This is a nice and cute Mexican place in Kellogg close to the resort we were staying. We were starving after a long day and there didn't seem like a lot of options in town. When we came to casa de oro, it was full of people and had a fun vibe. We got a table quickly enough and were given chip and salsa. This was good. The salsa was not spicy but had good flavors. Kiddo loved it. For me, i had a hard time picking an option as it wasn't apparent on what can be made vegetarian. Usually the other places i have been to are able to switch meat with beans or veggies but here there was some resistance in some dishes. I did order veggie burrito. Hubby ordered mexican pizza with fajita veggies. The food was good. Mexican pizza was flavorful and cheesy. Burrito was decent too. Service was friendly and good. We will be back if we are around this area next time.

This is just a little hole in the wall and we almost didn't stop. But I am so glad we did. My husbands chicken fajitas were awesome and he got more chicken than he could eat. My tortilla soup is what prompted me to write this review! It was the absolute best I've ever had! I could not finish it either and honestly I want to take it all the way back to Oklahoma with me so I can find someone to help Me figure out how to make it! I cannot even describe the flavor.. the broth was unbelievable, a little spicy but so much flavor. I could go on and on. Don't pass up this place just because it's small It is worth your time

Second trip was amazing, if not better, than the last! Everyone's meal was amazing, and drinks and chips came very quickly. The service was swift and friendly, as they ensured getting us seated before the arrival of a big party, so we wouldn't have to wait. The music playing was enjoyable to all, and we were seated in a booth in the corner, which helped with the kiddos sensory sensitivities. If you happen to come through town, this place is definitely worth a stop!

We are in town from WA to enjoy Silver Mt ski/snowboarding and the water park. Our group of sixteen called ahead and asked for a table for dinner after a fun day on the mountain. The staff was incredibly friendly and efficient. All beverages arrived swiftly. The salsa carafes were a brilliant touch. Our food didn't take long and arrived hot and delicious. The Veggie Fiesta was really good. My husband ordered a surf & turf combo and said it was fantastic. Overall, our group of six adults and TEN kids had a great experience.

The new birria tacos are heavenly. Absolute perfection. Everything I've ever had has been quite delicious. The Saint Marie's location should really try and follow suit as to food quality. Service is normally pretty good. The drink menus could use a good scrub down but as for food.... I've always enjoyed my meal.

We were passing through Idaho and decided to stop here for dinner. The two waiters were amazing! They were the only two taking orders and tending to all the tables so quickly! The food was great; large portions! If we ever make it to Idaho again, we will definitely come back! read more

Walked into this little hole in the wall place on a rainy night in June to find it almost full! I couldn't believe it! The food was great, and super fast. The ambiance was great too, almost like you were in a restaurant in Mexico. read more

My review will be as short as my experience here. I walked in as they opened and was told to sit where I like. I was brought a clearly not cleaned container of salsa and chips. Me being a little braver then most decided to try the salsa and chips even though visually it was disgusting. I took two chips and tried it but as I went for a third I found a piece of candy in the salsa. I promptly walked out and grabbed some NyQuil because I have a feeling I'll be feeling this later. Try Sams down the road, I'm here now and the food at least looks like it was prepared. read more

Stopped in for a late lunch/ early dinner, and at 3pm the place was still full. The menu was full of the normal Mexican fare, but also had a expanded menu of rare specialty items which was unexpected. All of the food that we had: mole, nachos, and pollo ala creame were solid. The portions were good sized and of course the chips and salsa were unending. The atmosphere was bright and festive, and the service was wonderful. read more

Nice small family restaurant where they make an effort to do a good job. Food is above average (not fancy) and I was very happy with the service. Food is basic but the price is very reasonable. I would recommend this to any family looking for a good lunch or dinner. read more

My husband, toddler, and I all had an amazing dinner here on the 22nd. The waitstaff were incredibly friendly (even bursting out in song a few times to my daughter's delight) and the food was excellent. The prices were quite reasonable and the portions were good--and packed full of flavour! One of the guys also stopped to talk to my very chatty daughter, who had to tell him all about the yummy food (and how dirty her jacket was. Ah, two year olds.) I'll definitely swing by here again next time we have a few spare dollars! read more

It's a small restaurant in a small little town located by Dave Smiths motors. We arrived with a large appetite and we were not disappointed with what we got. We ordered the Juares plt with a tamale, enchilada, and a chile relleno. We also ordered the Casa de Oro chimichanga plt. The servings were large and we just about ate all of it. It's a great restaurant for those who want great Mexican food at a great price. read more

If you are driving through Kellogg Idaho on your way to another destination, this is a terrific stop to grab a meal. The food is terrific, and the staff is exceptional. A great feeling all around. Even the bathroom is festively decorated. read more

I'm originally from Kellogg and I brought my husband and in-laws on road trip through Northern Idaho. Even though my in-laws were hesitant to go to a Mexican restaurant in Idaho (since they are from San Diego their expectations are a bit high) we stopped at Casa de Oro, Anyway, it did not disappoint and we were all VERY pleased with the food, the service and the margaritas. This is a gem! I wish Denver had a restaurant this authentic. YUM YUM! read more

Wow, this place is great. Some of the best mexican food we've had! Including living in/travelling to Mexico. The horchata was the best we have ever had. Nice and frothy. The tacos al pastor were so tasty and flavorful. The fajitas were great. It left us eating long after we were "full". The service was very good. Great family business. I can't wait til the next time I'm in Kellogg simply to eat at Casa de Oro! read more

Yummm! Hit the spot passing through on our way to Glacier Park. Super friendly welcoming staff, clean atmosphere and bathroom and great salsa and food! I would have loved crispy rellenos vs soft but my wife loved her food and they treated us super well. Bang for the buck cannot be beat anywhere. read more

I think my family found a new favorite. We'd never eaten here before, and walked in with 10 people on a Thursday evening. We were welcomed and promptly seated. The service was amazingly fast and friendly. The food was great. Everyone in the group was quite happy. I'm sure we'll return next year. Hopefully this place sticks around. They look like they're fairly popular. read more

This is truly one of the friendliest, most hospitable restaurants I have ever visited. Service with a smile doesn't begin to explain what I experienced. I felt as if a good friend had invited me over to dinner and was doing everything in his power to ensure that I felt welcome. There was a great selection of authentic Mexican cuisine and the preparation time was perfect. I can't wait to go back! read more

There isn't much seating inside and on the day we were there it was unseasonably cold, so patio seating was out of the question. We were able to play a little table Tetris with some of the other diners and piece together a spot for the three of us. The interior is decorated with lucha libre masks and art, so it adds a funky vibe. There was one waitress holding down the restaurant and she was on top of it! She greeted us and was back within a few minutes to take our order. I'm primarily vegetarian, but sometimes splurge on seafood, so I couldn't pass up the Shrimp Al Fuego taco as I love spicy food. It was large for a street taco and was packed with large, juicy shrimp. I will say it was not that spicy, as advertised, (although I have a high spice tolerance) and a bit on the expensive side, but very flavorful. I do wish the tortilla was warmed or toasted to amplify the flavor. They had a huge selection of hot sauces, including some local ones, which was really cool. I was tempted to try a margarita, but they didn't have the seasonal huckleberry jalapeño available, so I decided to stick with water. Even less flavor I would say. The tostada salad was a good size. It's a salad. Pretty hard to mess it up, honestly. My favorite part was the tostada bowl though. The people who are from Southern California would not call this an authentic Mexican restaurant but maybe the locals like it this way.

I wish I had words that would properly explain my frustration with this place. But this will have to do. My family and I arrived from hawaii to your beautifult only to be told that this was the place to go! We after a 6 hour long drive from Oregon rushed to our room quickly changed and raced to your restaurant, we arrived at 8:21 pm only to be greeted by a very rude waiter and a cook who could not look at us to tell us sorry our kitchen is CLOSED! 39 mins before your closing time!! As we saw 3 separate tables who had just received these food we pleaded with the waiter and cook as they refuse to serve. We ask for to go and still nothing. I am speechless of your unprofessional attitude and the fact that your cook runs your restaurant. We come here once a year and will NEVER SHARE a dinner with your restaurant. It's difficult to find good Mexican food in Idaho, so we were delighted to discover this out of the way gem. The salsa was very mild and I only found out at the end of the meal that there were other house salsas you could request. My wife had tacos and, unfortunately they came with premade (not made on the premises) crispy shells. Check one off the list of "concessions to Americans who don't know Mexican cuisine". Otherwise she enjoyed it. I had the chili verde, with very nice tasting green sauce. This was also very mild but they are appealing to a local clientele.
