Carriage House Catering provided food and dinner service at our company's holiday party this year at the Whitlock Inn in Marietta. Carriage House is located on-site and is the official caterer of the Whitlock Inn. The company caters a variety of events throughout metro Atlanta and serves different types of cuisine from Asian to European to American Southern. The dinner and service we received was good. There was a dinner buffet, dessert table, water and tea station, and coffee station. The catering company did not provide alcohol because the inn does not have a liquor license. We had to supply our own alcohol. The dinner buffet had a traditional and elegant presentation. It consisted of the following dishes (in order): Mixed Field Salad - with cherries, walnuts, and a spiced orange vinaigrette Hot Charleston Crab Dip - served with flat breads Red Skin Mashed Potatoes Sauteed Seasonal Vegetables - included carrots, zucchini, and asparagus Roasted Salmon Fillets - with pomegranate buerre blanc (white butter) Sliced Prime Rib - with rosemary au jus and spicy horseradish Dinner Rolls The dessert table was beautifully set up with a gingerbread house in the middle. Desserts included: Derby Pie - chocolate bourbon pecan pie Creme Brulee - with fresh berries Baked Brie Coffee was stored in an ornate silver dispenser. The coffee station was fun. It included chocolate shavings and a bowl of whipped cream to add to the coffee. The water and tea station had a wide bucket of ice, two dispensers of tea (one sweet, one unsweet), and a dispenser of water. For a buffet, the food was quite alright. What I liked most about it was that it was healthy. Salmon is always a good protein to eat and there were a lot of vegetables, which I appreciated. The dinner rolls were plain and the salmon was dry. Other than that, everything else was good. I went back for seconds. My favorite items from the dinner buffet were the field salad, mashed potatoes, and vegetables. The cherries, walnuts, and spiced orange vinaigrette really made the salad enjoyable and flavorful. The mashed potatoes were consistently soft and appetizing. The veggies were fresh and, best of all, tasty. My favorite dessert was, without a doubt, the chocolate bourbon pecan pie. I love pecan pie and the the derby pie was an interesting, chocolatey twist. Needless to say, I had to stop myself from eating too much. I almost stuffed myself silly and left the party borderline painfully full. Catering staff were uniformed in button-up shirts and aprons. They made sure items on the buffet line were replenished and also cleared any used plates from the dining room tables. They were polite and professional. Went in and spoke to some lady who was unprofessional. Very short with me and told me everything was online even thought I'm there in person and she could very well just tell me the information in person. She was unprofessional and looked like she didn't even want the business. At one point she pointed out a SMALL stack of pre orders on a clip board and complained about it pointing out how I really couldn't make my own selection cause they are trying to make it easier for them. Last time I remember you work hard for your money and you work for the customer not the other way around. Anyways it's sad this short stout dark brown hair lady was so annoying and unprofessional. I got married on May 25, 2014. My fiance and I did our tasting with Jeff, who was a super relaxed type of guy. He was funny, helpful with menu selections and conscientious of our $9000 budget. We had a butler served menu that included cocktail hour, 3 entrees (Chicken, Fish, vegetarian) and bartender service. The food was AMAZE BALLS. It was tasty and well seasoned. The only con would be, to make sure that there's enough sauce on the chicken...otherwise..FABULOUS! Although my husband and I didn't really have a chance to sit and eat, Carriage House packed us "To go" boxes of food. Not only was Jeff cool, but his assistant Jaime was the most hardworking, funniest and compassionate woman to be around. She helped reassure us that everything would be taken care of. I was so pleased that I chose Carriage House to cater our rehearsal dinner! Chef Jeff met with us and made sure our selections were personalized to our particular preferences. He even looked at the menu for the wedding reception that I provided to make sure the same foods weren't repeated. The food at the dinner was served hot and tasted delicious. Top notch service combined with unbelievably tasty food is what his team promises and delivers. I like to think of myself as a chef in training so having great food at our wedding was important. I reached out to Jeff to schedule a tasting after reading a few reviews and I was very impressed on how quickly he responded and set up a meeting. I explained my vision and Jeff immediately started designing a customized menu, which ended up being exactly what we were looking for. Then, on top of the personally served meal Carriage House packed to go boxes with all the delicious eats that we ate the next few days (yes the food is so good even a few days old). A few other highlights that I would not have expected from other caterers: 1. I threw Jeff a curve ball and asked him to cook Arby's curly fries and mozzarella sticks late night since I work for the company. I have pictures of guests thoroughly enjoying them! Kudos to CHC for going above and beyond. 2. Chair rental - having a pop up wedding venue I really appreciated renting all of my chairs and extra tables through CHC. I really trusted Jeff and his team and not having one more vendor to worry about definitely made it easier on me. Also, I needed the chairs moved from the ceremony to the reception within an hour and without guests seeing. They seamlessly did this for me and I could not have been happier with this decision. 3. Personal care - having met with a lot of vendors it was nice to work with Jeff who is laid back and made us feel very comfortable and confident with his service. I doubt many people can say they could consider their wedding vendors their friends! We loved everything about CHC food and service and will definitely use them for future events.
