I visited on the 2nd day of opening and the trees by the entrance weren't planted yet and there were 2-3 staff members at the front. Self checkout wasn't working yet. There is plenty of parking space outside. There are also two EV charging stations for the environmentally conscious. The only annoying thing about driving was that the entrance faces double-yellow lines, so you can only turn in (and out) going west. The inside of the library is really nice, with high ceilings and lots of windows that let in natural light. I noticed the start of a coffee bar, which should be a nice addition. There are tons of stocked shelves, but also quite a number that are still empty. There are many comfortable chairs throughout the library, including a few C-shaped chairs outside the children's books section. In the middle of the library is an outdoor courtyard to enjoy during the sunny summer months. One of the nice features of the library are the numerous semi-private rooms. The rooms are encased in see-through colored glass, so you can see if they're occupied. There's also a computer lab with small form factor HP desktops. For those with their own mobile devices or laptops, free wifi is also available.

Never mind the vast library of video games, Blu-Rays, audiobooks, this place has it all. I love that they even have exercise bikes set up so you can get a workout in while you read. Like what?? Likely due to the amalgamation in the late 90's, the Toronto Public Library couldn't have two reference libraries. The Toronto Reference Library retained its name. This one changed its name to North York Central Library. I don't recall when the North York City Centre subway station changed its name to North York Centre. I remember frequenting Coles and the food court back then. I should go back. I'm sure everything looks and is different. I like this library a lot. It's spacious. If you need a place to quietly read a book or study, there were plenty of tables and chairs to do it. It's still the case to this day. It's a popular place for students to visit, do research, and study. I like that there are lots of floors to spread out. There were seven when I was last there. This library went through major renovations back in 2017. Three floors were affected. This section was reopened a year later. These days, it has auditorium, a Braille writer, magnifiers, and wheelchair-accessible furniture. It also has wifi. I always liked the DVDs, CDs, and other media formats. This library had the best selection. I miss having a Toronto library card. Back then, I used to live in Toronto before I moved to Markham with my parents. I then studied in Toronto, so having a library card was free. I neither work nor live in Toronto. I refuse to shell out money for a Toronto library card. The little coffee shop inside the main floor that allows you to buy a drink and sip while relaxing is a great idea. The whole third floor is a quiet zone... big signs telling you what you allow to do or not allow to do. I love those arm chairs facing the big windows... comfy and have a great view! But why 2 star?!! You have to have a library card in order to use their WIFI!! So if you are not a resident of Richmond Hill... you are out of luck!! BOO!!!!!!!!

Later in life, my high school exam periods were spent here on weekends when not working, studying for tests and getting work done when home seemed too busy to get anything done. Later still in University, I continued to seek solace here from the world outside when I came home from Waterloo on weekends and needed to get things done. It was always a positive study experience. Provided you arrived early enough (aka at opening) and managed to out run the teems of people racing you for a prime seat by a window). I always thought it funny to watch people run like they're about to miss out on a big sale or their bus, up stairs, pushing one another over just for a seat. These days the library is packed with student, you cannot get a seat anytime of day and folks spend a lot of time flirting and talking on their phone in the stacks whilst occupying limited study/work retail. Blah! Not to mention the Wifi is spotty and restricted (no streaming or video watching... not even Youtube) and the cafe on the main floor (which has been there since day 1 of this location) is over-priced and low quality at the best of times. I can't totally slam the place, it's still one of the largest public libraries in the GTA and a central focal point in Richmond Hill as you drive North on Yonge approaching Major Mackenzie. There are plenty of seatings (sofas and seats) so you can just lounge around or you can use the private rooms if you want to have some privacy. There are good selections of current paperbacks and best sellers. Most of them are in great conditions and some of them brand news since the library is only 3 years old or so. I really enjoy spending a hour or 2 on my day off having a cup of coffee and lounging around using their wifi internet and read some magazines. Of course the best thing is the free wifi!!!

We went to the desk clerk and explained what happened, and we asked her when do the books get reshelved so we can find them and sign them out again. She took her time and went to the drop box area and looked through all the books and found the ones my daughter needed and signed them out for us. Wow, 5 stars for customer service experience !!! Totally made our day. :) 4.5 stars - 5 stars for this library!!

They have build up their kid's section since at beggining it was a small collection on second floor but now it's pretty decent. The organization of this library always did confuse me, half the non fiction was on main floor and other one section and even on second floor the layout confuses you. It goes around the edge to middle? Poor planning if you ask me. The main floor is composed of a few things, their main desk, circulation and reference. an open computer area, half the non fiction and fiction section as well a teen area. The teens seem to be a bit of an nuisance here but it seem like staff know but dont do much. They also have single use washroom, both mens and womens and vending machine. Not that I would use the machines but I can see why they have the, This branch is in a residental area and the close plaza is 10/15 min walk (not that it has anything worth going for) The second floor is their quiet floor and they have separate study room (group room not single) and a quiet computer room. They are much better enforcing the quiet rule up there so it a good spot to study. The have washroom up here too, a galley like area where they may feature art and a meeting room for programs but it can double as study room when not in use. All in all, it's one of my favourite branches, the staff are pretty helpful thou I do find the security guard sometime rude but I heard he's been there for a while so I guess I just have put up with him. Atleast he does his job but he's too serious and rude at times.

Very secure and safe place. Be careful moms - the men's bathroom has a strange sign that makes it look like it's a family bathroom (because it bears strong resemblance to family bathroom signage)- it's not- it's just a men's bathroom with handicap accommodations.

Ventilation is good. The spaciousness kind of dampens the sound, like a vacuum lol. It was so incredibly quiet. Like I saw people's mouths moving, having conversations, but no sound. It had to be one of the best study sessions I've had. Even though I didn't come here to read, the shelves were so neatly organized. I liked that each shelf had one featured book on display. And I loved the long wooden tables with short lamps, kind of an ode old campus libraries. One thing I appreciate is the amount and variety of study space provided. Every spot is equipped with power outlets like a priority. Very study-oriented. Location-wise, the fact that it's next to Promenade Mall means food & drink is conveniently nearby, and you can return to resume studies. I'm not from this area; I've been kind of library-hopping recently lol; but this library definitely left a good impression and I would come back here if the chance arises.

Bathurst Clark Resource Library is located right behind Promenade Mall…read more Suburbs' libraries can be really boring especially in the newer subdivisions because I have to say Bathurst Clark Library really lacks any architectural value as a building itself. The inside though is quite nice.. high ceiling.. 2 storeys high.. really open and spacious. There are also some curious love seats... on the right hand side when you enter.. really popular with teenagers. Those have really heavy padded cushions, looks so comfy! I am not that lucky to have one of those lover's seats. However, there are tons of communal tables that have individual study lamps and power bars all wired underneath the tables.. that makes my search for power for my laptop really effortless! WIFI connection is stable and fast. If you do need to use their public computers, a library card is required to sign in. Vaughan's Public Library is the only libraries I been to that has computer terminals that are equipped with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Atmosphere here is more formal.. everyone are whispering and there are no kids running around! :)
