Ana Flowers & Gifts resides in a small sidewalk portable (similar to a drive through coffee spot) and is filled with ribbons, flowers, and cards. While her winter Covid-impacted selection was on the smaller side, she made us a beautiful bouquet of blue and pink flowers and took the extra time and care to wrap them and add a lovely ribbon. I've always loved Ana's for her Lilies, she gets up early and finds and brings back excellent flowers. I bring them home as a surprise and my wife is always pleased. Ana did my flowers for my April 4 wedding. They were absolutely beautiful. Ana was the first vendor that I found for my wedding and over the six months of planning she was an absolute angel in helping me. I had several consultations to describe what I had in mind and after the second I asked Ana to do a trial centerpiece. She did exactly what I asked for and I decided immediately that it wasn't what I wanted. I went back to the magazines and online pics to find more of what I wanted and Ana totally adjusted to my requests. The week before my wedding while I was busy finalizing details with all of the other vendors, Ana took the time to call me saving me the bother of calling her to finalize. She delivered my flowers right on time (even though the entire bridal party was late!) and they were absolutely gorgeous. I have relied on Ana for all my flowers for years. Most recently, I asked her to create a bouquet for my wife's Nursing Program graduation. It was right up there with the best of her arrangements. You just have to stop and stare. I carried the bouquet into the Paramount Theater and was standing in the aisle looking for a seat when an usher approached me. I thought she was going to ask me to move. But, she simply had to know where I got such lovely flowers. She couldn't stop talking about it. Absolutely love this cute little shop!!! I was stalling on picking out someone for our wedding flowers, since I don't really have any favorites or must-have's or anything like that, but I knew I wanted flowers, I wanted them to look great, and I wanted them to be purple. I searched Yelp for reviews on florists both here and in Reno (where our wedding was to be held), and I felt more comfortable ordering flowers from someone in person rather than on the phone or over the internet. The previous Yelp reviews were great, so I though I'd walk in and see what I thought. Ana and her husband Roy are absolutely delightful. We came in on a Saturday afternoon, and spoke at length with Roy while Ana finished up with another customer. They both totally put us at ease, and while Roy entertained my fiance with stories, I went through my flower order with Ana. I was worried about how well they'd travel in a car for 3+ hours, and then sit in a hotel overnight without a fridge, but she was wonderful. The flowers were gorgeous, they looked just as fresh on our wedding day as they did when we picked them up 36 hours earlier, and they still looked great for days afterwards too!! She did such a great job picking out flowers that would complement my dress. Loved the flowers so much, we're getting her to re-do them for our local wedding reception too! Generally unscrupulous business practices with horrendous customer service. I ordered an 18 pink rose bouquet for Valentine's Day 2014 from Ana's Flowers & Gifts. I was told that it would be delivered at 10 am on Valentine's Day. After calling that morning to confirm, I was told that it would be pushed back to 1 pm. I called thereafter roughly 5 times and left messages when no one picked up the phone. Dilapidated and partially worn out flowers were sent at around 9 pm, roughly 11 hours late; moreover, they were not in a bouquet but merely flowers haphazardly thrown in water. My messages were consistently ignored on Valentine's Day and throughout rest of the week and the weekend. Nearly a week later she finally picked up the phone and acted entirely beguiled and feigning no knowledge of any messages. I've never dealt with such poor service at a florist's shop. We stopped in here after a fabulous dinner at Kiku and browsed her smaller flower shop. We loved chatting with Ana and her knowledge of flowers. I intended to buy a few flowers for my wife while we were there. Ana did something for us like out of a movie. She showed me some lavender roses and asked me if I liked them and I said yes. She continued talking to us while she cut and wrapped up these roses. I asked her how much so I could pay her and she offered them to us for free. I took them as it meant a lot to my wife and me to accept this nice gift from her. It was a touching moment to receive these flowers without expecting anything in return. Anna is great and has a great eye for design, lovely flowers and a nice atmosphere. The problem with her business is customer service when things don't go well. We hired Anna for our wedding, it was very simple we needed many leis and this was all arranged months prior to our ceremony. The day of our wedding and when I was handed my bouquet, I was sitting in my limo and wanted to dieeeeeeeee when I saw the bouquet, I cannot believe I paid 95.00 for a few roses, not even a dozen and wound up and tied with stems hanging out in the bottom. I could have done a better job myself! To top it off we needed 24 Hawaiian Leis, the carnations on the leis were closed tightly they were not open and they were stiff, then, to make matters worse, instead of the usual lei string or floss used, was substituted by BLACK thick TWINE!!!???? Oh my God, even before the ceremony they were falling apart. I won't go into how sad my bridal lei and my husband orchid grooms lei looked, we tried to arrange them in any way to have them look nice for our wedding pictures. We could NOT wait to take them off!!! My husband is from Hawaii and we had several family members from Hawaii and other states there whom were also recipients of leis and it was totally humiliating. The leis did not survive the reception and by night fall they were THRU. Usually leis have a life of at least a week, when done right. When I called Anna to see what could be done since she was also hired for our 2nd reception which was schedule the following Saturday. She never offered any restitution in product or monies, I was appalled. She did say she would throw in a new bridal bouquet and the one I received Saturday was much nicer, but still, not worth 95.00. Thank God she made the centerpieces looks good. Anna indicated her frustration with the carnation florist for our leis and told me that she noticed the carnations were not ready to be strung...so why didn't she call me to let me know? I could have decided right then and there on an alternative. She also said she asked about a partial refund from the flower vendor, and here it is a little over a year since our wedding and still NADA. Anna may be a great artist, but as a business woman of a very successful floral shop, she has failed greatly. 3 stars and what could have been 5 if she had better Customer Service and some customer compassion, especially on my wedding day! read more

It was a cold, drizzly Easter Sunday. My partner & I were housesitting for a friend while we were looking for housing ourselves, in Berkeley. We were facing a big move and some other obstacles; it was a stressful week. I got news that our friend was coming in rough from her trip. We tidied up, did some marketing, made the house nice. Oh! And flowers! I thought. She's had a long, heartbreaking, very rough trip and would love to come home to flowers. But on Easter Sunday? What the hell's open on Easter Sunday in an area we don't know at all?? We were driving home from the market in the rain, and I saw flowers on the sidewalk in front of a recessed storefront. An open florist! We pull over, walk the block up and were met by vibrant colors and bright fragrances. And then we were met by Roy, as bright and vibrant as the flowers. We're telling Roy (charming & knowledgeable!) our sitch, and Ana comes out. She heard what we needed; her first pick was a sunflower. Perfect! On the right course, Ana set herself on the mission of a welcome home bouquet of flowers will tuberose and other bright, good-smelling things. She bustled about while Roy chatted us up. Fantastic guy. I noticed a small, potted gardenia n the shop and commented on it being tightly -budded and thriving. We moved to the counter where Ana was putting the finishing touches on the flowers. The perfectly charming, sunny, sweetly-scented bouquet came in right at out budget and showed NO signs of skimping. My friend thought I'd spent considerably more. And Ana gifted me a blooming gardenia from her secret stash--an extra blessing! Maybe Ana & Roy just liked my & my partner's matching hats. Maybe they like Easter. But my guess is that they love what they do so much that their joy in it as well as their dedication to each other and their business permeates everything in the place. I love going to Ana's flowers. She and her husband, are so lovely together. I buy flowers for my mom, but other than that, I really had no personal interest in them. They're expensive, they don't last, they die etc. But my mind and heart was changed on Mother's day of last year. On my way home from work, I decided to stop in and grab my mommy some flowers and ran across these AMAZING peppermint carnations. It wasn't a mix bundle, it was just purely perhaps 2 dozen carnations of maybe 18 stems, or haha just a lot! for $20 and they lasted almost 2 months! Every week that passed, didn't seem to effect the carnations, and I was so impressed. So now, I love and appreciate flowers like I never thought I would. Particularly these Peppermint Carnations. And I love Ana's flowers existing! I also think it's important to support their business when there isn't a particular holiday also. So any chance I get to buy their flowers, I try too. And they're so INEXPENSIVE, and they get their flowers for local growers, and their flowers are grand quality and last a very long time. Even longer if you know how to treat your flowers right. So. It was my girl's graduation, and I had no idea what to get, so we had a mini consultation about my budget and what colors she likes and where she's graduating from. I am very grateful to Ana for helping a stressed out bride with a last minute request. Initially, to save money, I was trying to put together the flowers for my arch myself, but then I realized it was not that easy. Two weeks before the wedding I decided to search for a flower shop to put together two bouquets to hang on both sides of the arch. Ana agreed to do the work and I was very impressed. I sent her a photo of what I had in mind and told her what color of flowers I wanted to use. This is not a review about the quality of the flowers. Sunday at around 12:30, I arrived at the shop to buy flowers. I had been driving around Berkeley, trying to find open flower shops. I was attempting to go to the flower shop on Solano but when I got there, I realized the Solano Stroll was on so -- no parking! I found Ana's shop on yelp which, as indicated, was open until 6pm. I drove there only to find the store closed! No sign or a note saying they would be back soon, or that they are on vacation. I called and there was no message saying there would be closed. So frustrating! I left a message but nobody bothered to call me back. Unreliable management. Avoid this place if you believe, like me, that time is money. read more

I think the previous reviews are all fake. I've been to this shop twice and both times very disappointed. They are in my neighborhood so I thought I give them a second chance and what a mistake. The first time, I arranged for some flowers to be sent to company function. They never arrived. When I called to inquire, I was told that the owner's husband, Roy was too tired to deliver. What?? Too tired? You have to be kidding, right? What kind of business stops delivering because they're "tired'?? About 4 months later, my fiance decided to use them for our wedding (despite warning from me). They had promised a low price for the arrangements so she agreed. Since my mother in law was handling, the flowers, I don't have all the details. What I can tell you is that the flowers arrived, late, dying and wrong! My wife could not believe it. Nothing promised was delivered. It seems they had gotten our order mixed up with another party? The flowers don't even look like they are designed for a wedding. What they were for, we don't know. We just know that EVERYTHING was wrong. A phone call to them the next day was filled with frustration. Ana, the owner said we needed to talk to her husband. Yes, this is the same guy who was too "tired" to deliver the first time. Conveniently, he was not in the shop. In fact, he was never in the shop for the next week or so. In the meantime, the owner, Ana, would not speak to us. Instead, telling us we had to talk to the husband as she does not handle the finances. Finally, I had to go to the shop and demand to talk to Roy the husband. Of course, when I showed up at the shop, he was there. But he was never there when we called. How interesting. More headaches followed. After a long discussion, he agreed to give us only 25% of our money back. He says the flower were delivered and we accepted them. Can you refused flowers delivered to your wedding? Is that even possible? At this point, I just wanted to get something and leave this disaster. He promised to credit our card but claimed the machine was not working properly. When I asked for cash, he insisted he did not have enough in the cash drawer. I agreed to the credit but didn't leave without getting his cell number. Needless to say, we still have not received our partial refund. It is now 2 months after the wedding. Every call to the store was the same story, Roy is not there and Ana won't handle it. Calls to the cell came with excuse after excuse of why no refund was available yet. Machine is down, bank was closed, too much traffic, can't leave the store, credit card machine repair man was late, credit card operator was rude....on and on and on. Nothing but excuses. Bottom line is that these were the most unreasonable human beings I have ever dealt with. Not only will I never use their services again, I get a sick feeling every time I drive by their store. I am graduating from a Respiratory Therapy program today, and for reasons I won't divulge, I was on a hunt for a lei for myself...literally yesterday! It was Valentine's day. I had just found out that my wife was going to be working from home instead of the office where I had previously ordered her flowers to be delivered. So, I canceled the order with the Fremont florist and remembering the little flower shop I often drive by and always seems to be open, decided to call Ana's. I prefer to do business with local shops instead of the wire services. I figure that doing business directly keeps more money in the local economy. Roy took my call a little before 8:00 am. I explained that I needed a beautiful bouquet of flowers for my wife and that they had to be delivered during the day. He promised me that this wouldn't be a problem since we live very close to the shop. So I picked the arrangement from a picture that was on the website. There were three levels of arrangements, I picked the premium level because I wanted something special for my wife. The total came to $80 including a $6 delivery charge. This was double the price I had seen through some of the wire services...but when one chooses to support a local business, it is usually more expensive. I was ok with this. The attention to detail that he seemed to keep with regard to instructions where to leave the flowers if my wife wasn't home also made me feel good about my choice to go with Ana's. All day long I was expecting a text from my wife to thank me for the flowers. It never came. I got home a little later than usual and my wife had made a great dinner. I checked the front stoop to see if the flowers had been left out there. Nothing. I then checked the back porch to see if they had been left out there. Nothing. We ate dinner...then my wife brought out my and my four year old son's presents. And looked at me with a forced smile when I said that I had ordered something and asked if she had received it. She said she hadn't received anything. At about 6:00 pm, I called up Ana's and Roy answered. I asked him where the arrangement was...he said that it was going out on the very next run by the delivery person. That they had been really busy all day and with the day's rain, everything had slowed down. Around 7:00 my wife was now openly crying and I was getting more livid with every minute that went by. My wife's mouth was saying "cancel whatever you ordered"....but her tone and body were basically saying, "you forgot...after everything I did for you, you forgot about Valentine's day, I knew you would forget and you didn't disappoint me." My marriage has bigger problems that we are working through...but this stress is not what we needed...not tonight. So, at 7:10 pm I call up Ana's again. This time someone else answers and she asks, " how can I help you?" My response, "I placed an order with you for flowers to be delivered to my address. They are still not here and it is affecting my relationship now." Her answer, "We can't have that happen. We are so sorry"...then the phone gets covered and I hear very muffled voices...then.."what was the address?" Then..."what is your wife's name"....then I say, "I need the flowers now...I can come pick them up if that makes this faster." More muffled speech... Then, "yes...you can come pick them up...please give us 20 minutes." I get there walk in and I say, "I'm here to pick up an order for _____________" They all turn to some youngish looking person who is not Roy. Who then walks a vase with the arrangement around the counter and puts it on a table where Roy is sitting. I looked at the arrangement which looks small and I say, "Is that the premium arrangement?" I was paying $72 and expected something a little bigger. Roy answers, "Yes, the regular only gives you two roses but this one has five."....the picture I had seen on the website of the regular arrangement looked fuller than what they were handing me. Ana sees my displeasure with this whole thing. But the fact of the matter is that they can't even fathom that my wife is home crying because she thinks that I don't care enough to do something as simple as this ahead of time and is turning this into a litmus test of my love for her. Roy then rings me up and charges me the full $80...which includes the $6 delivery charge. I make him take off the delivery charge and leave there thinking...I gotta tell someone how messed up this day has been. Next year if I have someone to buy flowers for...I won't be going to Ana's. Nice people who overpromise and underdeliver and do not know how to make amends. read more

I love this place. Ana and Roy will treat you like you're family. Ana is so creative and sweet, and Roy is the friendliest flower salesman in the world. I love buying flowers from a family-owned business instead of a 1-800 internet company. They add personal touches, their flowers are beautiful, and they are very reasonable. read more

I went here for a last minute balloon shopping for a baby cousin who was turning 1 and thank god did they have the balloons I was looking for. The people their were very nice and it was convenient since it was only up the street from my relative's house. read more

I ordered Valentine's Day flowers via Teleflora for my wife and Ana's Flowers was the local florist that was to deliver the flowers. What a disaster that wont end! First off, my wife never got her flowers on Valentine's day. The following day Roy from Ana's Flowers called her and apologized for not delivering the flowers and states that it was a rainy day and they were busy and his delivery guy didn't get to it. He then asks her if they can deliver the flowers on the 15th - obviously my wife declines and Roy agrees to give a refund. On Feb 20th I call Teleflora to follow-up and they tell me that they DID deliver the flowers. After I explain what happened they agreed to give me a refund. On Feb 23rd Roy from Ana's calls my wife again and start yelling at her because now he claims they did deliver the flowers but left them with "someone" outside her office building. My wife is clearly frustrated and hangs up on the idiot. On Feb 24 I call Roy from Ana's to request him to stop calling my wife, refund my money, and send her complimentary flowers to make up for this mess. Again this idiot start to argue with me. On Feb 25 I call Teleflora to check the status of the refund they they now claim it's under research because the florist is showing the flowers delivered. I've now disputed the charge via Amex for obvious reasons. I would not recommend Ana's unless you have no desire to get your flowers and enjoy arguing with some obnoxious loudmouth who can't keep his story straight. BTW - Still no flowers. read more

I chose Ana Flowers for my wedding from all the wonderful Yelp reviews. The reviews are right, Ana and her husband are friendly and welcoming and ready to work with you no matter how small your wedding is (unlike other florists who only do big weddings). All I needed was a bouquet, a boutonniere for my groom and some flowers for my flower girl. I didn't have anything else since it was a city hall wedding. I will say that I'm glad I didn't have anything bigger planned as Ana did not prepare what we had discussed. I said I wanted pink roses and my bouquet was all white roses. Thankfully I didn't have brides maids with colors to match as it might not have worked. The bouquet was beautiful and it worked fine but I really wanted pink. I would say if you use her for your wedding be very specific and confirm your order before the wedding. I thought I was specific but I didn't confirm the order closer to the date and I wish I had. read more

I received a delivery yesterday for an anniversary. My boyfriend is long distance so it must've been ordered online so basically sight unseen, so perhaps there was a mix-up. The arrangement arrived at my work as I was leaving at 4:30, it is pink and includes carnations & mums (ugh), and either a 5 year old put it together or someone bought a bouquet pre-made in those plastic things at Safeway, cut off the bottom of the stems , and stuck it in an FTD vase. There was no thought, design or care put into this arrangement. I will inform my boyfriend to never order from here again. I'd be embarrassed to send something this poor of quality from my flower design shop. read more

I have gotten flowers from Ana's 3 times over the past couple of years. Just wanted to say something nice about them because every experience with them has been great. Beautiful arrangements. The one we have right now has lasted all week. I usually call ahead and have them delivered. The delivery has been on time down to the minute. They have been very helpful on the phone and in the store when I have been ordering flowers. read more
