So we park in the city centre and take a 15 minute walk to get here. Once inside the main door and through the bag search we were processed quickly and the staff are always courteous and helpful. Our seats were upstairs and we were quite far back from the stage with a great view. As with most concert venues in this city the seats are barely comfortable, the space between the seats is almost non existent, so you are forced to be very near to total strangers and I'd rather not thanks very much. The food and drink pricing is more akin to airport charging. I noted that the price for a small Coca cola, from a drink dispenser into a paper cup, was £3.10 for an ungenerous portion, or put shortly daylight robbery. If it's comfort and relaxation you want to enjoy a concert I can assure you you're in the wrong place so it's as well Andrea Bocelli and friends were in top form.

There are plenty of bars around the stadium which you can get served at with ease before during and after the match. At half time there's a good bit of a queue usually, same with the toilets but it doesn't take too long to move. My advise is to nip out at 38 minutes to beat the queue. The bar serves wine, cider, beer, Guinness, soft drinks and crisps. The cider is delicious. There is often a band playing in the front bar in the main stand too for entertainment if the rugby doesn't cut it :) There is a good variety of food options in the food village at the main gates. There are burger vans, hotdog van, dinky donuts and pie & mash to name a few. I find them all very good. My favourite match day feed is from the chip van at the far right corner, between the main stand and family stand. The shop in the stadium is very good, it has a wide range of kit and other stock. Only downfall is that there is no changing room if you wanted to try anything on, otherwise it's great. All in all, I love it!

It is open to the public, so a lot of people take their dogs there to give them a good run around, or to give themselves a good run around too! Like I said, sports aren't my thing, so I'm more likely to be sitting on the sidelines watching everyone wear themselves out!

I however do not use the running track itself but love running and mountain biking through the forest next to the running track. There are lots of types of packages but we just went with regular entry and paid our way when we got in. There were plenty of places to buy food (mainly burgers and chips, however the burger van outside serves the most delicious burgers I ever had and really good quality) there are also a number of bars with a great selection and even though the place was packed there are that many staff it only ever took a couple of minutes to get served. As for betting we just used the guys outside along the track but shop around as their odds can differ, myself and a friend backed the same horse and ended up winning £7.50 more as a result. All in all a fantastic day out, they do evening races too but I'm not sure I would have enjoyed that quite as much

The astro turf pitches used to be booked up every night but now everyone goes to the indoor pitches at Eddie Irvine Sports. This place now probably makes its money from renting out pitches and changing facilities to schools. When I was at school I went up to this place all the time to play hockey and football and even scored one of the greatest goals of my oh-too short football career here. It has excellent transport links and is really close to the Belfast Road. It just seems a little bit out of fashion and the athletics track doesn't have a particularly good reputation.

Now it is primarily used for school events and football pitches. It used to be a hub of activity every evening when playing football on astro turf was the done thing. Now this surface is only associated with is horrible sand burns on your thighs and over priced rental fees. It does boast a full athletics track and small stadium but this is not really used by locals. Also all the pitches are flood lit, so this is handy for the winter months spent perfecting your sporting skills. Other facilities include changing rooms and a clubhouse or function suite. Once upon a time it even hosted an open training session for the France national football team. But all this is in the past and such high profile stars will now flock down the road to Eddie Irvine Sports. The sports centre will not go unused as it plays host to Bangor Hockey club and a few local football teams but gone are the days of having to book pitches 3 days in advance.

Mossley Mill, the other name for this centre which includes council offices and exhibition space in…read moreaddition to the theatre, is a triumph in the art of repurposing an old industrial building. The architects have come up with a glass fronted extension to the Victorian mill which looks brilliant especially with original chimney standing beside it - a wonderful combination of modernity and history, on an impressive hillside site. It's certainly drawing plenty of people, at least there was a good number of visitors on the evening I saw a powerful exhibition there about Anne Frank, which was on tour and is now moved elsewhere. There is a wide programme entertainment on offer at the theatre throughout the winter including both professional productions and shows involving local groups hopefully providing a healthy mix of culture and community.

Went to Theatre at the Mill for the first time this week to see the Harlem Gospel Choir. I was very…read moreimpressed with the theatre, particularly the setting- the restored mill is stunning! The acoustics were great so at times, the choir was able to sing without microphones. The theatre has free parking and a licensed bar. I will definitely look to see what future shows are coming up!
