We also got the mushroom croquette which was the best we had in Madrid! The waiter was actually the bartender and he was awesome. Very friendly and gave us recs on what to order. The owners work during the day and are very nice. In the evenings, my favorite employees work too. They're super friendly and down to earth. They're approachable and easy to talk to. Plus they play great music and make great sandwiches at night. You can also tell that there are a bunch of regulars too because of the service and the atmosphere. The vibe is nice and cosy for breakfast and lunch. The one downside is that it can get pretty loud after midnight when the music gets louder and the bar gets packed, shoulder-to-shoulder, but I still love the place.

She also recommended cutting my portion into 1/4 or half size so that I could try more dishes. Her attentive service merited 10 stars. In addition to the chorizo croquettes, my other dishes were cuttlefish risotto and callos, both turned out to be exceeding my expectation! And the 1/2 portion were actually quite huge!!! In fact, everything we got was under €3.75. Our most expensive item was the tortilla de patata, which was deliciously proportioned (a great ratio of runny to solid). Not only was the food and drink very cheap but it was also delicious. We tried a smorgasbord of tapas. I did not necessarily delight in all the tapas, some were just not my bag baby. After doing some research, I found this place offered traditional Spanish tapas with a modern flair. I stopped in late, around 11pm but the place was lively. I loved the modern decor and would recommend this spot to tourists and locals alike! For dinner, I started with the "Alubia negra de Gernika con chorizo y piparras" which was a red soup with black beans and sausage. It was very tasty with the bread that was served warm with my meal. Afterwards, I got the "Albóndigas de Buy Carbonara con Guanciale, pecorino rallado y yema de huevo" - which were some of the best Albondigas I have ever tasted. Seriously GET THEM, even if it is just to share. They were so good I wanted to go back the next night and get them again. This would be a great date night spot or place to celebrate a birthday. The staff was extremely professional and help (they suggested I order a 1/4 portion of the soup because of the size, which was very helpful). LaKsa was pricey but I think the cost matched the experience. If I have the chance, I will definitely come back.
