Giving three stars because my waitress was so great. But the food...the food is nothing like the Red Lobster I knew and loved. I'm talking specifically the Admiral's Feast. It is obvious they have switched to the cheapest distributor they could find. The fried seafood was absolutely flavorless. Even the blue cheese dressing has been downgraded. The only thing good about this visit was (again) my waitress and the wine. And honestly, the wine was overly priced at 14.97 a glass. The Crab legs were awesome, nice and hot. The biscuits and cocktail shrimp were delicious. Only issue was the biscuits fell too easily but that meant they were fresh, so no complaints. My server was great and fast, she also knew what she was serving. The ambience was ok, only complaint I have was I heard everyone in the kitchen where I was sitting. We stopped by here as our hotel was in the area and have t had this in a while. We started with a couple of festive drinks at the bar and then got seated. The dining area wasn't too busy as the bartenders that was serving us, because our waitress I had the daily special of crab legs with a baked potato and the wife had flounder filet. But we're great and glad we stopped by here. Our server was great and tended to our needs . Prices and drinks were reasonable. My wife and I were interested in getting some seafood and we we live out here in Roanoke area. There's not too many good restaurants in the area so maybe we get red lobster a chance but I wasn't that impressed. My bill was $73.27 for us to eat and we didn't get drinks we got water. My wife had fish and chips and I had the bar Harbor lobster bake which wasn't all that great with with two clam chowder small at 599 each what that impressfor the price it wasn't worth it. I don't recommend the place. It's really going downhill. You're better off to go to London on Silver's and they're expensive too. The food was just OK wasn't impressed not for the price. read more

Red Lobster used to be a great place to go for seafood. We have eaten at Red Lobster all over the country for many years. Sadly, the quality has deteriorated in recent years and it's no wonder the company is trying to figure out how to get back on track. Well, you can start with this location. My wife ordered the clam chowder and salad. I ordered the seafood platter with lobster, crab legs, shrimp scampi with 2 sides. Cole slaw and fettuccine Alfredo. My wife's soup had hardly any liquid and was very thick and gelatinous. My lobster was tiny and dry. The crab legs were also dry. The salad had a bunch of brown lettuce and looked unappealing. So my wife told the waitress about the soup and she said to my wife, "That's the way clam chowder is served" l responded with a loud NO. The waitress then said, "it's ok, if you don't like it I'll talk to the manager" as if it was just a problem with my wife and not the old soup. STOP serving leftovers and bring back the red clam chowder. And serve it fresh. Service was good except for the soup thing. The water was also good. The restaurant itself is not so clean. For a chain restaurant, most everything about our recent weekday dinner visit (party of 3), dining experience and items we ordered was pretty spot on here at the Christiansburg Red Lobster. We were seated promptly when we arrived. The interior was classic Red Lobster decor with dark lighting but nice, spotless and clean. The menu was huge - lots of delectable seafood choices including a specials/seasonal menu insert. The menus looked brand new so I'm guessing they were newly printed - ? Maybe with new, higher prices - ? Not having been to a Red Lobster in quite a while, I was a bit surprised at how pricey most of the entrees were. In the $20+ and $30+ range. That's the same kind of pricing you would see in a higher end restaurant, not what you would expect from a family chain like Red Lobster which I would liken to a TGI Friday's, Applebees, Chili's, Ruby Tuesday. We managed to find some reasonably priced entrees to order - one of us, a non seafood person ordered the Wagyu Bacon Cheeseburger (Wagyu beef at a chain restaurant, really? I'm skeptical...), the other ordered the Salmon New Orleans entree and I ordered the linguine fettuccine alfredo with shrimp. Alternately I thought about ordering one of the shrimp appetizer dishes as my entree/meal. The shrimp appetizers come with 6 shrimp instead of 12 for an entree which is plenty big enough for me along with maybe a soup or side order of fettuccine. And of course who can forget the free unlimited and famous Red Lobster cheddar bay biscuits! Let's be truthful - those could serve as a meal in and of themselves THEY ARE SO GOOD. AND SO BAD FOR YOU lol. But who's watching and who cares!! Ha! Our waitress kept refilling our empty basket and even brought us a to-go bag of them! I also ordered their Grand Patrón Margarita OMG. First of all, it's HUGE. Did not know how big it was when I ordered it. I ended up sharing sips lol. Second - it was AMAZING. Also, I always ask for extra rim salt on my on-the-rocks margs. Soooo good. They give you the shot of Grand Marnier (an absolute must ingredient in any on-the-rocks marg, trust me on this) in a "sidecar" attached to the glass. Classy. (See my pic.) Pour it into the drink, stir and enjoy. Food: Everything came out piping hot. The Salmon New Orleans was missing the shrimp when it came out lol. But shortly thereafter, the shrimp in cajun butter sauce came out separately and was delish poured onto the salmon. The shrimp linguine fettuccine alfredo was just the right size meal, creamy delicious with the shrimp cooked just right. Very dense, rich and filling but that's how it goes with fettuccine alfredo. The Wagyu Bacon Cheeseburger was good. Came with fries which we always ask to be cooked well done crispy and they came out piping hot, fresh and crispy delicious. Service was awesome. Our waitress was super attentive, friendly and engaging. All in all, we enjoyed our dining experience and, in a pinch (we were in town visiting), we would consider going here again when we are back visiting but with the realization that entree prices have gone up considerably. We got out of there, party of 3, for around $66 not including tip (we tipped our waitress well for her excellent service). Reasonable for what we ordered I think. But, whereas back in the day this would be a place you might reliably frequent often for their value pricing, Red Lobster in general due to their price increases now seems more like a special occasion type place. read more

Let's just start off with the biscuits. Those are some pretty darn good biscuits, for sure. I was quite pleased with the Soy-Ginger Salmon. It was a very nice glaze on top of the salmon that kind of gives it a almost sweet taste. I will say the brussel sprouts were over-seasoned with the sauce but nonetheless was cooked pretty well. Our server was very kind although it was a bit busy. Solid service, pretty solid food. My friends had the Shrimp Alfredo which honestly was VERY heavy (creamy). The steak and lobster has a smaller portion size than expected but still tastes pretty alright. Again, decent restaurant. Giving it 4 stars just because I was pretty satisfied. We drove for an hour to eat at the Red Lobster in Chrisiansburg, VA. Sadly all of the locations closer to our homes had closed; I now understand why. Once our order finally arrived it was cold, once heated, the worst meal I have ever attempted to eat was placed before me. The lobster tail as well as the crab legs had no taste what so ever, I was shocked and extremely disappointed for I paid forty dollars for this meal that tasted like a boiled sock. My friend ordered the dragon shrimp which tasted like it was fried batter absent the shrimp. The only good item for our long journed, extremely long wait, and one hundred dollars less was the biscuits. We will not eat at a red lobster again. I was informed the cook did not use seasoning with the lobster or the crab legs. Some one needs to send this person a bottle of Old Bay or a few cooking classes. read more

Got seated in a reasonable amount of time . We had the slowest waitress ever . The food was good , very good but our waitress was so slow and just left the dirty dishes pile up on our table . We ordered endless shrimp and got a couple refills having to wait for them we filled up on beverages. But again food excellent. It was out waitress she just wasn't very attentive. The rest of the staff was very active . Management was polite and working as well. I believe our waitress was Susie. When you sit down to a dirty menu and a hair on your napkin it's not shaping up to be the best. Cesar side salad came with practically no dressing. While going through Chriastiansburg VA, on September 3, 2022, we stopped here for a late lunch and were absolutely thrilled with our experience! Our server, Josh, was attentive and prompt with our perfectly prepared calamari,baskets our delicious biscuits, and our main courses of lobster topped flounder and shrimp and scallops. Even the ice tea was delicious! The one thing that perplexed us was how empty the restaurant was at 3:30 on a Saturday afternoon. Thank you Josh and Red Lobster. Visited for the wifes birthday. The wife wanted the broiled flounder and guess what? A seafood restaurant that was out of broiled flounder. A lady at the table near us wanted oysters and guess what? No oysters. I ordered the Admirals feast which was served hot and would have been much better if the catsup that they passed off for cocktail sauce would have actually been cocktail sauce. Waitress said that the catsup and the cocktail sauce dispensers were exchanged earlier and the perhaps there was catsup still in the dispenser when swapped out. Gotta ask, didn't they wash the dispensers when the exchange was made. This restaurant is too pricey to allow such lackadaisical behavior. Will we return? Unlikely. read more

I grew up with only ever going to this Red Lobster, and I've never had a bad experience. However, I will just give a review for my latest experience from earlier this week since the last time I came here was a few years ago. Our server was Shannon, and he is definitely the epitome of Southern hospitality. I was so grateful that he was our server while my Australian husband was seeing where I grew up for the first time. He made sure to introduce himself and assured us several times that he would be providing the best service he possibly can-- and he did! He was kind and patient while taking our orders and answering our questions, and he made sure to check up on us every 10- 15 minutes or so, even when he was juggling several tables during the lunch rush. Our food was what we expected-- delicious seafood that's in line with the American tradition of trying to clog our arteries-- exactly what we wanted for my husband's last day visiting the US. Seriously, though, the stuffed mushroom appie, coconut shrimp, salad, and lobster & shrimp overboard were all delicious and filling. I got to experience my typical restaurant visit at a local chain. Crappy service while be sat next to two screaming babies! Yay me! I'm not a frequent visitor to Red Lobster but some friends wanted to go so I joined. They weren't that busy in fact lots of empty tables so they didn't have the excuse of being slammed with patrons for the poor service or slow kitchen time. The server we had was beyond horrible. Rather than serving from your right, she served across the person to my left the entire visit. Oh there was that time she finally reached across my friend to my left to grab the stack of dirty plates that had accumulated in front of me. When she tried her across the table move, I held the plates to my left and my friends right so she had to walk around him in order to retrieve them. Oh and I forgot that she never mentioned the plate was scorching hot and I dropped it loudly with a not too pleasant word but thankfully screaming baby with unresponsive parents (quietly whispering shhh, shhh) drowned out my pain of burning my hand. Then the checks came, all wrong but we fixed them between ourselves and she will probably finish her shift and be pissed because her tips were less than stellar. Hello! Not our first visit to a Red Lobster and also not our first visit to this one. We make frequent trips to Blacksburg and on this day wanted something different for lunch. We remembered that they were running their all-you-can eat shrimp special on Mondays and it is available at lunch so we stopped in. The place was moderately busy but not bad. The shrimp was very good and we were given the chance to eat as much as we wanted. My companion got a salad with his which he did not eat with the hopes of taking it home and eating it as another meal. The waitress never asked if she could box it for us to take along. The service was somewhat lacking but not terrible. It would have been nice if she's volunteered to box the salad. Its not like we were smuggling shrimp home with us. read more

Met our family here for a Mothers Day dinner on a Saturday afternoon. Everyone that was with us traveled at least 40 minutes just to eat here at our Grandmother's request. Boy was it a bad decision. After waiting an hour for a table, they seated our party of 9 at a booth that usually seats 6. We had 2 kids so it was barely doable since one is a toddler, but the fact we HAD 2 kids also made it unbearable. When we complained the waitress was snarky and said we would have to wait a while for a table... like we hadn't already waited an hour or something. We ate with our elbows smashed to our sides the whole meal, and the 2 people on the end kept half their rears off the seat. When our food finally arrived, it was mediocre at best. The 2 kids meal Mac N Cheese dishes we ordered were EXACTLY Kraft Cheese and Mac from the Box. Yet they charge $5.50 each, when we could have split a box for the same portions or more for .99. We never had enough silverware settings, despite multiple requests. The waitress dropped a dish at one of our family members because it was hot (It wasnt that hot) and it splashed on him. The waitress continued to be a passive aggresive smartass the entire meal, with a super polite tone which made it worse. For the price they charge, the food came in smaller portions than pictured on the menus, and they charged 2 of our mother's an additional $4 each just to swap shrimp types on their platters (simple scampi switch in flavoring, not type) Will never eat at another Red Lobster period, let alone this one. I love Red Lobster. This specific Red Lobster has some problems. The lobby smells like urine. The hostess kept dozing off while leaning on the wall or texting on her phone in the drawer under the check in sheet. The wait was longish so we decided to eat at the very small (four seats) bar. Before we could take the open seats, the hostess told a family with a baby that they could wait there. There is no toilet paper in the women's restroom. There is trash all along the floor. It looked like it had seen better days; perhaps it is no wonder the lobby smells strongly of pee! This franchise was saved from 1 star review due to my partner's deep love of cheese biscuits and that the kitchen was perfect with my gluten free needs (they have a really cool app that does allergies that was super easy to use.) It got another star because our specific waitress, H, was effective and warm. Her accent was especially charming. Be warned, while it looks okay, this place is in rough shape. We tried the 2 for $30 menu, ordering for me: Chicken Noodle Soup for appetizer, Habanero coconut shrimp & citrus-Grilled shrimp & Brownies a la mode for dessert. All three dishes were amazing, but I was blown away by the entree. I love the coconut flakes flavor that comes through with each bite of the shrimp & the entree portion was decent enough I didn't over-stuff myself. I'm a huge dessert/sweets person so the Brownies a la mode was HEAVEN. We came to Red Lobster on a Saturday night before the 4th of July. Christiansburg is mostly a college town with VTech nearby and a few other smaller colleges. Most of the crowds were families & we were seated in a small two person booth. I hate when restaurants have space but seat you in the smallest booth possible in the restaurant. You might as well try to shove us near the bathroom too or kitchen door while you're at it. The server was a bit rude and seemed annoyed that we were there. We placed our order and I remembered why I hadn't been to Red Lobster in years. The food is always sub-par and the only 'perk' is the drinks & the biscuits. The garlic-grilled shrimp was dry & small (not like the pictures at all) and the crab wasn't filling enough (I did the 2 entrees for $15). We were traveling through Christiansburg and decided to stop in to have some seafood. The place was very clean. The bathrooms were spotless and servers were wiping down the tables and chairs and all were were wearing masks. Our server was extremely attentive and friendly and the food came out timely. The restaurant had a good amount of people and only had to wait about 20 minutes. They went over and above to make us feel safe and comfortable during these crazy, covid times. The food was amazing! We started with the stuffed mushrooms...the bomb! My wife got the Lobster Lover's Dream and I had the fish and chips. My wife raved about the lobster and my dish was absolutely delicious!
