This place was packed and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. We got a table fast and drinks arrived very fast. Our food order was taken shortly after our drinks arrived and the food came out fast for our children and both my wife and I had to wait a bit and each of ours came out separately. My wife's was cold and my nachos didn't have much flavor. Our children loved their burritos and beans and rice. We might try it again in the future.

    Camarones a la diabla

Standard interior for a Mexican restaurant. Margaritas were delicious. When I went to order Camarones a la Diabla the waitress sounded condescending when she asked if I "could handle it, it's really hot." It was delicious. Would come back again!

We were fishing all day and didn't catch enough fish for a full meal, just a snack! So we decided to go out for dinner and most were interested in Mexican. When they mentioned Casa Mexicana I initially thought they were talking about Casa Mexicana in Ladysmith, WI, where we had eaten the day before on our way to Chetek that we both thought had overly salty rice. But we quickly learned that this was a different location in the same family so we went with the group and I'm glad we did! When we arrived the parking lot was almost completely full bu we managed to find a spot as someone was just leaving! Inside was also completely packed with many waiting to be seated. My wife went to the check in counter to see how much of a wait we could expect for our party of six! She came back and we were told too follow her and the hostess for immediate seating; not sure what happened or how but we weren't complaining! But once we were seated and our drinks and Chips & Salsa delivered to our table we ordered and then waited for over an hour and a reminder before our food showed up. My wife ordered Grilled Vegetarian Fajitas and I ordered the Casa Combo with added Guacamole. Then the wait began! When the food arrived, all the frustrations disappeared and all six of us enjoyed what we ordered! My Casa Combo included 2 Hard Tacos, 2 Tamales in corn husks, and 2 Mini Chimichangas plus my added Guacamole that came with Rice and Beans, Cilantro, Sour Cream, and the Guacamole. The Rice was not too salty like the Casa Mexicana in Ladysmith. When we were finishing up the manager stopped by to apologize for the delay saying they had more customers due to it being Father's Day, Sunday, and he was short staffed because some didn't show up! But we did enjoy the food.

Casa Mexicana... Mexican House... all right! We ordered takeout and everything was pretty good. Online ordering worked very well and our food was ready around the time that they estimated. I love that their menu has Burrito Land and Taco Land sections on it. I do wish that Burrito Land and Taco Land were actual nations that I could visit or emigrate to in an escapist mood. Veggie fajitas were pretty good, as were the bean chimichangas. "Nachos beans" were... well, beany. If there were a downside, everything vegetarian had beans and rice (and lots of it) and it felt like too much beans and rice for one meal. Not that any of it was bad, but there just wasn't enough variety or creativity on the veggie side of the spectrum. The guacamole is good. You'll want the large one! Chips were only so so. I'd like to dine in sometime, after this viral 2020 goes into the history dumpster.

If you want authentic and fresh Mexican food--this is the spot! Worth the drive and service was amazing! Everything we ordered was seasoned so well! We are well traveled to Mexico and this place transported me back to some of my fav spots! If your looking for amazing authentic cuisine and a fun spot --this is it! Price was so reasonable as well and plates are big enough to share! We will make this a regular spot!

Not the best, not the worst. All around just an average meal at Casa Mexicana in Rice Lake. Location on Main Street with a parking lot in the rear. Casa Mexicana is highly recommended by locals as being very good food. My boyfriend and I had yet to try their food and thought it was high time we did. Service was great throughout our visit. Upon arrival we were immediately greeted and seated, no wait here. From there we had 3 servers ask for our drink order. Then continued to come by until we placed our food order. I asked a few questions about the vast variety of items on the menu since this was my first time. Our primary server answered them and provided some recommendations. Overall very attentive and pleasant. Food was pretty average. The free chips and salsa were good. Salsa comes in a small plastic craft and you pour as much or as little as you want. Generous chip refills. We also ordered a small guacamole to accompany our chips. I honestly didn't love it. Which is sad because I don't meet many I don't love. The guacamole had a lighter green color and smoother texture which made me think they might add sour cream to it. I'm not certain but not a fan. For our entrees, my boyfriend ordered Enchiladas Sumpremas and I got the Pollo Mexicano. Enchiladas Sumpremas consists of 4 corn tortillas with one chicken, one ground beef, one cheese and one bean. They are topped with red sauce, cheese, lettuce and sour cream. My boyfriend was not a fan. He said the whole meal lacked flavor and did not finish his meal. I tried a bite and have to agree. My Pollo Mexicano was ok. It was chicken breast with seasoning, onions and jalapeno peppers. It came with 3 flour tortillas and rice and beans. It had flavor but was nothing special. I wouldn't order it again just because there are so many other things to choose from and it certainly didn't stand out. Prices are rather reasonable for the portions you are served. Based on price and the variety offered on the menu I can see why this place is appealing. It's also the only Mexican restaurant in town unless you count Taco John's. I personally will not be rushing back anytime soon but if you're in Rice Lake and are crazing Mexican it's an ok option.

A surprising gem in small town Wisconsin. As good as any mainstream Mexican restaurant in the twin cities ..

Best restaurant in Rice Lake. Big portions, reasonable prices, quick service, great taste. It can get busy around dinner time.

Food: This is probably the best Mexican around. I ordered…read morethe chimichanga and it exceeded all my expectations. I would highly recommend, especially because it comes with rice and beans. The beef inside tasted very authentic, not to mention delicious. my Sister also got the burrito and enjoyed it a lot. It was very big. The complementary chips and salsa are also a highlight because it's the only salsa I actually like. They also have a small complementary topping and dip bar where you try all kinds of different salsas and other dips and also grab lettuce and limes for you entrée. Over all: food is 9/10 Service: As soon as we walked in a waitress came up to us and seated us. We did not have to wait. She asked us what we wanted to drink. We both got water, but it had lemons in it so it felt fancy. We got our drinks and we're able to order fairly quickly. After we ordered our meal also came very quickly. Our server was very nice and smiley and we got checked on a few times. (Once when we went here our server had this really cool mustache and it honestly just made the whole experience better.) over all: service 9/10 Ambience: The environment is very nice, like if you dress up fancy, you wouldn't feel out of place but you also feel it wouldn't feel out of place if you dressed casual. It doesn't feel cramped but it also isn't overly big. They have lights on the ceiling that moved to the beat of the music that's quietly plain, which is very neat. The fake plants on top of the lights dangling down at a very neat effect. Makes me feel like I'm in Mexico! Over all: 9/10 Over all: Would highly recommend La Authentica (especially the chimichangas) whether your dining alone on a date or as a family

We have been there numerous times. The food was always excellent. They serve real coca cola which I…read moreprefer.
