[[HIGHLIGHT]]Welcoming, clean with plenty of seating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Food was delicious. Service was fast and friendly. It is kind of hidden if you don't know it is there you could miss it. I am not a fan of refried beans as I don't find they have flavor. The refried beans here have flavor.

3 asada tacos. chips and queso

many things. [[HIGHLIGHT]]it felt like a subway in there. wasn't my favorite seating. and very cold. it's 1 degree outside and just about the same inside. subway vibes.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] the food was so good. let me be the bird chirping in your ear, singing get the damn chimichanga. non negotiable. the tacos (i didn't try) but looked good and my friend liked them. he tried mine tho, the chimichanga, and he was like damn that's better then mine. queso is exactly what you expect. thank goodness server was very reserved and cold. and quiet. made it uncomfortable at times. but he's just doing his best and that's okay. it's hard out there. i get it will be coming back again, you just gained a loyal customer.

High quality food. I would give 6 out of 5. They had every option of authentic meat, and all were delicious and well cooked. I recently had shrimp ceviche in Milwaukee which was watery salsa with a few small pieces of shrimp. Their ceviche was loaded with shrimp, avocado and fresh vegetables. This will be my must stop on the way to Hayward.

This picture doesn't do the food justice.

What a wonderful little joint to eat at, if I lived closer to Rice Lake I would be eating here weekly at an absolute minimum!!! Would I be even fatter? I'd guess so. Would it be worth it? YES!! Outstanding authentic Mexican food at a very good price!! I'm over an hour away, but I will be back and very soon!! Friendly staff and the best salsa bar my fat ass has ever seen in MN or WI, it includes at least 5 house made sauces (the white sauce was amazing) all of the sauces were very good. But to have cheese and sour cream included on a salsa bar is unheard of in my vast experience as an elite food reviewer! I had a a bowl with both Al Pastor (amazing and full of pineapple) and barbacoa (also very good). I ordered some Pastor to go for my smoke show sexy wife and it warmed up perfectly hours later!!

Steak burrito - no rice. $15.99 and comes with no sides!

You walk in and order at the counter, seat yourself and they bring your food to you at your table. There were a lot of workers there eating lunch, that tells you the food is good. I saw a lot of lunch plates and they looked amazing. They also have a small buffet of items and wasn't sure what that was all about? I went for the steak burrito and asked for no rice in it. Why in WI does every Mexican restaurant add rice to burritos (gross)? The burrito was $15.99 omg so expensive! And it wasn't even a meal! I noticed after sitting down I didn't have silverware, so I looked around and noticed a small buffet bar in the back corner with sides and found my silverware. Not sure what the buffet was for or if it was included in my meal. I did not take anything because I had no clue? Didn't take long and there it was - I looked down and the burrito was covered in white cheese sauce. Why when you order Mexican food in Wisconsin they cover it in cheese sauce (ugh)? All I tasted was that salty cheese sauce, I couldn't taste the burrito! I would stop again but order something else and ask to not cover my food in salty cheese sauce! So - still searching for a real burrito in Wisconsin!

This is a great place to load up on seafood, beef, and chicken on Thursday nights - 3.5 stars…read more The buffet is open on Thursdays and Sundays. Thursdays is by far the best night because that's seafood night. If you like crab legs, you really get a good deal if you go on Thursday nights. You can load up on crab legs, various versions of shrimp, oysters (usually), scallops, mussels, calamari, and last but not least - frog legs! If I go to my local grocery store in the Twin Cities, 2 frozen crab legs are 10 bucks. So it's a bargain to eat all of these crab legs (and the other stuff) for a meager 22 dollars. Of course, they also have sliced roast beef at the beef carving station. There's another version of beef & mushrooms in the self-serve area. They have roast chicken too. The salad bar area is pretty decent. I usually hit this first. It's easy because there's never a line for the salad bar. Then I wait in line for the meat items. One thing I want to mention is that the employees are all really friendly. This is amazing considering how incredibly busy it is and some of the customers are a little rough around the edges. There's one particularly skinny little dude that I usually see running in & out with food that's very friendly and funny as hell, cracking jokes with customers. I always say "hi" to him if I see him. There are a couple of things that keep me from giving out 4 or 5 stars: 1. The dessert area is a little light in variety and low in quality compared to other buffets. They have pies, bars, small cake pieces, and a soft serve ice cream machine. But all in all, there's isn't nearly as much variety as I usually see at buffets and they aren't that great. 2. Since smoking is allowed in the casino, the whole place is totally permeated with cigarette smoke. As a guy that grew up with second hand smoke, this whole thing is a little nauseating. It seems like nearly everyone has a heater in one hand and a brewski in the other hand. 3. The line is usually very long. The buffet room is pretty small and I'm amazed with how well they do with the space they have. Nonetheless, the line is a pain. If you're hungry and if you're close to Taylor's Falls, check them out! -Daddy Maxx Retro

She always talked about it and would eat here any time she was back in the area. I hoped to visit with her someday. She was supposed to go in July 2025 with some family, but was sick and not able to make the trip from her home in KC. Unfortunately she recently passed away, and our family gathered in Wisconsin for her memorial service. Pine Ridge was so gracious and accommodating and opened early for about 30 of us to visit and have grandma's favorite fried fish experience after we had her service. It was unbelievably good, and I now know why grandma loved coming to Pine Ridge all those years. Nothing better than being with family enjoying amazing food. The staff was so kind and accommodating, the restaurant was beautiful, and none of us left hungry. Until next time!

We only visit a few times a year, since Pine Ridge is a highlight of our vacation spot, which made this visit even harder to swallow. The restaurant changed ownership recently, and based on this visit, that change has not been for the better. Things started oddly: before we'd even ordered, the host came to collect our menus, asking if we already knew what we wanted. We said yes since we're regulars, but in hindsight, that was the start of the problem. We then waited over two hours for our entrees. Our waiter explained they were slammed with large parties in the front room, the same parties who'd been given our menus, and who ordered and were served before us. We flagged down the owner about the wait. He called my mother-in-law "love" and said, "well, we're a very popular restaurant." When we mentioned we'd been coming for a decade and never experienced this, he replied, "if it only happens once in 10 years, that's not bad," adding, "at least your food will be fresh." It wasn't. The au gratin potatoes are usually a generous, reliable side but they arrived as a single small spoonful, looking unappetizing. The owner's explanation: "it's just missing a little paprika." The prime rib and green beans were cold, and the pork chop was overcooked. When we raised these issues with him again, he claimed he'd already apologized. He hadn't and we reminded him our menus had gone to the large parties, who got their food first. We understand restaurants have bad nights. But the owner's lack of respect and rudeness is why we won't be returning. Others may have a fine experience but if anything goes wrong, don't expect anyone to make it right. It'll feel more like "you get what you get."

Everyone found something on the menu that was of interest: rib eye steak with potatoes lyonnaise, grilled pork chops with fries, chicken kiev with fries, grilled walleye with steamed broccoli and one of the specials pork saurkraut & dumplings. The waitress was friendly answering our questions. The offerings at the salad bar was modest but everything was fresh. The entrees arrived just as we finished the salads. I had the pork chops which were thick cut and grilled just right to be juicy. It was delicious with or without the applesauce. Based on what the others said... The steak was substantial and cooked perfectly to medium rare. It was a tiny bit tough but was delicious. The chicken was hot and buttery while the fries were plentiful, toasty and well seasoned. The walleye was fantastic. She asked for grated parmesan to season the broccoli and it was brought out very quickly despite a busy dining room. The pork was moist, tender and flavorful. With drinks (some iced tea, some alcohol), the meal was a bit over $20 per person with leftovers for the next meal. Great meal and we all agreed we would dine here again.
