The owner is fabulous. He helped us repair our alibrijes at a very reasonable price and the store has great craft items for sale.

Very nice Mexican artifacts at agreeable prices. Check out their alebrijes! Very nice quality from the Zapotec Indians of Oaxaca.

We had such a wonderful experience working with this florist for my grandmother's funeral flowers…read more After calling several places, he was by far the most helpful, accommodating, and kind. From the beginning, he stayed in contact with me, answered my questions, and even texted me throughout the process, which made everything feel much easier. My mom and I traveled from Texas to the Bay Area, and he took such good care of us when we arrived. He patiently showed us all of our options, helped us make decisions, and was very reassuring during an incredibly difficult and emotional time for our family. Planning funeral arrangements while grieving can be overwhelming, but his kindness, professionalism, and genuine care made a real difference. He is a wonderful business owner, and we are so grateful for how he treated our family and helped us create something beautiful for Granny.

What I got was a lovely young lady Shayna who was so nice and willing to take and deliver my order even though it was a little farther than they deliver. I told her what I was hoping for and she made adjustments to my order. When arrangement was ready for delivery she sent me a picture of the finished product as I had requested. Delivery was on time and I couldn't be happier for the total interaction I received. I completely endorse Solano Flower Shop and all who were involved in preparing my order for a special family. What beautiful flowers!

I love the gift shop as well. There are artisan crafts that will make the perfect gift or addition to your home. Staff is fun and helpful as well. Please see the photos below. Pricing is above average for a higher end product across the board. There are sometimes pop ups here as well like Japanese street food or dessert in the afternoon and early evening.

As a customer of Flowerland for several years, writing the following brings me no joy. I was there…read morethe other day and saw a pair of gauntlet gloves. There was no price. I asked; the woman behind the counter looked it up and answered: $42. That seemed a bit expensive, so I checked online. While checking, the same woman comes over, sits down next to me, and asks, "Can I tell you something? Small business can't compete with Harbor Freight," then gets up and leaves. First, her statement to me was incredibly condescending. I'm almost 60 years old and know how businesses large and small work. She didn't need to scold me like I'm 5 years old. (FYI, Harbor Freight doesn't even sell any gauntlet gloves.) Did she honestly think she'd either guilt or shame me into buying their gloves? Did she think that was a good tactic to engender customer loyalty? Second, I'm all for -- and do -- support local businesses, even if it means paying a little bit more. As I said initially, I've been a customer of Flowerland's for several years. In general, if an item seems expensive, I check online not only to compare price, but to read reviews, in this case, for the particular brand of gloves. If an item has 4- and 5-star reviews, perhaps it's worth the extra price and I have made such purchases in the past. I've certainly knowingly paid more for their 1-gallon plants averaging around $22 whereas I know that many places sell 1-gallon plants for around $15. Third, in this case, this particular brand of gloves was about four times the typical cost of other gauntlet gloves I saw online. As I said, sometimes I'm willing to pay more to support a local business, but that does not mean I'm willing to do so unconditionally at any price -- especially for things like gloves that, no matter how good quality they are, will eventually wear out. Gloves are disposable, commodity items. (The seams at the fingertips are always the first part to wear out.) If that woman is independently wealthy, works at Flowerland just for fun, and pays any price any small business asks, well good for her. Some of us, myself included, are retired and are living off savings. From now on, I'll stick to Berkeley Hort, Orchard Nursery, and others where I have never been condescended to by any member of staff. Oh, and Berkeley Hort's plant prices tend to be better anyway.
