The cafe has plenty of seating, a few sofas, a selection of newspapers to peruse and lovely hot chocolate although it is a bit pricey, especially the cakes which veer towards £2 a slice. The monthly farmers market which attracts a wide variety of local farmers is well worth visiting, once you've tried Buffallo sausages you'll be hooked for life. The regular farm shop stocks the usual overpriced preserves, biscuits and extortionate sweets. The newly expanded discount book section is well worth a browse and they have a new line in stationary made from recycled sheep poo.

As part of its core business it has indoor plants, seasonal plants, herbaceous and wide of plants to suit different planting conditions. Within the garden centre there is a Garden Equipment shop selling lawn mowers and the like. There is also an aquatics centre, which sell a wide range of fish, including cold, tropical & marine. They also stock a wide range of aquariums, After walking around for a few hours you can rest and have a bite to eat at the Blue Parrot cafe (I think that's what it's called). Just outside the cafe there is a rather nice kids play area. We often go there as a family and everybody gets something out of it.

It's a nice place just to have a wander around to be honest, there's far too much and too many things for me to list. It also has good parking, and good disabled access, as well as friendly and helpful staff.

My missus gets very excited every time she goes in. We even honoured this place last year when we purchased our Christmas tree from here. Praise indeed. That covers the rest of the place really - you will get what you want here, it will be very good quality and it will be top money.

It's quite prominent on the main road so if you visit it, you can't miss it. It's got quite a large car park but can get very busy in there on weekends. Product wise, it's got a really good choice and is a nice place to come and have a look around even if you don't want to get anything as you can easily pass an hour or so here. First off when you get in there's a coffee shop which does a range of snacks and some meals. It's not cheap in here but there are plenty of seats and the foods ok. Inside the rest of the garden centre you have giftware, books, magazines, some sweets and food, pet supplies and garden items such as lawnmowers etc. Outside is quite big and they do a large range of plants and shrubs, most of the shrubs are arranged alphabetically in rows, and the plants are split into types, however I would say have a good walkabout as things aren't always obvious. There is a water gardens and pond/aquatic section too with a really good choice of fish, accessories and tanks. You can also pick up garden pots (and they often have some on offer), ornaments, stepping stones etc that are a bit different. The staff here are pretty helpful, we've asked them before when buying lawnmowers and they've put one aside for us while we've been at work. Prices are not too bad, and the quality seems pretty good. For those people into crafts, there is a separate concession inside the store that sells lots of crafting products, a wide range of papers, stamps, card making items etc.

The restaurant is excellent quality and beats most good National Trust eateries. The selection of plants is great but not overwhelming. There are thoughtful elements like parking in front of the compost which is stored in the car park and the ability to pay inside without having to carry 200 litres of soil around the shop. The staff are all great and super helpful. I felt the price was competitive and lower than some other big brand garden centres. Definitely worth a couple of hours.

What more can one ask? The last time I ate in the cafe, which can get very hot as its all glass, a robin was dancing across tables and saying hello to people. Unhygienic perhaps but great nonetheless. The food, as a rule, is lovely, but they stop serving hot meals at 2pm - unless you want to get stuff that's been sitting out, eat as close to then as possible. My fiancee and I bought a converter thingymajig for around two quid allowing us to turn run of the mill 2 litre plastic bottles into birdfeeders. An invention of Dragons Den proportions, and a handy way of not spending a bundle on containers to feed tits and things. For gardeners this place is a must, in my opinion. Its one drawback, I think, the toilets are a bit of a trek from the cafe. For pensioners or those with mobility issues, this can prove a problem.

To get into the garden centre on during the festive season you have to walk through a snowy path where they display all their trees. They do also sell real Christmas trees outside.

They offer an erection service and are very well priced. In January each year they sell off the previous seasons sheds at a greatly reduced price. There are some seroius bargains to be had. Their plants are nothing to write home about. They offer a reasonable range of paving and aggregates but these can be expensive as can their concrete garages.
