We waited in the outdoor patio area where there was plenty of seating and room for many to talk and wait comfortably. In spite of that, our wait time wasn't long. The beautiful decor and lay out allowed for spacious seating and allowed for conversation in spite of the large number of people. The service was friendly, timely, and consistent. The food was correct, warm, beautifully displayed, and delicious. Any additional requirements were brought in a timely and congenial manner. We were treated as if we were the only ones there even though the restaurant was full and busy. We were not rushed either. Dined in for the first time for lunch. The host stand is in front as you walk in. We were greeted immediately. Asked specifically for a table and was placed in a round booth. Our server greeted us right away with a drink order and asked if we wanted appetizers. We went with the Trio. The queso blanco is delicious, and the guacamole and yellow chile con queso were decent. My usual go-to at any Tex-Mex are the fajitas for 1 or 2. After seeing these skillets coming out one after the other Sizzling hot, I couldn't wait to get mine. The menu is expansive and, of course, includes margaritas of many choices and lots of beer to choose, including draft. There is a huge 360 bar in the center of the space. The food comes out pretty quickly. However, there is one thing that is totally wrong. My skillet of fajitas is not sizzling??? I check the temp of the food and it is warm but not hot?? This is a big deal to me, but I did not want to make a scene of it due to guests in my party. I don't understand from a kitchen standpoint how this was allowed to go to the table, not sizzling hot? Also you are only provided 2 tortillas to make tacos. I guess I could have asked for more but would have been charged for it. The meal itself tasted good. Charro beans and rice were excellent! I placed a DoorDash order through them and my order was completely wrong and I received no chips and salsa or utensils. When I called to explain the situation Maria said "even if I wanted to help you I can't because you ordered through DoorDash" what a terrible way to handle and word the situation as a manger. Really great service! We came for the $5 Margaritas (Only on Mondays) and they put on the glass salt or tajin and let me tell you they are delicious really flavorful. We ordered the platter appetizer for $21 and to my opinion it is a little bit small, but the food really good! For dessert we ordered the tres leches cake and its so juicy and delicious! This is a must have if you come. Our server really attentive and helpful because it was our first time here and didn't know what to ordered, he game some suggestions and I'm really glad I went over what he suggest us because everything was delicious! If it wasn't for the manager on duty I would given more stars. If you don't know the Federal and State(s) law on service establishments, please look it up and familiarize yourself with the law. We went on 26th of August 2023 for dinner. We have a service dog and she was with us. The hostess and the couple of employees at the stand NEVER said anything about her. We sat down and within a couple of minutes the shift manager came over and said "no dogs are allowed". We explained she was a service dog and he again said "no dogs allowed, even service dogs and our sign in the front says that." (See picture posted and it clearly says otherwise). I told him services dogs are allowed in any establishment per State and Federal Law and he kept insisting we could not be in there and had to leave. At that point other tables starting to turn and watch and it was embarrassing. Our Server even knew the law and he said she was allowed. We asked for his manager and he said he would go call her and quickly came back asking what services she provided and wanted to know details which by law they can not ask. He left and never came back. We stayed, ordered and enjoyed each others company all the while the service dog laid on the floor and didn't move. Towards the end the owner came in for dinner. I apologized to interrupt them and explained the situation. In a way he was understanding but at the same time seemed like he didn't care. He didn't even bother coming over to our table to apologize for the incident. Very poor training especially with management. read more

This is a relatively new business per the waitress! We stopped here on a road trip for a late lunch. The restaurant is very spacious and has an interesting look to it. There is a lot of seating to include, booths, regular tables and bar seating. There is a cool outside seating area with fire tables. We were provided with a complimentary order of chips and 2 salsas. There was a red sauce and a green cream sauce. The red was real spicy. the other was absolutely delicious! We both ordered the enchilada plate. I got the cheese with the green sour cream sauce. My husband got chicken with a green tomatillo sauce(not the same as the green cream). We both enjoyed the enchiladas. The beans were awful! Definitely not a fan of them for sure! The rice was okay. Our server was pleasant and our food arrived quickly and hot! The price was average. Total without tax was $27. (We only drank water.) My wife and I along with her sister and cousin and two young boys in tow came here to eat lunch this past Saturday. My wife and I had been by here, but the name when first constructed was Red River Cantina. The next time it looked like it was sitting idle and then the next time it had changed name's to Casa Julia! We lived in League City a couple of years ago and we knew Red River was really good and had been meaning to stop and never did. Her sister and cousin had stopped here a few weeks ago and said that the food was fabulous!! So we made plans to ask get together and come back. I'm glad we joined them!!! It was the Saturday before Christmas and I really thought it would be packed with everyone out shopping, but it really wasn't, or just didn't look like it. The inside is really big and had ample room! We were promptly seated and our waiter whose name was Brandon quickly came and introduced himself and got our drink orders. We looked over the menus and everything really sounded good!!! I ordered Sweet Tea with lemon, my wife and her sister both ordered the Margarita Flight with 4 different flavors to try from. My wife's cousin ordered Margarita and I went ahead and added a Jalapeno Margarita to my drink order. Brandon came back out with Tea's, water, and Cokes for the two boys and brought out 3 baskets of chips with bowls of Red Salsa for everyone. We asked for some of their Green Salsa also! I can tell you right now that their Red Salsa is fantastic!!! It had a smoky flavor and you can tell that the peppers were roasted very well! Probably some of the best Salsa I've had and I've had a lot! Brandon came back with the Margaritas for everyone and took our dinner orders, we passed on any Appetizers, but they all looked good too! I ordered the Barbacoa Taco dinner that comes with two Big Barbacoa Tacos with your choice of flour or corn tortillas. I ordered the flour tortillas and it also came with rice and refried or Barracho beans. I got the refried. My wife ordered the Chely plate that is a Nacho and Carbon enchilada combo with Chile con queso Sour cream, pico, and rice and beans, Her cousin and sister all ordered the same. Our 8 year old son got the cheeseburger with rice and beans??? My wife's sister's son had chicken nuggets with rice and beans. Brandon got our orders turned in and came back out and refilled our chips and salsa bowls. My Jalapeno Margarita was really good and spicy! My wife's flight of Margaritas came with a Watermelon Margarita, Jalapeno and Cucumber Margarita, Mango and Chamoy Margarita, and a House Margarita. She liked the Watermelon Margarita most out of them all! He sister liked all the Margaritas in her flight, while their cousin said her Mango and Chamoy Margarita was really good! Brandon came out a short time later with our entrees. My Barbacoa Tacos were really good!!! Plenty big with nice filling and Onions and Cilantro to go in them. Just really good flavored barbacoa too!!! My wife and the rest agreed that everything on they're Chely Plates was just plain delicious!!! The atmosphere throughout is just plain relaxing, nothing is rushed and I can't say enough about our waiter who kept tabs on our large bunch and was extremely nice, very courteous, and very accommodating. He really did a great job while juggling other tables at the same time. The ambience is also very nice. The decorations throughout really for nicely with Casa Julia's Tex-Mex theme! Really nice tiles throughout on the floors and walls. There is a seating area outside the entrance with fountains to pitch pennies in. The aesthetics of the restaurant are so cute from the designs on the wall to the furniture and color scheme selection. The food and majority of staff were great! Unfortunately, my experience was not. My party arrived before I did and upon arrival i was informed that there were some racial comments made by some of the staff at this location. My party spoke to management about the situation, came to an arrangement, and proceeded to be seated. As we were being seated I heard one of the waitresses say "oh god help me", "that's just great", or something along those lines (negative) which immediately changed my perception of the service which we were about to receive. I understand a large table may be overwhelming, but when you work in a customer centric environment you don't show the customer(s) that you don't look forward to assisting them. While taking our orders the waitress tossed/threw straws on the table passive aggressively. When she came back she also threw the napkins on the table and didn't even take the time to organize herself and have our orders situated. She asked every single person what their drinks were displaying a lack of effort and respect. I thought it was just our server, but i went to the bar and the bartender was bland in service and her tone showed she didn't want to be there. Furthermore, when my party proceeded to pay the checks the waitress was displaying a willingness to assist that she lacked throughout our entire meal and when i was paying my ticket we asked her for a to go box and she was said okay and urged us to pay. Unfortunately, i do not remember our waitresses' name. Not opposed to giving this restaurant another try, but i do hope that in the future the staff all work together to provide great customer service to their clients, don't have racial remarks, and change my customer experience. read more
