Bought my car just shy of a year ago and had a great purchase experience. The sales rep was friendly, respectful and efficient. I did elect to add on a few of the extended warranties, which as luck would have it I actually got to use when my AC went out a few days ago. I called in to speak to someone and confirm if my warranty would cover it. The manager who took my call confirmed and was great, transferred me to the service department and Jeff was ALSO amazing. In the past I've felt like getting an appointment at the dealer is like pulling teeth, but they were happy to fit me in the next day. Appointment was smooth and efficient, I felt like they were more than happy to make a stressful situation as seamless as possible. I could not be more grateful! My only negative is that I had reached out multiple times a few months ago to inquire about upgrading my infotainment system. Several no-answers later and I did get an email from a woman who was not at all helpful, so I just gave up. I literally just want to give you my money, so I really shouldn't have to beg. read more

I usually never write reviews, but one of the managers, Jesse Howard, sent me an emotional/somewhat degrading text when I asked for a quote on a Mazda CX5. I would highly recommend avoiding this dealership. They claim they are a "single price dealership" so I went elsewhere and got more competitive pricing from sales people that are willing to negotiate. Here is what Jesse wrote to me: "There are many ways I could say why that would never be possible. Every person has their own version or feeling of what a good deal is. Yours is merely a feeling or an intangible that I will never be able to meet or accommodate. Went here to buy a used car and the car we wanted had a chip in the windshield. When we asked about repairs, the manager told us they would only fix it after we buy the car because someone else could want it and they might notice the chip, so they wouldn't need to fix it. He said this was their policy despite also saying 4-5 times it would cost him nothing to fix. Made me concerned about what else they don't fix unless someone notices it. He also said water getting into the chip/crack and freezing (putting the integrity of the windshield at further risk) wasn't a worry because the chip was too small, which is just fundamental misunderstanding of how liquid works. Bought the car and the repair person confirmed the chip would have gotten worse if not addressed so the manager really didn't know what he was talking or was lying about it. read more

Unfortunately the worst car experience I've ever had. I was buying a car from out of state and made that very clear to the salesman. I specifically asked him to send me a video of any damage or wear done to the car. He sent me a video, barely panning over the interior of the car and said "There is no wear on the seats". After receiving my car, I noticed the awful damage on the interior of my car. Even after having to fly down to Minnesota and drive the car back because shipping was delayed three times, they are making me either pay to have it shipped or drive it back down and fly home. Genuinely would describe this as a scam. I am extremely disappointed in how awful and unprofessional this experience was and will never even consider buying from them again. read more

Bought a used 2025 CX-50 Premium with 4,300 miles. A very comfortable car, roomier than the RAV4, peppier than the 2022 RAV4 XLE Premium, and the red is even prettier than the Toyota. Infotainment has much more to offer and in a way that makes it safer and more comfortable for the driver. The Bose sound will blow you away with its fullness and richness. Amazing. My expectations were dashed with the Premium package. I expected the 360 camera, front and rear parking assist, leather, rubber car mats (Minnesota), and a heated steering wheel. It also doesn't have remote start unless you buy a subscription to My Mazda. The Five-Star part of the review was our salesman, Steve Kreun. He was a very pleasant and eager to please man. They have your best interest in mind. I have left my phone there and they emailed me to let me know. When I get my car serviced they ask me about timing and "want to make sure the service is done in a timely manner to not mess up my schedule." WARNING!!! Salesman was incredibly disrespectful and racist. When I inquired about a discount, they were dismissive and told me that the price was non-negotiable. When I asked for a test drive, they were even ruder, asking me why I wanted to test drive if they can't lower the price. When I showed some interest in a CPO car, they tried to pressure me into buying an extra warranty and told me CPO car doesn't have extra warranty, WTF?? They literally treated me like a fool. After posting my initial review I received a message pretty quickly from Brett, the General Manager at this location. I was hesitant to return his call. I was mentally preparing myself. I thought I'd get excuses and have someone defensive to deal with. This wasn't the case at all. I purchased my car on a Saturday, wrote my review that night, and then the dealership was closed the next day. Brett tried to contact me Monday morning. I can tell this guy cares about his business, and he's passionate about customer service. Not once did he make excuses or make me feel like my experience was my own fault. I thought it was pretty cool to get this call, and it's nice to know there are managers that truly care about the customer experience not just the sale. One of my pain points originally was the certification issue. Brett offered to pick up my vehicle, give me one to drive for the day, certify it, and bring it back to try to make things right. I was really surprised by this generous offer, and of course accepted. A couple of days later, a friendly service specialist, Tim, came by my place of employment and picked up my car. He got lost for about 30 minutes and even ended up in the next city over. When he got there the poor guy seemed nervous, he was really apologetic. I felt bad that he drove all over trying to find the place. It doesn't help that I suck at directions. Anyhow, only three hours later Phil, my original salesman helping with the purchase, dropped it of with my pre-owned certification papers. It was a flawless process. I'm appreciative of this manager and the efforts he made to make me a happy customer. I feel a lot better about the purchase. I even think if I was able to work with Phil the entire time, then the actual purchase part of the visit would have went a lot smoother, but he had customers from earlier waiting on him so that was no fault of his. I'd bump this up to a 3.5 if I could for overall experience now. There are some good people at this dealership. I have alway gone to Walser for vehicle purchases (to avoid negotiation hassles), but this might be the last time. Not sure if this is Walser in general or just this location. I went to purchase a used vehicle. It took so long to get through the application and paperwork because they had a server issue (not blaming on them). After everything was done, I went to the car just to find out their was a big scratch on the door (really noticeable). I asked if they were aware of it, and they said they thought I checked already. The only pictures didnt show this. At that point I was so tired (I brought my kids me), I just wanted to go home and didnt want to argue. I know it is a used car, but I thought at least as the dealer you would fix such things (noticable dents and scratch) before selling it to the customer, or else I would gave gone with private sellers. read more

On 11/23/2021 I spoke to a Tino Marin Torres to purchase a used Volvo C30. I told him I will be purchasing cash ($7000ish). He then emails me a finance application, even though I specifically stated I was paying cash. He said that since I was purchasing from out of state , that was necessary. In comes Kyle Bonnay, manager, he agreed that since I was purchasing cash, there's no need for finance application.He instructed Tino to start the sales process. Tino the instructed me to send my drivers license and proof of insurance, which I emailed immediately. The next day I was informed that the car was sold. My issue is that I never would've sent my private I information if I was not under the impression that deal was on. I then spoke with to Kyle and he said that me sending my private information was not a big deal because according to him "it's public information!?". Since when is my drivers license number, insurance info and dob public information?!? Bottom line their Operations and business etiquette leaves a lot to be desired!! read more

Being from warm west Florida, my son surprised us with his decision to take a good job in Bloomington, Minnesota on January 4th. Trying to get him ready for such a big life changing move was indeed a challenge given less than two months of planning time. Having never owned a car, my son definitely needed one. To buy a car here in Florida and drive it out to Minnesota seemed a silly way to put alot of unnecessary miles on the vehicle. So, on the advice of a friend, we decided to buy a car "long distance". Our son went to many dealerships near us and test drove many cars. Settling on a Mazda CX-5, I then proceeded to contact a dealer in the Bloomington area. A Google search later and based on the online reviews, I settled on Walser Mazda in Burnsville, Minnesota. Finding their number online, I called them and was connected to Nicole Knight. After convincing her that I wasn't joking and truly wanted to purchase a car from her over the phone, she quickly recovered and arranged a conference call with me, my wife and my son. In the next month, we went back and forth on the phone and on Zoom conferencing working out the details. As a "Neanderthal" man, I was very apprehensive about this remote purchasing process. In addition, the "supply chain" problems facing auto dealerships made me nervous about the car being available when my son showed up on December 27th. Nicole made this process extremely easy. She was patient with us on the phone, accepting changes to the car purchase order gracefully and without any annoyance. I appreciated her flexibility and her lack of the "traditional" salesperson "pushiness" that I've ALWAYS experienced when buying a new car. That's not to say that she wasn't firm about her suggestions of certain warranties that she truly believed that my son needed with his new car. Her logic and patient explanations convinced me to purchase certain extended warranties and not others. The week of our trip up to Minnesota came and along with it came the upsetting news that my son's car wasn't there yet due to employee shortages at railyards who needed to unload vehicles. Once again, Nicole put up with a aggravated father and arranged it so that my son would have access to a "loaner" car if his vehicle wasn't there in time. Thank goodness, the car DID arrive only a few days late, while we were in town. When we actually met Nicole...face to face, it was at 4:00 on New Years Eve. Instead of rushing us out in order to be home with her family, she stayed with us going over the paperwork fully, explaining everything to us. Then she actually volunteered to go out with my son driving to show him how to use all of the features in his new car and give him a quick course in driving in snowy and icy conditions in Minnesota. Finally, knowing that we are very concerned, worried parents, leaving our son in a new city with no family/friends around, she volunteered to give her personal cell phone number to my son so that he could call her if he ever had any issues regarding his car, emergencies, etcetera. Walser Mazda made a great choice when they hired Nicole. She is a wonderful, caring, competent saleswoman. Nicole reflects well on this dealership. If ever I have any need of an auto dealership in the Minneapolis area, I will DEFINITELY use Walser Mazda. If there is anyone out there who is even thinking of doing a "remote purchase", I suggest you call up this dealership and ask for Nicole. The only "negative" I can even think of, is how can one person be so darned cheerful all of the time? Walser, you've been demoted. My check engine light has come on 3 times since I bought the car. Three. Months. Ago. And while you have fixed it every time, it still comes on. And the part that worries me the most is that you claimed to have done a 160-point (or how many ever) inspection to the car before you sold it to me and you claimed it was a great car. I took my car in for diagnostics and warranty repair. I told them my issues and my thoughts. The first round they charged me 85$ to do a battery test basically, and the infotainment issue they just decided was the screen based on no real diagnostics, but it's usually the screen. so warranty will cover so whatever. But of course they never have anything in stock so it may be weeks before I get it and they won't let me supply it Even if it's genuine Mazda. so I had to take my car back in for brake calipers like two weeks later. I had seen the damage myself and just needed them to do their diagnostic and warranty for it. I also noticed the seat heaters were not working well and to see if they have issues cause my warranty will cover them. i Also stated that the car was still running rough after battery change, spark plugs, serpentine belt and oil change. I had watched the fuel economy and symptoms and after doing a live data scan and watching the fuel trims and oxygen sensor voltage that the oxygen sensors are failing. the service writer got so hung up on the O2 sensors and how they are supposed to check them without a reason like a check engine light. blah blah blah. we go back and forth and I end up giving them my vehicle. They get back to me with the O2 sensors are fine. Seats are fine. And yep front brake caliper boots are torn. Which the tech passively tried to blame me for the damage. he also had lots to say about my battery being Not the right size and slightly crooked in the bracket. Which ISNT a problem! but had nothing to say about the sticking guide pins on the calipers. or the damage to the rotors or pads. I asked them why they would only do a momentary voltage test on the o2 sensors when they are prone to be sporadic? and I had specified that the seats heat works on the back but not the seat and the passenger was better than the driver. But they didn't have data specifying any of it. I assume the tech just turned them on and hit it with an infrared thermometer on the back while it was in the air. so talking to the manager they keep asking me what I want them to do. so for the umpteenth time I told them the car drives rough sporadically. I asked him to detail how they will determine a plan of action. he says it'll start with a test drive to see if he can recreate the rough driving. so I ask him if they collect data on the drive. He says no. I say, so your diagnosis is completely up to your interpretation of rough and what you can experience in a short drive? Long pause. Yes. Wtf? I was laughed at and treated with so much condescension and told that my data doesn't matter, when you guys are charging people for a test drive. don't ask me why fuel trims matter for testing an O2 sensor and then tell me to trust your 20 years of experience When a dude with a 15$ Bluetooth obd2 scanner, a driveway and basic tools can do better diagnostics and has better practices than you. About the only thing you can you do that I can't is way overcharge to flash a computer or program a key fob. And rip people off. And I can probably do most jobs faster than you. I will never bring my car back to this place. And I hope the jerk service writer who laughed at me slips in oil and busts his face. you know who you are. After searching for months at dealerships in Milwaukee where I'm from, my family friend stumbled upon Walser in Minnesota. We contacted them and they were on the look out for a car that had the exact make/model/features I was hoping for! Within minutes, they reached out and informed me they had one on their lot! I ended up making the 5 hour drive to Burnsville and drove away with it the same day. My mom got a new car as well! Right from the start we were greeted by Joshua at the door, the salesman we were working with via phone/email. Before going on a test drive, he pulled the car up front and let it warm up for a bit. On the test drive he pointed out all the key features, we looked under the hood, and he answered any questions I had. The buying process was very easy, as he did most of the paperwork on his computer and we E-signed the documents. There was even another employee who stopped by and introduced himself, as well as thanked us for our business, and making the trip to their dealership. A couple days after owning my vehicle, a yellow engine light appeared on my dashboard. My family called the dealership to see our options. On two separate occasions, Walser Mazda sent my vehicle to a specialist, gave me a 2015 rental vehicle, covered gas and all services 100%. I will never ever set foot near your dealership again. This is the worst car I have ever purchased! Reasons: 1. Two weeks after I bought the car I had discovered that they had put generic spark plugs on when they had "serviced it" 2. The vehicle wont keep Anti-Freeze it it. So it was really wonderful stalling out on I94 3. The exhaust developed a hole in it. 4. I was having a hard time starting my car for a couple of days, the day I decided to take in it after work, the battery died that morning while I was at the gas station. So a off to AutoZone for a new battery! 5. The intake manifold was leaking coolant and another hose had a hole in it.AND it only had THREE bolts when it was supposed to have TEN! 6. On 8/12/12 I was driving back from Park Rapids on I94 and I was hearing a ticking noise. I stopped looked at the engine, (for the reasons I'm unsure of because I know nothing about under the hood) found nothing visible and kept on going. About 5 minutes later going 70mph in the left lane, BOOM! BANG! CLANK! as I make my way over to the shoulder I couldn't believe it. I looked under the hood and there was oil EVERYWHERE! After waiting three hours to be towed the shop called the next day to let me know that a Rod had busted and I would be looking at 4,000 in a new engine and labor. So Walser Mazda, basically you suck. I am appalled that you would sell such a bad car. I also forgot to mention how long I've had the car: 9 months. If you are thinking about buying from Walser Mazda don't. If you are thinking about buying a Mazda, don't. How many old Mazdas do you see on the road? Early 2000's. Why? Because they are junk cars. Take it from me.
