The standout dishes were the shrimp and grits, brisket, lamb chops, and jerk chicken sliders. All delicious and served professionally and in accident with my precise needs. My guests were particularly pleased with the way he served the dishes with separate bowls so that the gravy from the dishes with sauce didn't wet the dry dishes. Chef Andrew was hired for a very special surprise birthday dinner my sister and I planned for our mother. Chef was professional from the very start. He conducted a telephone consultation of the event and the expectation's. We went over the menu and he offered suggestions and accommodated those with food and allergy restrictions. He was clear about all of his services entailed and provided a detailed invoice. *Note: If you are having your event at home ensure you kitchen is as close to spotless upon his arrival. We conducted a walk through the week prior to ensure everything was on the up and up for the event. On the day of the event Chef arrived on time and brought in all of his equipment and cooked a marvelous meal right in time for dinner service which started promptly as scheduled. Chef also works with at least one server who was just as professional. Beverage: Reggae Punch...just add liquor...it's sweet and tropical. Appetizer: Warm brioche rolls with cinnamon butter...so good. The butter tasted sweet and savory. We found ourselves eating the bread to finish the butter. Shrimp and grits were served and shredded chicken Marsala and grits (as an alternative) Salad: Poached pear salad with candied pecans. This salad was very tasty. The sweet and salty and various textures of this freshly prepared salad was great. Entree's: Filet mignon with poached Maine lobster tail, broccolini, and mashed potatoes. Y'all the meat was moist and tender but the lobster was melt in your mouth amazing and the dipping butter was almost drinkable (don't judge me...wait until YOU taste it)! Oven roasted chicken breast stuffed with goat cheese and spinach with mashed potatoes Chef Andrew provided services beyond our expectations resulting in a beautiful evening with a completely surprised and satisfied birthday girl. At the end of the evening Chef left the kitchen as clean as he found it. Imagine my surprise when I opened my fridge and found LEFTOVERS!!! Had an extraordinary experience with Chef Brown and Yvette catering a private dinner for two. The food was astounding as we did an 8-course meal from a personalized menu jointly created. I wasn't sure what to expect as I had never done anything like this before but my expectations were blown away. The whole process from the initial contact to the final event was a very pleasant and Chef Andrew was easy to work with. With our initial call, Chef Andrew took the time to understand what the event was for (husbands 60th birthday) and what we liked, so he could make a recommendation. Starting with the crab cakes, they were absolutely fabulous. Two of our friends are from the northeast, and they commented that these crabcakes were some of the best they had ever had. They were perfectly cooked and had a wonderful flavor. Then we moved on to the rolls (with the BEST cinnamon butter) and arugula salad. The dressing was light and a perfect compliment to the rest of the meal. They we had the filet and lobster tail. My husband is a "steak" snob and loves to cook on the green egg, but he was blown away with the filet, the sauce and the lobster tail. It was a perfect meal for a perfect day. I also want to give a shout out to Chef's assistants, Alema (not sure if I spelled that correctly) and Jasmine. They were nice and made the event all that more special. I contacted chef Andrew of direct elite chefs to cater a surprise dinner for my fiancé . I had plenty of ideas that in retrospect probably made no sense. Chef Andrew took my ideas and honed them, he came to me with everything I needed to pull off my dinner party with class and elegance. He brought his team of servers and bartender and they toke control of the event and for a control freak I felt relaxed and comfortable that they had everything handled . As they set up outdoors Mother nature had other ideas about my location . It started to rain hard so my outdoor dinner party turned into a indoor dinner one hour before my guest started to arrive . And again chef Andrew had everything under control as I started to lose it , months of planning and I didn't plan for bad weather . Chef Andrew had his team rearranged the dinning room to handle the party as if the party was supposed to be inside from the beginning. Well I guess I need to talk food now . Chef Andrew prepared a cocktail hour that my guest devoured - even those from NC said it was the best shrimp and grits they ever had...and that's something since NC is famous for originating that dish... at one point I had to remind my guest that this is the cocktail hour not the main course , save room for dinner. For dinner there were several options: surf and turf, seafood, chicken and a vegan option. But we started off with a salad...and there wasn't one empty plate. They kept asking what was in that salad? Dinner was the quietest moment of the evening...they always say you can tell that the food is good when it gets quiet. I'm a little picky when it comes to steak and this was the BEST steak I've had...I'm ruined. I've been to several restaurants since and I keep comparing them to how tender, flavorful and succulent the Chef Andrews steak was. The guests had the same comments for all of the food. Now after a party of this magnitude, you'd fully expect to have to clean up for days...well, he handled that too. His team left our kitchen cleaner than how they received it. Words fail to express how grateful I am for the service and professionalism that I received from Chef Andrew. He made this event memorable and successful. He prepared such an amazing coursed menu and the presentation was BEAUTIFUL! All of our guests were very impressed and we all had such a wonderful experience! Food is delicious especially the beef tenderloin and bread pudding!! He brings all the supplies you need for a beautiful table. We held a small post wedding brunch and I didn't have to lift a finger.
