Bummer- went and was first in line 6 people behind me. I wanted a pedicure and manicure-was paying cash and tip well. First time there. They had 6 massage chairs open up and told me I couldn't be in a chair. I told them the whole reason I came was to relax in a massage chair while they did my nails. They told me no- I wasn't allowed that... I don't understand why they told me no yet allowed all the people behind me to sit in chairs and get both. I was dressed nice and nice to them ... Paris 2023 - Located on the left bank off of st. Germain Blvd., is this perfect spot. After many days of amazing French food it was good to take a break and go Italian. Excellent arancini app with linguini al frutti di mare cooked under a pizza crust as entree; finished off with a cannolo siciliano. Perfect with a nice montepulciano red. It may surprise you to hear that one of the best Italian restaurants in Europe is in Paris. L'Oliverto isn't particularly fancy and the service is "light touch" to say the least (don't expect to be pampered). But the food is exceptional, and the wine list is both diverse and well-priced. We started with a burrata / prosciutto combo covered in a thin, wood-fired bread that resembled Indian nan. The concoction resembled a culinary stegosaurus (see photos) and was mid-blowingly fantastic. From there we enjoyed the lasagna - some of the best I have ever had - and a seafood medley served in a large caldron covered in a thin, pizza-crust style bread ceiling. Our server presented the dish before theatrically breaching the bread ceiling to mix together the seafood deliciousness. A decent Italian, that locals seem to love. Personally, I am a bit more on the fence. We were brought here by a couple of friends living in Paris suburbs, that are apparently swearing by it as the best Italian they've ever tasted. Given that we were in Paris, my hopes were pretty high, and after an extensive chat with the chef, I settled on their fish dish of the day, that according to him was amazing. While waiting, we ordered some Italian red and an antipasti. The bread and antipasti were pretty good, which got my hopes even higher. Unfortunately, I was wildly disappointed when I got an overcooked breaded fish, without any sauce, flavor or seasoning. I mean, almost 30 for a dish I could swear I could have gotten in a cantine? My companions experience however was a bit better with pasta and pizza, but after sampling a bit from their dishes, I was a bit underwhelmed. It's not that it was bad; it was just waaaay overhyped. The internal decoration is a bit dark and lackluster, but the chef is fun and treats costumers in a true Italian chef fashion, which is a bonus point. Overall, it's an ok location, but don't buy into the hype. read more

After more than a year away Gandolfo recognized us and swing his arms wide with a huge grin and welcomed us "back home". We stayed on the other side of Paris than we normally do, but we made a special trip back to this side where we normally stay just to see our friends and have the best Italian food in Paris. Ok, so the important part... the Food...The special Anelletti Al Forno.... OMG!! The Daviola Pizza with spicy salami is an absolute must!! Everything we have tried. A perfect warm atmosphere for a rainy night. My husband and I were caught in a sudden downpour and popped into an Italian restaurant near where we were staying. We had French food all week and decided that some Italian pasta can be a good change of pace during our Paris trip. There was really not much outside seating but the AC was strong inside. Service is okay - the waitress was nice and they had English menus; but they had 2 covering the entire restaurant so they didn't come by often enough. For example, they forgot to offer pepper for the entrees. This restaurant hardly salts their food, which is normal. So a small sprinkle of salt in their pasta really does make the dish come alive and taste better. Initially, everything was bland. The salmon pasta was too fishy. The traditional carbonara was the best. Pasta was well cooked. At the end it was a decent meal catered to Tourists. Not much to write home about. read more

Wonderful Italian cuisine and owners were welcoming and warm to us as Americans! In house homemade gnocchi was delicious served with a homemade tomato, basil sauce! L'Oliveto has excellent neopolitan pizza. L'Oliveto was near our hotel in the Saint Germain district. They have authentic Neapolitan style pizza. They waitstaff and the owner were very friendly. It was late when my youngest son ordered gelato. We tried to rush him to finish and the owner let him take his bowl with him. It was such a nice gesture. read more

Came here for dinner one night in Paris because it is ranked very high on Trip advisor. It was good. The Mojito was not made well, but other than that the food was excellent. I had the gnocchi with eggplant and my dinner date had a pizza. Both were good. With all of the restaurants in Paris I don't know if I'd go back again. read more

Sadly I cannot speak to the quality of the food here. After walking in with about 80% of the restaurant empty at 6pm, the host asked the manager if they had room for my daughter and wife. He shook his finger and said no. Before leaving an Italian couple came in. My wife speaks Italian and heard them ask if they had a table for 2. Same manager shook his head yes this time to which the couple said 'thanks a million.' Not sure if the issue was that we had our 5 year old with us, were an odd number of people, or that we were American.
