Can I choose ZERO STARS? Unprofessional! And child labor??? Really?? WIsh I had looked at Yelp before I bought the coupon. I ordered the Living Social voucher for these guys for $45. I was told they would be here between 12-3. They call this morning and say now it will be between 2-5. The guy shows up at 4:15 with his 11 year old son in a personal van. He doesn't even have the skills to introduce himself or his son to me or shake my hand. I start by showing him the freshly vacuumed rooms where I moved just about everything but a small chair and lamp. I asked him to please move those as I am physically unable. He said you only paid $45 for this and thats a level one. We dont move anything but a level 3. Guess thats fancy talk Mr. inept. The voucher says that they dont move electronics. He says I read it wrong and that no one lifts any furniture anymore. Then I say well can you at least put down protectors under the wood furniture legs? Nope. Dont have them. I'm getting increasingly uptight about the guy's capability. He said at $45 its a quick around everything type of cleaning and if I wanted a real cleaning I'd be paying $150. I said but this is a promotional price, no? He doesn't see it that way. Bingo. He and his child start dragging in the equipment and place a DISGUSTING dirty ripped bath towel on my floor. He then tells me he's exhausted and old and has worked really hard today. Then he's complaining about what sink to connect his portable machine to and talks to the kid about it and he's wondering how he's going to get the machine up my stairs. I tell him this is all making me uncomfortable. And he says maybe he should go. And I said I agree and he starts telling me how everyone loves him and hes acting all angry. I said it was his lack of professionalism that lost him this job and that I dont hire child labor. He says Oh I pay my son and how dare I bring up child labor! Then he threatens me that hes going to tell his uncle-the supposed mayor of Rumson. lol. Living Social totally understood my complaint about this company and did give me my money back. read more

Do not make the same mistake I did. I bought the supply duct cleaning from Amazon Local. After about 3 months of scheduling issues, he finally made it out. Shows up with a shop vac and pressurized air. The whole process took about 20 minutes and was extremely sloppy. I spent the whole time following them around hoping they werent going to steal my stuff. He gave me the hard sell and convinced me to also clean the returns for $70. I came down to the basement at one point and the shop vac was running and the hose wasnt even connected! They weren't doing anything to get into the duct work - no special wands, cameras, technology. I could have done it myself with their technique. Luckily I was listening when he said he was going to push all the debris into the filter, so i told him I didn't have a replacement filter. He offered to blow it out for me (like he was doing me a big favor) so i agreed. After paying and saying goodbye, I went to the basement to check on his work...NOT GOOD! He blew out my filter into the basement with all the grime and dust bunnies everywhere. He left the cut out portions of my duct work and insulation laying around (yes they cut holes into your duct work!). Long story short - not on time, not professional, reeks of cigarettes, hard sells you stuff you dont need, wouldnt even use the word workmanship to describe what they did, and didnt clean up after themselves. Save yourself the time, scheduling aggrivation, and money and stay away from these knuckleheads. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. I used this company because I purchased a coupon from Amazon Local. I will not make that mistake again!!! After some scheduling difficulties, they finally agreed to come to our home several weeks later "when we will be in the area." We live in Center City Philadelphia. They arrived about 3 hours late on the day of the appointment. While the quality of services was poor at best, the worst part of the Carpet Rescue Plus experience was the unprofessional, rude and surly behavior of one of the two workers. As an example, when the worker was alerted that he was splashing water and banging his equipment into our walls, he sneered " I've worked in a lot better homes than this one!" That was actually one of the nicer things he said. In all my years of hiring home repair vendors, I have never encountered such an unpleasant and inept company. Awful service, turned up at our home and said that they wanted more money to do a 'deep clean'. The service they actually did was little more than make the carpet wet. Not one of the marks on the floor came out and the carpet fiber was flat. I called them to discuss with the manager and he said I should have paid $30-40 more to get the 'deep clean'. Time and time again tried comparing themselves to stanley steamers and letting us know what a great deal it was and was try to be very pushy to get more cleaning done.Made comments about our economic status when we were enquiring about the price to get get other cleaning done. I had a similar experience to many of the one star reviews. The appointment to clean the air ducts was set for 11 am. They called to say they were going to be late and came at 1:30 pm when I had another appointment. Two older men, one giving the other one information as if he were a young boy, in a car, came in wreaking of cigarette smoke, with huge dirty pieces of equipment. They were asked to put on booties and had to be reminded a 2nd time as they walked in. They were going to put their dirty equipment on my expensive kitchen rug. I stopped them. They said they needed to go into the basement & knocked things down the stairs as they dragged their equipment down the stairs. I asked them to be careful & look where they were going. They hadn't asked any questions when making the appointment and initially assumed they were cleaning carpets. When they arrived they were assuming to do the furnace and told me it was very unusual to have baseboard heat with air conditioning ducts combined. I didn't choose to argue with them. They wouldn't give me a price above what I paid on SpinSaver. They had to look at it. They walked around the house and then said they needed to get other equipment. They left and I looked out. No "car". I called the number on the CID. Their phone number wasn't on the SpinSaver receipt. No answer. I called SpinSaver to complain. While talking to SpinSaver they called back to say they left and weren't comfortable doing the job. They said I should take my bullshit & find someone else. read more

(Disclaimer: I do not write reviews unless I am really aggravated.) My experience was similar to Deborah D's -- The guy showed up 2 hrs late for a 9am appointment in a Minivan, with his son and an older looking dude. Straight away told me that I would be charged $20 extra because my condo was on the 3rd floor. Used my kitchen sink as the source of water, the guy who was with him manned the water supply and left mud on my kitchen floor. When I asked how long the cleaning will take, he said 15 mins and that's exactly how much time it took for him to 'clean' - the 15 mins he was there, he kept saying over and over that I got a deal from livingsocial. The livingsocial page says "Insured experts apply a pre-conditioner and shampoo compound to ensure success" - I can say for sure that no pre-conditioner and shampoo was used in my condo. Neither did the guy look like an expert. Livingsocial is becoming a joke -- they should probably do some level of screening before they allow jokers like this to 'offer' their services. Had an appointment set up, guy called me to say he'd be late...no problem. Well another 1 1/2 hours go by & he still hadn't shown up. When I called back (multiple times) he did not pick up. Horrible, terrible, DO NOT USE THIS "COMPANY" I bought the deal through Amazon Local, they gave me an arrival window of 12-4, first warning sign, is carpet cleaning that unpredictable that I need to block off an entire day to accommodate you?? Then of course they dont show up till just shy of 5pm... They show up in a personal minivan with basically a bissel, and do a terrible job. They spilled water all over my kitchen floor, and made more of a mess then they cleaned. They also did not move a single piece of furniture, just went around anything I hadn't moved before they showed up. When I complained about it, the owner told me, well, we cant get stains out, we just clean the rugs... but the rugs look no cleaner after their "service" then before.. We had purchased a Living Social voucher, and not only did they lift stains that were years' old out of our carpets, they explained what they were doing and how to properly maintain it after they left. They recommended a carpet cleaning schedule for them to come back out, and they did such a wonderful job that we will be taking them up on it. I bought the deal & took an appointment with them, they asked for my voucher to book appointment and I thought it was safe to give. Only to realize what a CHEAT this company was. They redeemed the voucher & when contacted Living social about it, they said we can not help it as you would have to get the money from them. After lot of dilly-dallying I gave up on both and decided to go to NJ CONSUMER AFFAIRS to file a COMPLAINT against the company. Sometimes its a fight about Ethics more than Money. OMG don't waste your money...call Stanley Steamer and get a real professional to clean your carpets! I had Carmine the owner come over with 2 other guys. They arrived an hour and a half late. My carpets look worse than before they came! My carpets look like a zebra. You can see exactly where the carpets were cleaned and the areas they were not! I called Carmine to express my dissatisfaction and he was very rude and tried to convince me that is NORMAL! I guess he thinks because I'm a woman I don't have a clue! I bought a livingsocial deal for this company. The first time they came out they said they couldn't find the deal. I'd left work early and waited. The guys was nice and seemed apologetic and offered to come back as SOON as he heard from livingsocial. I emailed Living Social immediately and they said the deal was fine! WHen I called to re-schedule, the carpet place said to call the manager on his cell. Thought that was weird. He didn't answer. Tried to schedule again by email and came home from work, waited. We bought a Spin Saver voucher for this company/service. I just sent an email to Spin Saver to request they do not pay this vendor and refund our money. The only positive thing I can say is that the person arrived on time. Had a voucher for their 3 room carpet special. Only needed 1 room cleaned. Asked the 'technician' if he would do my stairs in lieu of the other 2 rooms. His response was 'you take care of me, I'll take care of you'. Then there was the push for pet stain/germ additive (at additional cost, of course). Have pets but, no, didn't feel the need for that. Then was asked if I wanted my carpet 'deep cleaned, down through the padding'. Really, isn't that what I'm paying for? I told him that when I have my carpets cleaned I expect they are 'deep cleaned' and no, I'm not paying extra for that either! Explained to him at the start of the process that 2 large pieces of furniture in the room did not need to be moved. He proceeded to start cleaning my living room carpet and stairs. At the end of 30 minutes, he was done. Did not move one piece of furniture. Told him I was very disappointed with the service as none of the furniture had been moved. He stated that had he done that, the wood stain would bleed onto the wet carpet. I responded that every other carpet cleaning service I've used in the past moves all of the furniture and has protective pieces to put under the furniture for that purpose. Not another word from him. He just packed up his stuff and left. Obviously he was not 'taken care of' for cleaning the stairs. I don't know if my carpets were actually cleaned or just have soapy wet water on them. You can't see any discharge water with the machine he used so there is no way to tell. I do know he put soap in the machine but not sure what, if any, dirt may have been extracted. The only recommendation I can give is to NOT USE this company! I'm another that wishes I could choose ZERO STARS. read more

Not sure if this is the same Carpet Rescue Plus. My Groupon voucher had the same name but phone number 609-234-2783.Carpet Rescue Plus does not have this phone number on their website, so that is another reason to be suspicious. I got whole house duct cleaning coupon. They showed up in personal van, gave me some story that what i bought can't be whole house cleaning including all returns. That kind of job takes 3.5 hours. Told me to read fine print. I showed them my printed receipt and asked to point out where it was and they could not. But they called groupon that quickly changed description to reflect that. But of cause groupon already sold hundreds of these vouchers before they changed the description. I told them to clean what they think i am entitled to and they were done in less than 30 minutes. I was presented with a bill to pay tax for actual value of this bs, which they valued at 249. When i made appointment they never told me about tax on some fake value. In my years of using vouchers i was never asked to pay tax on some fake value only tip which is optional. When i told them i am not paying this they basically threatened me. Moral of this story stay away from them and remember groupon biz needs them, suckers who jump on low prices are easy to find. Yelp, we need some negative stars, but i guess you are in biz of selling vouchers as well so we will never see it. These guys are awful. I bought a Groupon coupon to have my dryer vent cleaned. This is a 10 minute job but because of the way they "work" it turned in to a 2 visit nightmare. The day after the vents were "cleaned out" when I turned the dryer on it smelled like something was burning! they returned a day later and said, "Sometimes lint and dust can fall into the back of the dryer. That's what's burning" They charge ME $50 to clean this out. Shouldn't they have prevented this in the 1st place? I have a stackable washer/dryer that fits into the wall. They struggled for 30 minutes before busting the water hoses. After a trip to Home Depot and replacing the hoses again they begin the struggle of putting the units back. Finally after 2 hours they get it in the spot but not before I saw one guy on the floor with his back against the washer and his feet on the wall trying to push the unit! He puts a nice big dent in the front and then puts his hand in the washer and bangs the drum against the front in an attempt to "pop out" the dent! An hour after they left I went to use the washer and just like Murphy's Law the hoses are on backwards. I call them and they say the builder made a mistake. What??? I have lived here for 20 yrs!! I never called back and NEVER came out to fix it. I pulled the unit out myself, switched the hoses and then me and my 76 year old mother pushed back into place in 10 minutes! I too would like to choose ZERO STARS!!!!!! I purchased a $45 Groupon Voucher and was not pleased with the service at all. They stated they would come at 8:00am, they showed up at 9:00am in a personal van, meaning they didn't have their own water and professional equipment to clean my carpets. My voucher was for 5 rooms to be cleaned so I requested 3 of my bedrooms, my dining room, my hallway instead of a room, my front and back steps. All of these things were supposed to be shampooed but can you tell me how all of these room which are very large sized rooms be cleaned in less than 45 minutes?????? Remember I told you they arrived at 9:00am and they were out of my house in their van by 9:50 (including loading and unloading their equipment). When I did the walk through it looked as if they vacuumed my floors with water. Not one stain was removed, in my daughters room there was a stain that happened the day before so with shampooing a rug professionally I'm sure that stain should have been removed easily especially from a professional service...NOT!!! My steps looked worse than they did before, certain areas of the steps that no one walks on had wet dirt in those areas....how is that? I questioned the owner and he stated I would have to get a deep cleaning and they would have to come every so often to clean my carpets throughout the year. How can you ask me to get other services when the initial service was not pleasing to me the consumer? Before he started I asked if I needed deep cleaning or just regular cleaning, he said either one and I said deep but he said he suggested regular would be fine for my carpet but when I questioned him afterwards he said my carpets would need a lot of work to come clean. So you tell me why wouldn't I need a deep cleaning from the beginning....very suspect!!! Purchased an Amazon local voucher. Very bad, disrespectful and unprofessional guys. One guy was reeking of cigarette smoke and the other appeared as if he is doing a favor to you by coming and cleaning. They want to charge extra for two feet of closet and 5 feet of hallway. And they still add taxes after the price you pay for voucher. And the steps are $2.50 per step. So a full set of steps would cost you another $25-$30. The guy who actually did the cleaning was doing it at a pace faster than you would use the regular vacuum. It was barely picking the water back up! Also, they ask for more money if you have stains. For three rooms, he took 18 minutes! And making an appointment was not easy either, after 5 pm means you keep waiting for these guys. If you are lucky, they will show up by 7 pm! I also did not like the fact that they were wearing the shoes all along. Basically, they "cleaned" the carpet and left their dirty shoe marks before they left!
