I'm excited to share my sincere appreciation for what Ooey Gooey Catering brought to our graduation party. Not only did we get rave reviews, our guests were stoked about the grazing table and crostinis. Everything was delicious. Thrilled with the results and all of the coordination. Shodan showed up and got everything dialed in right on time for our event. Our son and his longtime pal invited their friends and family who tried a wide range of tasty treats and there was plenty of time spent gathered around the goodness. Only advice I'd give is to make sure you order more crostinis. I saw plenty of quick word of mouth drive traffic right to them and everyone loved the unique flavors that the filet with smashed avocado, honey goat cheese topped with roasted tomatoes and pesto drizzle, and caprese delivered. The grazing table is something I'll daydream of often now that I've seen and gotten to taste so many amazing things from it. Wow! I cannot say enough about how great our experience was. We had Ooey Gooey cater a work banquet with a buffet, and first of all it was DELICIOUS. Ooey Gooey helped us make our food selections (we chose the American menu), and everything was so, so good. I decided to throw myself a 70th birthday party inviting 40 or so of my closest friends and family to celebrate with me as I embrace the unknown frontier of a new decade. The venue suggested a few local restaurants that do drop-off catering, but they were not places I considered very impressive. In addition, I wasn't comfortable being responsible for maintaining the temperature of the food or setting up, serving, and cleaning up on my big day. So I decided to hire a caterer and realized I didn't know one. Reaching out to a caterer you've found on Yelp based solely on a five-star rating and some positive comments is a scary proposition. After all, I've downloaded awful books on Audible and purchased unwearable frocks on Etsy guided by similar criteria. From our initial conversation, I knew I was in good hands. Chef Ed is responsive, listens to what you want, has a large variety of menu types to choose from, is kind, easygoing - oh, and his food tastes like your best memories of meals at Grandma's when love was the secret ingredient in every dish. In the end, Chef Ed also supplied the bar, dessert, and service staff. So all my problems were solved in one place! I'm not going to lie; I was nervous before the event. I'd paid 1/2 up front. So what if Ooey Gooey was a no-show - would I have to order 40 emergency pizzas and Twinkies? The party started at 6 p.m. I didn't arrive until about 5:45 p.m. in proper diva form. I first saw Chef Ed, the service stations set up, his staff in place, and everyone smiling from ear to ear. If I weren't afraid of falling off my heels and twisting my ankle, I would have danced with happiness. But, of course, the real test is the food. It was off the chain! Pro tip: Get the crab cakes, OMG!!! The food was plentiful, and that's a good thing because once people got their hands on the appetizers, they lost all pretense of refinement, filling up their plates and stuffing their mouths. Then it was time for dinner. People piled their plates high and are still raving about it. My friend Valarie said she was tempted to dump the contents of her purse out so she could fill it up with the melt-in-your-mouth short ribs. As the party ended, Chef Ed and his team quietly packed up, leaving nothing behind for the venue staff to clean up, almost like they were never there. They can do just about anything!! Avo toast bar, grilled cheese bar, taco bar, thanksgiving feast, etc. for larger offices. I've had Ed cater smaller events with custom veggie and cheese plates (comparable to Lady & Larder at a fraction of the price!!) they can accommodate to do gluten free, vegan, paleo, etc as well! My go to's: kale salad with lemon dressing, house made rustic bread, the cookies (don't even get me started)....
