There are the usual choices of pasta and pizza, and also numerous specials which are constantly changing. There is plenty to please all tastes. This is not a swanky, poncy Italian, go round the corner to Nonna's if that's what you're after. It's much more authentic and more like the sort of place you might discover on holiday in Italy.

The interior manages to be cosy without getting cramped, and the ambience in general is very relaxed and inviting. I would never normally have trekked up to Walkley for a meal, but it's well worth it in this case (just hop on the 95 from the town centre, there's a stop right outside the restaurant!) The food has always been excellent, last time I went was about 3 months ago, I had a pepper stuffed with chickpeas, vegetables and herbs smothered in a creamy spicy sauce for starters and an excellent sea bass for mains accompanied by fresh roasted vegtables and mixed salad. It was so nice I am thinking about it now! The place is not licensed so BYO , there are 3 off licences within yards of the place, you have to book because it's not very big and gets a full sitting most nights.

Taking a seat at a small square table a waitress took our drinks order and left us to browse. Before she departed she made sure to mention the daily specials were which gnocchi and ricotta cheese and spinach canaloni. The menu had a nice variety of Italian basics, to start I had the garlic mushrooms and a seafood spaghetti. My friend had the garlic bread and ricotta special. My mushrooms were perfectly garlicy with the right amount of seasoning. The waitress offered to sprinkle cheese ok top..yes please! The mains also arrived with great presentation and mine had plenty of seafood. Everything tasted fresh, including the homemade pasta. After snaffling these perfect portions we ended the meal with a passion fruit cheesecake and tis Maria coffee. Overall this is a quaint Italian , with basic decor and close knit staff.
