Disappointed! Good people, nice place. Service was not attentive. Ordered 2 mushroom Swiss burgers, full price, not a special. Burgers were small, patties were thin, but good flavor. Problem: almost no mushrooms. Nobody asked or seemed to care if we were happy. We weren't. The cooks shirt said it all. Everyone at our table had burgers except one person who got pizza. The burgers were very dry due to there being very little condiments on them, so we all dipped our burgers in our ketchup. They have tons of beers on tap, large menu with legit food (don't recommend the Buffalo pizza, tastes frozen and boring). Well first off this place is not in a great location for covid, looks like all the surrounding businesses have slowed, so I hope they keep alive through this because that had some amazing burgers... Now when I first rolled up to this place it looked like a dusty bar on a long road out of town... surrounded buy a business park haha... naturally these days burgers are 12 bucks, these come with a side... and right now they're doing a beeer and burger/side for 10 bucks.. missed that by calling in my order! Got a few burgers and a chicken sandwich. Chicken was very generic, but was still good... the burgers were amazing, maybe I was super hungry.. maybe not, I thought they were the best burgers I've had in a while, granted I haven't been eating out much. I don't think I have ever ordered a mushroom burger at any restaurant ever in my life. It always seems like it's going to be soggy and gross. Went there yesterday with friends. My friend ordered the mushroom burger. I even heated it up to have a bite today, and it was the yummiest burger! I am also not a fan of onion rings because they're usually soggy. Great food available here. The street tacos are AMAZING! Can't wait to order them again. The service was slow but they were busy and only had 2 servers. It was pretty loud there as it was quite busy. The bartender was friendly and on top of taking my order. The bar has multiple pool tables. Lots of seating.. the couches where comfortable. The room feels open. Dont buy gift certificates! I received some for Christmas and was met with several restrictions that are not stated anywhere on the gift certificate. I was told they couldn't be used at happy hour, and I could only use one at a time. Gift certificates are straight money and not a promo deal, so I should be able to use them as I please. It's ridiculous that they got their full amount of money paid for the certificates but restrict how I spend it. It also affects the severs tip. If I can only use $20 instead of $60, then the servers tip goes from $12+ to $4. Out of pure principal I won't order anything past the amount Im allowed to use on my gift certificate. They also expire in 6 months. All in all, I think the gift certificate policy is pretty sketchy. read more

The waitress came pretty fast she was pleasant. When we got there she bought us our menus and came back for the order and then we waited quite a while for just a pizza and fries. The table behind us was checked on quite a few times and she has to walk right by us to get there didn't check on us didn't refill our waters or ask if anything was needed. We waited around for 20 minutes or so for the bill finally got up and went up to ask for a box and the bill, then sat there for like 10 minutes more and finally went up and paid because they were taking so long. They didn't acknowledge us at all knowing we were done because we had asked for a bill in the box. She was pleasant as we left saying have a good day but that's probably cuz she hadn't seen the very little tip I left for the no good service we received. read more

I'm 61 years old and I just got 86'd from Jo's Saloon in Milwaukie. Why? A couple weeks ago, I questioned their servers why they were not wearing masks. I admit I was aggressive and probably should have checked my behavior. They, of course, allowed me to hold my husband's Celebration of Life on 9/25 following this interaction, but waited until 10/15 to tell me I am no longer welcome at Jo's because I made other customers "uncomfortable." They served my 40+ guests and myself all day long. I am not a regular at Jo's so this is not super upsetting. What is upsetting is that they chose to wait until tonight. PS: Following my ouster tonight, they allowed a group of Proud Boys in the bar. The Proud Boys are categorized as a domestic terrorist group by the FBI. The owners are anti-mask, anti-vaxx and support the alt-right movement. How many people were "uncomfortable"because of the presence of the Proud Boys?? Please use your judgement whether to patronize this establishment. read more

I have been frequenting this place a fair amount. I don't drink in public, but I do like to watch big games at a bar with good food. Jo's is a great place with good food and service. Their Clam Chowder: I LOVE Clam Chowder, but I never would have imagined that a sports bar in Milwaukie would have a really solid chowder, but they do. They serve it with some "garlic bread" and soup crackers. It tastes even better if it's a day old imo. Lot's of food selections with some fascinating specials. They also do a great Sunday Brunch! Okay I have to preface this by saying that Jo's is a Sports Bar. But for a sports bar close to my neighborhood I'm giving it 5 stars because of the food, the value, and the people. Everyone is so friendly- Philly, Rachel, Teresa, Kyle, Bradley. We are on keto and they have lots of options, love the hamburger salad and the dry rub wings are the best! My son loves the pizza- I think the owners used to own a pizza place so they def know what they are doing. During football it gets pretty rowdy and they give out prizes. Honestly I didn't have high hopes this being the establishment that it is but nothing could prepare me for the experience I was about to have at Jo's saloon. Hands down our server was the worst server I've ever dealt with in my life. First thing I have to mention is the unwanted hand touching she was doing to me and my boyfriend. We informed her when she initially arrived at the table that we were ready to order our food and drinks. She pushed back on this that I will get your drinks and then we'll go from there on the food. So we waited the drinks came and she ran off didn't ask us anything about what we wanted to eat. So we gave it a while to see if maybe she was coming back because she had some plans to take care of this and the other thing first. She did not come back. We were on our lunch so I took the initiative to go up to the bar and ask her to put in our food order. I received way too much attitude for no reason upon this happening. Then she couldn't remember who had what to eat and actually was walking around with our food trying to figure out who ordered it. We never received our drinks only a lot of attitude. I would not have normally ventured into a place of this sort for lunch with my boyfriend but I was working very close by and didn't want to travel far for lunch. Boy what a disappointment I set myself up for on this one. There were eight of us dining tonight at Jo' and we sat in the covered outdoor area. We sat at a table above concrete flooring (I have a reason for mentioning this). There was one other table of patrons. The overall experience of dining at Jo's was deplorable. We were given only two menus for 8 peiple. We sat nursing our first round of drinks for almost 30 minutes. One of couples who arrived a little later waited nearly 15 minutes and finally sought out the waitress from inside the restaurant to ask for service. What happened to cutlery being on the table? Opposite the parking lot entrance is a section for smokers. The wind blew all the smoke in to our faces. Most of us do not smoke. We found the smoke ruined the dining experience l. There were two young women playing a ridiculous game in which thick wooden pieces are stacked vertically on top of a table. Two times the stack of pieces crashed to the tile floor. The sound reverberated everywhere further annoying all of us. The only good thing about dining at Jo's was the food. Our group plans to erase Jo's from our list of restaurants. read more
