5 Stars I recently completed the 9-month Pharmacy Technology program at Carrington College, and I can't say enough positive things about my experience with Dr. Bob (Robert Verdina) as my instructor. From day one, he was an amazing teacher who took the time to ensure I fully understood assignments, math concepts, and medical terminology. He didn't just focus on my learning but was attentive and patient with all my classmates as well. Dr. Bob truly made the material accessible, and his dedication to our success was evident every day. The financial aid office was also fantastic; Misha, in particular, was super helpful and made the entire process smooth and stress-free. I went for a physical therapy assistant program briefing here and I was let through the door, but a little while after I spoke to one of their reps, a black female that was handling information after passing their computer test. She kept making remarks like "you have to pass the drug test" which has nothing to do with the program. The questions I asked were met with quick unhelpful responses. Fast forward I had to do my packet to get into the program and I would call for questions or concerns, but they wouldn't answer. I had someone else call their line and they answered. This place i would avoid at all cost and if you're a black man, I would avoid unless perhaps you have a family member in their ranks already that can address any of your concerns. read more

they take 70k per student for an 18 month course promising actual hands on care but can afford to give us oxygen to use in our lab practice. the head of departments forget to file paperwork on time forcing students to work in unethical care facilities. they barely have any teachers to stick through a semester and students have to reuse needles to get their skills signed off. read more

First of all the entire process along with the counselors(shout out to Ms. Eliza), financial aid and everyone else has exceeded my expectations. I was a student at carrington college and currently I am on my externship. I loved the whole experience that I had here. Shoutout to all my classmates that I got to be apart of. We helped each other and made sure we stayed on track. Not only that but our teacher Mr. Munoz was always there to help us. He gave such great opportunities to learn and be hands on with all our medical assisting assignments and for sure would recommend him as a teacher, hands down! As long as you stay on track it will be easy for you but if you slack off then things will pile up especially because of how fast pace it is. At my externship at the hospital I can say most of the things I have learned at Carrington, I do. Mr.M is a strong minded and skilled instructor who will push you to be your very best. What I most liked about the class was the hands on experiences! The classes are twice a week and about 4.5 hrs long! This school is out for ONE thing. MONEY. It's a money grab school. Our experience was AWFUL At the Pleasant Hill campus. The instructor would come into class on any given day and say, "Well I haven't been paid, so I'm probably not coming back. I don't know what will happen to all of you." Some students were allowed to be late (favorites) while others were deducted points for being 3 min late. The school wants you to fail at least 1 term, this way they can get another terms worth of money from your FSA. They fail you and entire term even if you have excellent grades, your not late and pass your state test. The fail you an Entire term, 6 weeks, if you do not provide 3 patients with completely virgin teeth for you to work on. The school does NOT help you find patients at all. Note, Virgin teeth mean not a single thing wrong with your teeth since birth. They force FSA down your throat so you won't feel the impact of the financial scam they are pulling. The staff is unhappy and complain all the time in the open. This school is 100% a financial scam. The teacher(s) are not Professional And lack integrity, upper education, and honesty. Some of them are not even teachers, they just happen to have worked in the field for a while. It is my understanding that there are many organizations who will NOT hire a Carrington student for respiratory therapy, Medical assistants because employers feel they are not well versed in their skill set. The employer ends up spending $$$ to try to get them up to speed or are forced to let them go. Please for your sake and the sake of your financial burden do NOT be fooled by their sweet talk during the sales pitch. It's all BS. read more

I am writing this as the fiancée of a student who recently graduated from the MA program at Carrington, and I regularly heard my fiancée's stories and updates about his daily experiences. He came home every day from class feeling especially inspired and supported by one of his instructors, Mr. Stephen Munoz. He frequently described Mr. Munoz as a caring teacher who made sure that all students improved their skills and gained the knowledge they needed to become medical professionals. My fiancée felt that Mr. Munoz was a mentor who helped him to develop his ability and confidence, navigate challenges, and prepare for the next steps in his career development. My fiancée always described Mr. Munoz as professional, knowledgeable, and full of integrity. This is the worst school I ever been. Please stay away from this school. My wife went to a program of 2 years and after a month there I got injured my knee ! She has to stop and help me home and get a job to survive. This school sent us a letter balance of $2900 ! I couldn't believe it. 2800$ for 4 weeks of school I called them a thousand time and send them letters no solve this issue, no one ever looked at me. I'm currently a student here at Carrington College, I'm taking a Registered Dental Assisting class. When I first started I was nervous to see how this would go but now that I'm a few courses away from externship I'm super excited. I learned so much from Mrs. V and Mr. Mr. J ! You get all the help you need and can ask as many questions as you need. Everything is quick and you might have some struggles along the way but never giving up and remembering why you started will get you further. I decided to take my daughter on a tour of the campus to see if she'd be interested in Carrington college one day. After walking around and exploring the campus, I saw a well dressed Asian lady who was a staff member and worked in the enrollment department, smoking and socializing with students in the back parking lot area, as if they were peers. It wasn't the greatest experience and I certainly didn't want my daughter witnessing unprofessional behavior in an establishment she considered furthering her education. This place used to be western career college but changed their name after losing multiple law suits, it's another one of those trade schools that charge you ridiculous prices for poorly taught courses that most major universities and colleges DO NOT recognize as transferable credits. Don't waste your money here when you can fill out a FAFSA and go to a community college down the street for a dollar a unit and receive much better education and job placement resources. It should be illegal for these places to prey on often low income individuals in search of bettering themselves. I decided to check out the vet tech program here & it didn't go as smoothly as advertised: be done in as little as 22 months! Courses are very fast paced and they expect you to catch on quick or already have some sort of experience. The only positive experience was with Mr. Siegel. He is a great and easy going teacher. This school is pushy about singing up & the financial aid program is confusing and unorganized as well. Money hungry. I wish I checked Yelp before signing up. read more

Please if you want to be a DA there are much better schools than this one. I took the course 2 years ago and thankfully I got hired at my dental office that I did my externship at but I learned everything in the office and so many things were not learned from school. The teachers are constantly quitting and you have to be careful because sometimes they will loose assignments and blame it on you and you are at risk of not passing the course. The office I work at constantly gets externs from carrington and all the students from the always say they had a bad experience. Even the dentist says it's no surprise that the students that come from there don't know much and she has to train them herself. I am a student that recently graduated from Carrington college's medical assisting program at its Pleasant Hill campus. I had the distinct honor of having Steve Munoz as my teacher. From day one he told me exactly what I needed to do to succeed, how to do it, and what would happen if I did do those things. Upon completion of the program, I was a 4.0 student, student mentor, was asked to speak at the graduation, and passed the NHA and was able to get a position at a highly regarded hospital which is exactly what I sat down and talked to Mr. Munoz about doing. He was willing and able to give time before school and after school, which I took advantage of. In my humble opinion, if there are more teachers like Mr. Munoz, who genuinely care about the students he mentors, more students would graduate, pass the NHA, and become productive members of the career they chose. DO NOT ENROLL HERE. The way the programs work, they screw you if you falter even once. They do not care about their students or their students' success in making it through the programs at all. When you sign up, they are cunning with their lies and deceit about what you actually receive and how wonderful it is. They make you feel like it is a nurturing and respectable place to be. It is not. They want your checkbook and that's it. They are all about the money, not a student's education. Signing your soul over to the devil is more like it. It is the equivalent version of listening to a spiel for a time share while on vacation. Sounds like a great deal but really is just extortion and misrepresentation. When you call and ask for help from their administrative staff, they are rude and unhelpful. They are condescending and unkind. They are dismissive and like to place blame and do finger point instead of trying to help students get out of their programs successfully. They treat you as an inconvenience. I was just told by someone in their administration today, this is a verbatim QUOTE, "you are LUCKY we even are ALLOWING you to continue here." This is after bombing one final. All A's, almost 100% in everything else and this is what I'm told. Then she followed up with, "I'm not trying to be rude but..." and then completely insulted me. That's like saying 'pardon my French," is an excuse to cuss up a blue streak. No, not an excuse. Yes, is still highly insulting. Their rate of attrition is incredible and the amount you still end up owing if you drop, it's astronomical. It is the same amount of money you would owe if you went to a small, private college and paid full boat tuition for a year. Only 58% of students graduate and they only have a 66% retention rate. This is no coincidence. Less than 5% - FIVE PERCENT of students, graduate on time. They currently have faculty that don't know or understand the material and are "only teaching because they don't have anyone else to come in here and do it." The accreditation company that oversees them was less than helpful. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT GO DOWN THIS RABBIT HOLE of inept administration, staff and faculty, if you can even call them faculty. This school should be shut down and fined for the criminal level of deception and theft that goes on with this place. Do your research and BELIEVE WHAT YOU READ ABOUT THIS SCHOOL, all the negative is true. It is NOT preparing students for the workplace. It isn't doing anything but lining the pockets of the shareholders with no concern for the well being and education of their students. read more

Highly impressed with my experience with the Criminal Justice program that they offer thanks to the wonders teachers Jeff & Tim. They put the students first & provide visuals and hands on learning. From collecting finger prints, processing crime scenes, to field trips. While it is pricey, it's definitely well worth the money.
