I wanted to get new floors for my mom because she didn't like the LVP we installed last year, as it was too much of a rustic look with many knots. We wanted a cleaner, modern, brighter color that would suit a modern home. I contacted David at Carrera's because it was a flooring specialty store that had a great selection that you won't find at big box stores like Home Depot, Lowes, and Floor and Decor. David knows his stuff when it comes to flooring. I asked him a lot of questions about flooring to make sure I chose the right type of floors. For example, he suggested WPC because it's warmer and more comfortable underfoot than an SPC LVP or glue-down LVP. I bought a box of the Lions Floor WPC Seaside Summit Collection, Sandstone Whispers LVP. David was kind enough to personally deliver the box since we were only a couple of miles away from the store. I laid it in our home to make sure the aesthetic was clean before committing to installing it in our entire home. We liked how it look so I called him back to make the deposit. We were able to schedule the installation for the following week. There were three workers and they all knew what they were doing. They prepped and spot leveled the concrete subfloor by skim coating it with cement compound. It took about 3 days to install the floors in the entire house, bathrooms included. We are very happy with the new floors. If you need new floors, you really can't go wrong with this company. read more

This is around two months overdue. To make a long story short I bought a carpet from one of these large do it yourself centers. Their contractor called me and said that it would be six weeks before they could come and install my carpet. That was unacceptable, especially since I had furniture being delivered in two weeks. I found Carreras Carpet on Yelp and they were close to work. I went on my lunch and made a deal . We got about 5 quotes. A couple were outrageous, but three were all around the same amount. The owner came out personally to give a quote, and recommended some options. After all the quotes came in, went with Carreras. We ended up getting high quality seconds, and the installation took 2.5 days because of a couple special requirements in terms of the stairs and the second floor foundation that needed to be taken care of. They charged a reasonable amount more to resolve those things. Overall really happy with the service and price and would recommend them to anyone in the area. read more

DISHONEST and HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. Had a horribly unfortunate experience with David, who was previously highly recommended. I had a full (2700sf) vinyl plank install scheduled for my rental in Terra Lago, with a required project completion date. One of his employees got sick, and David didn't have any back-up plans, and poorly communicated the delays. Seemed pretty indifferent to the whole thing - awful at resource management. I found another vendor to install another product on time, and told David I wouldn't be able to use his product. I paid him a restocking fee to pick up his flooring. He claimed that 15 boxes were missing and billed me $1000 for them and accused me of stealing them. We never counted them in together, and we never counted them out. No owner approval for either. As a homeowner that can barely change a lightbulb, I have 0 incentive to steal and resell 15 boxes of flooring. But you know who does - him and his installer have plenty of reasons Or, the error was his in not accurately counting his inventory and not having delivery / pick-up signed for. Either way, dishonest and aggressive. I don't think he can be trusted. read more

This is a two part review. First part is from work done in May 2019. My parents are elderly and needed new flooring in their formal living room and on their stairs. I contacted Carreras Carpet and David was out to give them a quote the next day. My mom is very picky, so to make sure she was getting exactly what she wanted David suggested she come out to the show room. They were very accommodating and patient with her. Their prices are very reasonable and they do quality work. Flash forward to last week. My parents had a spare bedroom painted and at the last minute decided they wanted to remove the carpet and put in new flooring. My mom asked me to contact David as she was extremely pleased with Carreras Carpets. Within two days of contacting David, someone was out to give a quote and one week later the work was done in one day. They even replaced to old base boards for a reasonable amount. I went to a couple of carpet places before selecting Carreras, but ended up selecting them because they were competitive on price and they were able to meet my deadline of getting the installation done in a week. During the on-site consultation, they gave me some tips on what carpets colors would help hide stains (I have a newborn) and I showed them the samples I got at other places. They were even honest enough to tell me that I was quoted a good price at another place. Ended up closing the deal for a mid-tier carpet at $19/square yard including installation. Paid through Venmo so I wouldn't have to make a trip to their showroom. Installers showed up on time and finished the job the same day. This is truly a family business so you might be dealing with the son or the the mom. There's even a kids play set in the show room :-) I should note that the COVID precautions in their showroom is a little loose, their staff wasn't always wearing masks when customers were there. read more

Can't say enough good things about Carreras Carpets. We received the initial quotes from David via Yelp. He provided a few different options for flooring (carpet and/or laminate flooring), the prices were very competitive, so we set up an appointment to visit the showroom on a Saturday morning. We met with Greg, who showed us the different options that were quoted, as well as a couple of special deals they had going. We went with one of the deals, which added about $200.00 to the initial quotes, but we were very happy with what we got. We paid the deposit, and scheduled the installation about 4 weeks later. I spent tons of money with them for my shutters and I have one problem shutter. They do honor their warranty the problem is getting them to come out to do repairs or call back. It seems after they r we cieved a substantial amount of money we are low on the radar for repairs due to a faulty shutter installed. When I cam get them to come out one of the techs is extremely rude as to where 2 times now he walks out of the home and I think he is going to get something from the truck and just drives off with no communication what so ever. The installer is a great guy, wish their CUSTOMER SERVICE WAS AS GOOD AS HIM. I guess I will have to drive there tomorrow after waiting about a month for someone to call me back, sad part is if the first rude person would hav r listened to me could have told him about the problem on the other slate from the one being broke. I wasn't allowed or worthy of his time is my assumption. They are great at getting the buisness and have great prices but after they cash the check seems like they don't really care to rectify problems. My time is worth money just as theirs is, I would not refer people to them unless they want to make a job out of trying to reach them to fix problems. read more

From coming out to our home to provide a free quote to meeting us at their showroom to view flooring options, he was with us every step of the way. He helped to educate us on the pros and cons of different flooring options and we eventually settled on a newer flooring material that is tough, easy to install (like laminate) but also 100% waterproof (unlike laminate).
