They need more grills. There's no enforcement if you rent the pavilion and other people are just…read morerandomly there. They also don't allow alcohol. How can you have a picnic without alcohol? This is America, we want to relax with a burger and a beer and this hurts no one. Absolutely ridiculous.

We love the parent and child swings although one of them are super squeaky. There was so much to do with this park. We saw people playing basketball on the super nice courts. We saw disc golfers. They were other kids at the playground, even at dusk. It was very close to a residential neighborhood, but everybody seems super nice. I think there was a dog park too? It was huge so we didn't explore the park very much because it was dusk and we needed the kids to get some energy out. My kids asked to go back when they woke up today out of all the things we're doing, so it's definitely memorable!!

I finally made it to the GRR airport viewing park! I've known about it for a while and we recently…read moremet up with our friend and his 4 year old to have lunch and watch the planes. The park is located off Kraft Ave, just south of the airport. It was recently renovated, with a big shaded pavilion, picnic tables, benches, restroom facilities, drinking fountain with a water bottle filler, and the weirdest vending machine I've ever seen. (It had sippy cups, baby bottles, wipes, and a video doorbell in it...??) There is a ton of parking, so you can just drive up and sit in your car to watch the action, or you can do what we did and bring a picnic lunch and sit at a table in the shade. There are some grassy areas where kids can run around too. It was very quiet and peaceful when we were there (aka not crowded), but in the summer they have food trucks every Wednesday and apparently it gets really busy then. I thought this place would be really fun for our little buddy (and it was), but I honestly had quite a bit of fun watching all the different planes taking off and landing. Next time I'd bring a pair of binoculars!

Great park, lots of different areas-- a pond, trails, an agility area, nice indoor space, both indoor and outdoor hose off areas. Nature lovers and birdwatchers will adore it here. Last year, we even spotted a bald eagle! Super cool! Definitely worth checking out.

This review is mostly for the event facility at Roselle Park, as we recently attended a baby shower…read morethere. The building itself is beautiful, and seems quite new. The high ceiling and natural light made the space feel large and welcoming. I was a little alarmed by the large totem pole in the corner of the building as it had some faces that seemed a little scary to me, but I don't think any of the kids even noticed. They even have a little "scavenger hunt" sheet so you can try to find all the different animals and figures carved into this tall structure. There is plenty of parking, although we ended up in the lot closer to the silos, which was a short walk to the building. (According to their website, this lot is actually now closed until the beginning of June.) The silos were a cool feature of the park, and they actually have rock climbing walls on them! I saw some kids climbing and tried it out for myself - unfortunately I definitely wasn't wearing the proper footwear, but it's something unique and cool that I haven't really seen at many other parks. There is a small play area here for kids. I'd love to come back again later this spring to check out the trail down to the Grand River. There's a canoe landing at the park which is great for summer. The whole park covers 240 acres! I'm sure there's lots of great wildlife spotting, so I'm looking forward to doing some birdwatching here soon.

I was looking for a place to take my dog after visiting Your Pets Naturally (local pet store on…read more28th street) and ended up at Burton Park. This is a huge area full of meadows and wooded areas and lots of looping walking trails. Dogs are allowed and must be leashed, so it was the perfect spot for my dog to get some exercise. When you arrive, it feels like you're pulling into a housing development, but there's a small parking lot that leads to the trails ahead. I saw so many mushrooms and wildflowers and chipmunks. Wear bug spray!
