Poison!!! I took my wife to the Carver Hanger three or more weeks or so ago. Place looked interesting until we got inside. We started to notice things were not really clean. Asked if she still wanted to give it a try, she said we should try it. Boy am I sorry now! Sicker than dogs for the rest of the weekend! I didn't report it until today after I was talking to an ole friend who had taken his wife their on a Saturday recently. They had breakfast and returned home where they were sickened for the weekend. They are elderly and don't want to start trouble and did not report it. I will! The Carver Hanger might be a great place to swill beer till the wee hours of the morning, if that's your thing, great, but if you hope to live a long happy life, Don't Touch the Food! read more

We love the comfort and casual atmosphere here. It is often full of locals all coming in for good drinks and comfort food....and can I just say.... NACHO'S!!! They are an experience in themselves! Amazing pizza! I love the Three Bagger. Their crust is delicious and they are generous on toppings and cheese. Pizza is usually ready for pick up in 15-30 minutes and is always hot. Moving out of the city we had to find new options for pizza cravings and this place has been the best pizza I have found within the area so far. We don't have any delivery options and these guys are about a five mile drive. Pizza boxes are good quality too and by the time we get home our pizza is still hot! read more

My husband, daughter, and I all ate there less then a hour ago. My husband turns over his burger and sees mold spots on the bottom. Not just small ones but mold everywhere. I look at mine and its moldy as well. It seems like only the bottoms of it was moldy. I was so mad that I was about to leave. My husband told the guy about it and he didnt seem too concerned. He takes it back and brings out two new burgers and I asked for boxes (at that point er were just done with the place and I wasnt going to waste food so I was going to give it to my chickens) and HE GIVES US THE RECEIPT AND HE MADE US PAY FOR 4 MEALS!!! On the top of the booth we were sitting at there was also a moldy piece of food up there as well so they obviously have a mold issue and they obviously have a cleaning issue. I am so mad I am going to try and report them to the health inspector as well for Clackamas county. read more

I have eaten breakfast on the weekend and Friday night burgers at the hanger every couple weeks for almost 15 years. The people are nice and yes sometimes very busy, but always friendly and polite. The food is consistently good and well prepared. It is fine for families or extended families with the large tables. It's eclectic and charming. The old classic cars are nice to see. Every time I am in town, I stop at The Carver Hanger! Delicious burgers and drinks! Diana/Di was AMAZING! Very personable and made sure all our orders were correct from the beginning. This awesome joint took in our girls basketball team plus parents and siblings with no reservations and they did us up right! Awesome food, great service, relaxing atmosphere and one huge booth where the girls could all sit together. Thanks to this local gem for welcoming us out-of-towners! Cheapest ingredients with the buns, kraft peel and stick cheese, and the shredded ice burg lettus. Way too much special sauce on the burgers so that they were wet and fell apart. Fries tasted like they need to change the grease and were overcooked. My husband said the spicy lentil soup had zero flavor. My family and I went here for Mother's Day. Food was "eh ok". There was only two waitresses on a what most people would say is a super busy day being that its Mothers Day. Needless to say the waitresses were running around like chickens with their heads cut off, it was freezing cold in the place, our waitress walked by me and shoved a knife under my hashbrowns for no apparent reason (I already had one). Just a place I will not return too again. If I would have known I would have waited in line at the Carver Cafe!!!! read more

Food is great but service was less than desirable tonight. Normally when we come we have great service but tonight SUCKED. It seemed like our server was more interested in servicing the larger tables than us. I had ordered a burger with fries and a side salad. He forgot the salad and I had to remind another server (strike 1). When I got my burger and fries, the fries were not hot. They seemed like they were sitting under a warmer for 30 minutes (strike 2). Our server never came back to ask us for refills. (Strike 3). Then we ask for the check so we can leave and go to a real bar, it took almost 30 MINUTES for that.....It absolutely sucked. I'm being generous with the 2 stars and the only reason they are getting that is because the food is halfway decent. read more

This is a restaurant cum bar located in a remodeled old house (or perhaps an old shop with living quarters over) near the Clackamas River bridge at Carver. It has a real character. It's similar to a sports bar -- and it does sport a couple of TV's -- but the focus is on aviation. "Model" aircraft, civilian and military -- both actual models and flyable stuff, the latter not necessarily modeled on full-sized aircraft, hang from the ceilings; and the walls are covered with photos of aircraft. Service is both friendly and good. The menu is fairly broad for a bar: burgers, pizza, clam strips and many more items are on offer. The food itself is mediocre, about what you'd expect in a sports bar. If you're looking for a great burger and fries, go to Red Robin; for more character and less chain-restaurant-plastic-and-noise, go to the Carver Hanger. read more

If you have the chance you should definitely visit the Carver Hanger! My boyfriend and I went one night after we went disc golfing and decided to get some pizza. We had heard good things about it so we figured we would stop in. The pizza was amazing. Literally amazing. And the bar is awesome you can throw peanut shells on the floor and the outside patio is really nice as well as covered although it is right next to a busy road. But other than that I would recommend to visit and get the pepperoni pizza! Yumm! read more

The sign above the kitchen door that says "slave quarters" is a bit odd and probably a bit out of touch. The service was good and the people seem friendly. In the same league as Helvetia and Stanisch's, but closer for us. They get all the burger details right: the perfect big bun, fabulous meat seasoned just right, and mountains of fresh vegetables (lettuce,tomatoes, onions). And then you top off the burger with PERFECT hand cut french fries. Simply amazing. Their sandwiches are also superb for the same reasons: I regularly opt for the ham and swiss on rye with mountains of fresh vegetables. The kids are real partial to the fish and chips, plus the Oreo shakes. And they have a HUGE selection of great beers on tap for mom and pop. I love the atmosphere, great beer selection, good service, friendly people, and I love the "eat peanuts and throw the shells on the floor idea". But I also love peanuts and the peanuts on each table are really poor quality. The shells are often broken, the peanuts stale or maybe even semi-rancid. I can't imagine a business that apparently puts so much effort to have such a great business and then buy the poorest quality/cheapest peanuts possible. I want to like this place, I really do. It's close, convenient, it's near the river, and I have never had to wait to be seated. Unfortunately, the first time I ate here, the steak (that the waitress recommended) was terrible and our service was sketchy at best. The second time I ate here, the pizza we ordered tasted bad...as in maybe the meat (salami) was on the edge of being past it's prime. The last time I ate here, the hamburger was delicious! Unfortunately, our service was bad...really bad...I mean like I don't know how the waitress crosses the street by herself bad. The food just isn't that good. Servers are so nice it almost makes up for the fact that the food is so greasy/salty. Fried clams are good but the order has less clams and more fries each time, salads are so basic it is almost funny, got comped for the fish and chips last time we went because they were greasy on the outside and soggy on the inside. Unfortunately, not many other places to go to eat around this part of town. I want it to be good so we are going to give it one more chance. read more

We ate breakfast here once and it was decent. We tried to go back for dinner and waited to be acknowledged. After 15 minutes I had to go up to the bar to verify there was a server on duty in our section. They said someone will be with us in a minute and gave us a menus. We waited another 10 minutes and flagged down a food runner (or other wait staff) and she said she would put in our drink order for us and let our server know. Another 10 minutes went by and I went up to the bar to ask if our drink order had been filled yet and they said no. I told them to cancel our order and we left. I would have given them only 1 star if we had not had an ok experience with our previous breakfast. read more

My husband and I love The Hangar!! We live one mile away and it is always our go to restaurant. Yummy breakfast on the weekend mornings and good bar food and drinks for dinner!! We always get great friendly service when we go there. My husband loves the poker machines there also...as long as he wins money ;-).
