We've had several rainy days here lately. And on these days I prefer to eat in, but rather than cooking, I like to order out from some of my favorite restaurants via DoorDash, or to explore and discover ones that I've never tried before. Last night, searching on the DoorDash app for a restaurant to order from when I found out that the restaurant I intended to order from (Cuban Island) was closed, I ran into Carrabba's Italian Grill and its New item on the menu: "Filet & Shrimp Toscana." The entrée was described as: "Fettuccine with spinach and mushrooms, tossed in a roasted garlic cream sauce. Topped with sliced filet and wood-grilled shrimp." Above this description it had a beautiful, appetizing photo of the entrée. Now, I've dined at this restaurant located in the outskirts of the Valley View Mall before and have written a Yelp review about it, it's food, and my dining experience documented by plenty of my photographs which I invite you to read and view. I went ahead and ordered it through DoorDash with a price of $31.49 which didn't seem high if it contained quality filet and shrimp. I really appreciated that their DoorDash ordering site asked the question: "How would you like your steak cooked?" I choose the answer: "Medium Rare: Warm Red Center." The entrée came with a Caesar Salad and they gave you the option to substitute it for another side. I kept the Caesar Salad, and went ahead and made the order. The DoorDasher arrived with my order at the estimated delivery time quoted on my order confirmation email. She was very friendly and handed me a large shopping bag with my order and the order receipt stapled to the bag. As a VIP DoorDash customer I could appreciate how well she had handled the bag. Inside there were three containers: one with the Caesar Salad, one with my main entrée, and a bag containing a piece of the special loaf of bread they give you at their restaurant sliced up and wrapped in a paper to keep it warm. Also inside of this bag came a little Italian dipping oil bag consisting of extra virgin olive oil, and a tiny plastic bowl filled with a blend of herbs like garlic, oregano, and red pepper flakes. All this and a set of quality black plastic utensils. I first made the Italian dipping oil mixing the oil with the herbs and enjoy eating it after dipping the bread in it. Then I enjoyed eating my Caesar Salad which was delicious. And then the main entrée. The Fettuccine tasted amazing and it had tender and savory pieces of filet cooked to perfection together with shrimps, mushrooms, and spinach, in an outstanding roasted garlic cream sauce. One has to give the Carrabba's line cooks credit for passionately preparing, portioning, and cooking their quality food to exact corporate recipe specifications, guided and supervised by their kitchen manager who is also considered their head of kitchen operations. What an amazing dining experience I was able to have at home with Carrabba's exceptional food and attention to detail of it employees who had anything to do in cooking and preparing my order for delivery. I highly recommend this Italian restaurant and am looking forward to returning to their brick-and-mortar location to enjoy some more of their customer choice award-winning food and the presence of their kind and friendly employees, remaining loyal to the well known Italian hospitality. read more

I had one of the most frustrating dining experiences I've ever encountered at Carrabba's Italian Grill, and unfortunately, it's not something I can just overlook. From the moment we were seated, the service was noticeably poor and only continued to get worse as the night went on. To start, our server seemed completely disengaged. After taking our initial drink order, they disappeared for an extended period of time. When the drinks finally arrived, it was already a long wait--but what made it worse was that once they were empty, they stayed that way for well over 10 minutes. We sat there with empty glasses, trying to flag someone down, but our server was nowhere to be found. It felt like we were being completely ignored. We had also ordered soup and salad to come before our meal, which is pretty standard. However, those never showed up at all. Not late--just never. No explanation, no apology, nothing. Our entrées arrived, and we were left wondering what happened to the first part of our order. It's basic service to ensure courses come out correctly, and this was completely missed. Throughout the meal, the server would vanish for long stretches of time. Every time we needed something--refills, utensils, even just a quick check-in--it turned into a waiting game. Getting drink refills took forever, and by the time we finally got someone's attention, it felt like more of a hassle than it should ever be. A simple dining experience turned into constant frustration. Overall, the lack of attentiveness, poor timing, and complete absence of communication made this visit extremely disappointing. It honestly felt like we were an afterthought the entire time. Between the empty drinks, missing soup and salad, and the server disappearing repeatedly, this was far from an enjoyable experience. We are regulars at this restaurant and this by far is the worst experience we have ever had at any restaurant we have been to ever! I only tipped something to be gracious but in reality I should have not tipped anything. To make matters worse at the end of the meal is when the waitress showed up eyeing our table like a hawk waiting for me to sign the check. I would expect better from Carrabba's! We would have been better off going to Chic-Fil-a. I would not recommend this location if you're expecting even average service. read more

Even though it was a Friday night, I hardly had to wait for a seat. Meal was excellent, I had the special three item feast. My waitress was good? Did a real good job but seemed to be upset at me for asking if she was seventeen. I feel like she sort of snarled back; "no, I'm twenty three!" Nevertheless, I added a $10 tip. :) read more

We always loved Carabbas, for the atmosphere. They have a few things on their menu that I always order and that are good. Today we decided to order from their lunch menu and my son ordered the chicken parm sandwich. Bread was undercooked and the sandwich was empty, it just had a piece of chicken with a tiny bit of sauce. He ended up eating half of my caprese sandwich, which again had not fully baked bread and was low on ingredients but a bit better.. read more

We love coming here! Food is always fresh and served hot. Service is always professional (except one bad experience I think she was new?) sangria is delicious and so is the calamari. It's our go to casual upscale spot. You get a good amount of food for what you pay and are seated promptly most nights. We enjoy it and will keep coming back! read more

We came here for dinner after a long day of driving and we're glad we did. We had a combo app which had mozzarella sticks , stuffed mushrooms, calamari with a marinara sauce . We split it and was great . Our meals came with soups and my wife had a lentil sausage soup and I had the chicken noodle. Again very tasty and flavorful. For our main course I had a salmon dish with spinach . Wife had scallops with a vodka sauce over linguine. We enjoyed them both . Our waitress was great! Pleasant and helpful and the restaurant was very clean . We have been trying this chain in our travels and have been liking it very much. read more

I want to preface this by saying that my server, Lissy was fantastic and that I was never unkind or short-tempered. I have no doubt she would attest to that. Nothing else about this experience was positive. I went to this Carrabba's after work because I was starving and craving eggplant parmesan. They brought chicken parm by mistake. No big deal. I got Lissy's attention, let her know that I'm a vegetarian, and she took it back to get eggplant for me. She brought the eggplant, I thanked her and began eating. Part way through, I saw a black hair sticking out from underneath the eggplant medallions. I lifted up the eggplant and discovered that there were THREE short, black hairs sitting on the plate and a longer hair cooked into the eggplant and hanging out of it. I do not believe for a second that this was not an intentional act of retaliation for sending back the chicken. I asked Lissy about it and she said it wasn't, that the "girl" has long hair and that it was tied back. I could see one hair escaping, but not three pieces sitting on the plate under my food and one cooked into it. Furthermore, a friend I told about this immediately said that when she worked in a restaurant after college, any time something was sent back for any reason, the kitchen staff would do something gross to it. It was so bad that to this day, if she sends something back she won't accept a replacement; she just requests it be taken off the bill. Lissy told me that her manager wanted to give me a card to eat free next time. What's even weirder is that the manager never came to speak to me or to apologize. He/She made Lissy deal with the entire thing. Despite all of this, I was still nice. I didn't want to ruin the experience for the party of 6 next to me so I took my plate to the bar to talk to my server there. I requested to be charged for the salad so I could still leave a tip. I was charged one penny to allow for a tip and I left 30% based on what I thought the bill would have been. I did not deserve what the kitchen staff gave me today and they do not deserve to still be working there this time tomorrow. read more

My daughter really enjoyed this place. The hostesses and waitress were very good. We felt welcome for sure and the service was good. I got the veggie ravioli. It was OK. I wouldn't order it again. I always sit at the bar. Food is great...the chicken soup for lunch filled me up and I took most of the angel hair and meatballs & sauce home. If you're lucky you'll get Lissy as a bartender. Very friendly, never in a bad mood and great service. Just be sure to use your indoor voice....BWHAHAHAHAHA. They used to have this fish on a lattice potato cake around Christmas...been several years now. I sure wish they'd bring it back...permanently. read more

Wow let me tell you something. Never have I ever laughed so hard that I cried because of my waitress, until today. Not only was the food superb, but the service was truly impeccable. We came their busiest day of the year, the day before Mother's Day, but our waitress Michelle was unphased. Her joy and contagious laughter really enhanced our experience. Sadly, Jason Kroeger, former proprietor, MADE this place what it was in every aspect. New proprietor? Didn't even have his nose covered with his mask the entire visit. Also, I knew he was the new partner, not because he did anything to introduce himself or interact with customers, the way it used to be. Started by being placed next to 2 other tables in a mostly empty restaurant right next to the kitchen. Social distancing in a restaurant was a thing WAY before COVID. Why overload a section and stack guests at the noisiest and busiest section of the entire place? Our new waitress, Jennifer, was the highlight of our experience. The young lady who came out to 'teach' her how to open a bottle of Prosecco!? Not so much. I was genuinely mortified the cork was about to fly across the room and take out god knows who/what since she refused to put her thumb over it once the cage was off. I'm a sommelier, but still. Common sense says protect the room! Treat it like a loaded weapon. Lobster ravioli was ok, but the sauce lacked true flavor and was so thin and so meager, I was unimpressed. Mark came over when I asked him to to brag on Jennifer and he finally pulled his mask up after talking with us for a min, but had an apple AirPod in!? On the floor!? Sadly, won't return. The meal itself I ordered was okay but the service was disappointing. I came with my team and we had a very big group. Even though we had made a reservation days in advance, the staff was not prepared and we had to wait around 30 minutes to be seated. Sometimes you get what you get from "chain" restaurants. Carrabba's is a bit better than that. A solid, decent, yet dependable place. Service has always been welcoming and helpful. Ambiance is good, for a chain. I guess what I like most about this place is it's decent quality food with prices that are reasonable and it's menu selection provides something most anyone could find for their liking. Lastly, if you want something added to your meal that doesn't normally come with it, they seem to find a way to accommodate you without charging for it... within reason of course. read more

It's a Carrabba's so you get what you'd expect from a chain Italian restaurant although I'd hope for better consistency than what I got at my last visit at this particular location. I ordered the chicken parmesan with a side salad and bread. The chicken Parm was dry and tough making it hard to cut and the pasta side was way over cooked. The bread was stale and hard as a rock. The side salad was good... Standards seem to be slipping and with the cost of going out to eat increasing I'm not sure this place is worth my money anymore. read more

We were in this Carrabas location for a big birthday party. At least 11 of us. We were treated by Becca, who served us all night. Accommodating and very fast service. No issues on anything ordered. I've eaten at Karaba's all over the country and they are all normally very good if not excellent. The service is always friendly and attentive and the atmosphere is cool and welcoming. This Carrabba'S location next to the Valleyview mall has the worst customer service I've ever experienced. Not only do they never answer the phone when they do they hang up on you. I ordered through DoorDash and tried to make a last minute addition of extra sauce. I called four times to get through and was hung up on three times. After speaking with one of the hostesses, I explained the situation and she said that she would take care of it. Took down my name order everything. When the DoorDash arrived, there was no sauce on my fettuccine. I take it as a stab at me. It's not fettuccine Alfredo without the Alfredo. Do better Carrabba's please. I would be so upset as an owner to know how terrible the customer service is. It's a direct reflection on the owner and the owners ability to maintain the minimum of standards. Subpar. read more

This Italian chain offers consistently good food at great prices. I had two hours to kill before my flight from ROA and hoped to relax and enjoy a meal. Instead I was rushed. Salad came out while I was still eating my appetizer, meal came out before I finished the salad and the server asked if I wanted desert while I was still on the main course. Unfortunate and the reason for three stars. Their calamari was ok. The marinara sauce a bit lose but I enjoyed it. I tried the veal Marcella and fount it ok too, but the pasta was way over cooked.
