I'd give ZERO stars if I could. They SOLD the car they'd PROMISED to us while we were working out the financing over a holiday weekend. They LIED about trying to call us to let us know there was another buyer. (Apparently they don't realize that smart phones show missed calls.) Even if they had called us, why not leave a message? This is on the heels of terrible customer service from the sales person who appeared to care less about the cars on the lot and who failed to tell us a deposit holds a car. We'd worked out all of the financing and were headed to the lot, check in hand. We were returning customers who had a decent experience with our first puchase but we will never purchase from them again. Have a good experience, tell two people. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM!! They post all their stuff on Facebook marketplace and say it just has hail damage, but if you look up the VIN number on google, images of the car show up from before it was fixed, and they are often cars that have been in accidents prior to the "hail damage". Do not trust these guys at all!! read more

Had a concerning interaction with this company today. You be the judge. I called about a 2017, super low milage, great priced, SUV they have listed on Facebook marketplace and their website. I asked about the history and Dave said the vehicle had prior water damage, but "just the carpet got wet". Said vehicle was from Texas. I stated my intent to see the car in person, and he offered no more information. Given the model year and that the vehicle is from Texas, I start to wonder if this is a flood car. Yep, Total loss in Aug 2017 due to flood. Tip: you can look this up for free online https://www.nicb.org/vincheck https://www.carfax.com/press/resources/flooded-cars So the insurance company totaled a BRAND NEW SUV because "just the carpet got wet"... yea right, Dave. Nowhere in the FB listing or on their website mentions salvage. After stating my intent to see the car in person, he neglected to mention that the vehicle has a prior salvage title - I've never had that happen before. I called back to get the straight story and when asked directly about it he did state that it was a prior salvage. I confronted him about the misleading listings and he said "it should have it. All we do is prior salvage" I looked at every featured vehicle on their website - not a single one of the listings have the word "salvage" anywhere on the page. Ideal for someone looking for a used car. We got a car here recently, drove it around about a week, and then the engine light came on. Since we were still under the warranty, we had them look at it. Turns out the catalytic converter needed to be replaced, and they took care of it quickly. The CD player had also been having problems, so we mentioned it to them. When we came to pick up our car, they had put in a brand new CD player without charging us! The guys here are helpful and friendly. read more

*Sorry about the length of this one, but I'm beginning to regret my decision to go with a smaller auto sales place when buying my *first* car and I need to share. On July 16th, I purchased a car from Carver Auto Sales in St. Paul. Because I live in Wi and purchased a car in Mn -again from a smaller dealership, one that couldn't handle out of state registration themselves- I was given a 30 day "temp plate" and have had to wait to get the title in the mail before I can even begin to register my car in my name. Last week rolls around and I still haven't received the title, so I have my dad give them a call (not sure why but I felt like he would get more info than me) and he is told that the title went in the mail the week before?? Ok, fine, I wait a few more days and all of the sudden its the day that my temp runs out -TODAY- and still nothing. I give Carver a call and they tell me that it was put into the mail this morning? After hanging up without saying anything right away like I should have, I called them a second time and didn't even get 10 seconds into the call before the nice man hung up on me. Then I have my dad call and he is again told that it was put into the mail today, they also tried to make a lame excuse about the address on my license because its my old address. Then, after telling my dad they wouldn't be giving me another temp plate, he hung up on my dad as well! So, why would I have a copy of the paperwork I signed and wrote my actual home address on, giving them permission to send me the title in the mail, if I wanted them to use the address on my ID? AND what kind of dealership waits 30 days before sending out the title of a car without warning and then refuses to issue another temporary slip? read more

Bought an SUV from Dave and was told it had a salvage title, come to find out it had been in a flood and the dash had been replaced with another one from a lower mile unit. Not only were the miles wrong the DMV had issues from the start. We also noticed a shaking noise in the front end and took the vehicle to a Ford dealer only to find out that the tires all had a minimum of 3 inches of water in them from the flood. I have purchased many vehicles in my life but this transaction was by far the sneakiest con job I have ever been involved with. Regardless of the GOOD DEAL Dave tells you he is not truthful!!! I bought a vehicle from Carver Auto last year. I believe most of their vehicles are salvage/rebuilt titles. We were hesitant at first as this was our first time buying salvage, but so glad we did! We had no problems getting financed through Firefly and no problems getting full coverage insurance. We have had absolutely no issues with the vehicle. I was 90 percent through the process of buying a car, had money in hand and everything. At the last possible moment dave (name of salesmen I believe) told me the car was a salvage title. This wouldnt bug me but this was a flood damaged car and he was trying to hide it and that worried me even more. Dishonestly at its finest. read more

My wife and I purchased a hail damaged vehicle and were very pleased with it, so when I was looking for a truck, I looked at Carver and found what I was looking for. I called Dave and asked him about it and was told a window was left open and that the carpet got wet. After driving for 2 1/2 hours and inspecting the truck, it was apparent that a window issue was not what caused the water damage, it had been in a flood and the whole inside has been wet up to the seat rails. Seat mounting bolts were rusty, and there were water/mud marks part way up the engine, 4-6 inches up the inner door frames, and even the trailer light receptacle showed that the lower half had been under water. I should have been suspicious when told that a window allowing water to get in the carpet would cause a vehicle to have a salvage title. After securing money and spending 6 hours of my time just to find out that I had been lied to, I have lost all trust in this business. read more

Sold us a Honda CRV that was supposed to be all wheel drive. Didn't think twice about it because that is what he told us. When we got the title it was a 2 wheel. He said he "thought it was an all wheel drive" Would not take it back or honor his word. Would not trade for another vehicle. Very disappointed in this dealership. Very unfortunate experience. They did not honor their 10 day bumper-to-bumper warranty, stated that the car had been a salvage title, but inspected by the state to remove that label (it had not), and left us with an odometer that didn't count mileage (making it illegal to sell the car). We found a vehicle we wanted and when we went there were treated like dirt in our opinion! The vehicle we wanted turned out to have a SALVAGE TITLE and said nothing about that in the sales advertiosement. There was two other titles exposed om the dsk that were stamped "Salvage" one being flood damaged. The sales person we tralked to knew the price was tohigh and woukld not deal with us at all because he said they were waiting for a snowstorm and someone would come in needing a vehicle right away and pay the high price. We told him we don't have to have a vehicle right away and he stated that that doesn't matter they would get it from somebody desperate. i took that as a "we won't help you" sales pitch and walked out. We planned on paying cash that day for a vehicle and now we will never go there again. They seem to have a lot of the vehicles accumulating with salvage titles. I assume buying from auctions, patching them up and selling high. We will never go there again. read more
