's built from a combination of beautiful reclaimed hemlock and white oak, which was used for the bar top and counters. Leigh went out of her way to source the perfect wood (even driving out of State to get it!) and she really honed in on the details. Not only did Leigh check off all the boxes on my extensive list of must haves, but she checked off boxes that I had never even imagined. This bar has everything, ample wine and whiskey storage, custom drawers and shelves for an array of glassware and bar tools, two built-in kegerators, a beautiful brass foot rail, a built-in beverage/wine fridge and even a custom cabinet to store a collection of tap handles. Leigh didn't stop there. Once the bar was complete, she helped to transform the space even further with 9 floating shelves and a custom barn door which was designed to resemble the St. Jame's Gate in Dublin, Ireland. A door that has protected the Guinness Beer Empire since 1759, now has a little brother in Brentwood, TN and it's a custom-made work of art! Our Irish Pub is now the local hangout for our neighborhood and has become a great escape for my wife and I. We can't wait to host friends and family for yearly Superbowl's, Oktoberfest's and of course, St. Paddy's Day. We highly recommend Leigh and her team of artisans for any job BIG or small.
