This review is mostly for the event facility at Roselle Park, as we recently attended a baby shower there. The building itself is beautiful, and seems quite new. The high ceiling and natural light made the space feel large and welcoming. I was a little alarmed by the large totem pole in the corner of the building as it had some faces that seemed a little scary to me, but I don't think any of the kids even noticed. They even have a little "scavenger hunt" sheet so you can try to find all the different animals and figures carved into this tall structure.
There is plenty of parking, although we ended up in the lot closer to the silos, which was a short walk to the building. (According to their website, this lot is actually now closed until the beginning of June.)
The silos were a cool feature of the park, and they actually have rock climbing walls on them! I saw some kids climbing and tried it out for myself - unfortunately I definitely wasn't wearing the proper footwear, but it's something unique and cool that I haven't really seen at many other parks. There is a small play area here for kids.
I'd love to come back again later this spring to check out the trail down to the Grand River. There's a canoe landing at the park which is great for summer. The whole park covers 240 acres! I'm sure there's lots of great wildlife spotting, so I'm looking forward to doing some birdwatching here soon. read more
