As a mother I have found no greater pain than watching one of my children suffering and there's…read morenothing I can do to take away their pain. When my son was struggling, I didn't know how to help him, I didn't know what words to say to help his young mind understand what he was going through, to free him from his anxieties and fears. I was out of my depth and needed to find someone who, not only understood what we were going through, but who could help my son feel safe enough to talk about about difficult things. After I met Courtney and watched her with my son, I felt the tightening in my chest begin to lessen and I knew we had found the right person. She was amazing. Courtney created a space for my son where he felt safe and was able to open up. She started with a boy too afraid to speak about events that happened and patiently worked with him, helping him to find his voice. She taught him how to express what he was feeling, to no longer be afraid and full of anxiety. She helped him find coping strategies that resonated with him, so he could begin challenging the negative thoughts and replacing them with confidence and self worth. Courtney is a patient, compassionate, amazing therapist, and it is clear from the moment you meet her, she has a gift and that gift is helping children.

I tried to give it 6 months with my therapist, but I just was not impressed with the service I…read morereceived. I had to change my appointment time & date 3 separate times (therapists request each time). On the 3rd time, I had enough and decided to stop my sessions. I had a session cancelled 5 days before our scheduled meeting because my provider was sick (seemed off to cancel 5 days in advance, but this also came right as our session days didn't work anymore- caused me some confusion). I was told this therapy was bi-weekly, at the beginning, but then was told it was a mandatory weekly session (another item that kind of lost me). A bigger issue I had- I was asked what I wanted to discuss almost every session. If I brought up something that was bigger (like a triggers or tackling the core of my issues) I was told there were "steps" to start processing those items (I was well into my sessions at this point, so why haven't we been making steps towards what I was paying to talk about). After a month of not integrating my "ask's" into my sessions, I brought it up again, with a similar response back. I started to realize there was no basis for my sessions anymore if we were not going to be talking about what I needed. My counselor was very nice but also fairly younger- a Lot of the resolutions to my problems involved doing things that would help if I was 15/16 years old. Maybe it just wasn't a good therapeutical connection for me, but Id be cautious of going to this company for therapeutic help.

I've been seeing a MMH therapist since February and it has really been working out. I went through…read morea period of depression at the end of last year through the beginning of this year following the death of a loved one. Initially I think while I definitely wanted to get help, I was resistant to the therapist, but I kept scheduling more appointments. And I started to like my therapist more and more, and valued her insights and how she obviously cared about me, yet continued to be objective. Her questions were probing and made me dig deep and see the bigger picture. Unfortunately since June I've not been able to see her as much due to my travel schedule and how booked she's been lately. But I feel my treatment has been helpful and I look forward to future visits.

Dr. Hanita Chhabra is currently on probation with the Maryland Board of Physicians. The Board found…read morethat she engaged in unethical conduct and required her to complete continuing education related to prescribing among other things. In my experience, the humility and compassion she presents herself with is a facade. I experienced her as a wolf in sheep's clothing, and trusting her with my mental health care is something I DEEPLY regret. Patients deserve to know about her disciplinary history before placing themselves in such a vulnerable position. I do believe first and foremost she is a business woman in every sense over being a helping professional. Read the Board's public order and decide for yourself. Run away if I were you! Even if you like your provider at this office they have a high turnover rate. Not worth it!
