I also lost a lot of weight (45 lbs.) and she is part of the support system I used to do this. She is open minded and very "panoramic" in how she approaches problems and sees issues for what they are right in front of her rather than relying on any formulaic, rigid approach. I also appreciate that she has the right balance--she is neither too "heebie jeebie" (too New Age-y) but she is not like a military Army sergeant either. She is honest and forthright in her approach and very accepting of where you are. One of the absolute best coaches/personal trainers I've ever worked with and I have worked with several over the years...which is why I still check in with her on a regular basis.

People around you are…read morefriendly. 6 weeks challenge every weeks only require you to come 3 times, for beginners are very friendly to start to build a better life. They more focus on weights training, not cardio, good for people who wants build their muscles. If you like cardio more, then maybe this is not matching. Cons : those issues I list only for me. This is a small local company, only has one location, so if you don't work near or live close, it's hard to catch up the schedule. The reason I joined the program cuz I got a summer job on the bee cave area, but after summer. It's gonna be very hard to keep going there. I personally don't want to spend too much time on driving. Because the owner idea is doing a small group to help people who want to change their lifestyle, so the price is little bit higher than regular group training. But Definitely cheaper than private training lesson. Overall I liked very much so far. Hope they can have more locations in the future.

I had such a negative experience here that I took the time to write this review. Please read entire…read morereview before deciding to move forward with Chalk or not. I did the 6 week challenge with Chalk. Below is my review for the challenge and the facility. Recommend doing the 6 week challenge? No. Why?: Their In Body Scan. (what they use to measure your body weight) Recommend their facility? Depends. Please read entire review. I did the lose 5% body fat in 6 week challenge. My first weigh in, I weighed 173lbs. Body fat % was 28.5% and muscle mass was 70lbs. Throughout the 6 weeks I definitely got stronger. I was able to do 3 pull ups (woo!) , when I wasn't able to do any prior to the challenge. My endurance and strength had definitely increased. I was very diligent with the diet and didn't miss a workout. The day of my final weigh in, I weighed myself at my gyms In-body scan (the same scan Chalk uses). My results were 163lbs, 21.1% body fat, and 74lbs of muscle mass. I drove straight from the gym to my final weigh in and the Chalk scan measured me as 163lbs (same) but 25.5% body fat and 69lbs of muscle mass. Somehow I had GAINED 4% body fat in 30 minutes and lost muscle mass. What baffles me the most is that it measured that I LOST muscle mass throughout the 6 weeks which even the trainers agreed was untrue. For more clarification, if you lost 5% body fat throughout these 6 weeks, you get your money ($600) back that you put in to the challenge. I feel as if I was straight up gypped. There is no way I lost muscle mass throughout that time. The numbers don't add up and it makes me lose all trust with their facility. The trainers made excuses on the machine on how it depends on how much water you drank and other variables. However, they were not interested in having another weigh in to where the numbers made sense. I am happy with my results and Chalk helped a lot, but I DO NOT TRUST THEM due to their final weigh in and how they handled it. I will not return. If you demand a more competitive workout environment while having a trainer, I recommend Orange Theory Fitness more. In conclusion: Pros: small classes, more attention (depends on what time of the day you go) Pros: easy to follow meal plan if you do the challenge Cons: in body machine Cons: no shower

Over the past few months, Carmen's work with me has significantly improved how I feel throughout the day. With her training, I've discovered entire groups of muscles I never even knew I had. Mainly in my back. Building them up has made keeping decent posture easier throughout the day. That's my primary goal and it's clearly happening. I hold myself differently and feel more comfortable, especially at my shoulders and lower back. My lower back pain is gone. I sleep better and feel more confident walking around. Carmen has a real intuition for the body's movement, reminding me of my ballerina sister. Carmen can tell just by watching when something is off. She's also great to be around; whether it's the exercise, the company, or both, I'm always more cheerful leaving a workout. The app plus video also enables me to continue sessions while traveling. Anyone who can have her guidance is very fortunate.

The owner's insistence on having trainers working with people (usually groups of people) throughout the day make it difficult at best to find a machine to use. The trainers routines often have people moving in and out of your area so don't be surprised if someone ends up running right by you for no particular reason. I actually had a couple of teenagers from their summer sports camp set up in the treadmill area and start jumping over me as I was doing sit ups. To the trainer's credit he didn't see them at first at stopped them when he saw what was going on. But still. I've never seen this at another gym. And hope I never see it again. The studio room where you can stretch, jump rope, etc. is always hosting a class. So if you want to just go somewhere nice and workout this isn't the place for you. You're better off signing up with a much larger facility like Anytime of 24 Hour where they cordon off their training or groups as opposed to Wild Basin where the training is obviously more important than the individual. If you like working out in group classes or working as part of a group with a trainer this place is better. But again, small quarters, so the training group will likely be bumping into others who aren't doing what you are. Also, the owner isn't really all that great. When I mentioned the issues I had he informed me that not only were they going to try and do even "more" group training, but that it was really my responsibility to tell the trainers they're stealing my machines when I go to get a drink of water or something. I finished my workout and canceled my membership that afternoon. It's very pricey as opposed to the larger gyms you could go to and doesn't offer anything out of the ordinary except for location (it's great for people who live in Steiner and don't want to drive to Lakeline). I joined a gym near my office and am much, much happier. Would advise others to take a look, but try and go during times you'd normally be there as part of your routine. That's the best way to tell what it's like there when you want to be there. If you go at that time and see a bunch of people being trained in the general exercise areas, know that they'll be the priority and not you the individual exerciser. Not fun. Also, the hours of operation aren't great. The facilities seem to be open for when it's most convenient for the managment and not the members. The two days people are looking for the most flexibility - Saturday and Sunday are the hardest. They close at 5 on Saturday and are only open noon to 5 on Sunday. For the price you pay you'd think they would be more amenable. LIke I said, pretty expensive. You can get much more gym and a more customer friendly experience at other, better priced gyms if you're willing to drive. Finally, the yoga instructor is a little creepy. They sort of let him roam around and he spent a lot of time trying to recruit me into his class. I tried politely to indicate I wasn't interested but he didn't seem to hear it. So every time I saw him I had to duck my head down and make sure we didn't have eye contact. My wife had different issues with him. She did like their Zumba dance class but it always started late as the yoga teacher spent a lot of time loitering with his students in the gym's exercise studio once his class was done, chatting while he should have gotten out and let the other class start. We mentioned it to the women who work the front desk (who are very nice btw) but nothing ever seemed to change. Again, very pro-trainer, pro-training in this facility.
