Tire is holding air so back on the road....until...the bolt came out. We limped it in and while changing the tire found a local. He recommended Willette's. We had no choice... Boy a was I glad we made the choices we did. Rolled into this service station and they got us in and done in under 30mins. The only "No Parking/Tow Away" sign was attached to the fence of a private residence behind the public sidewalk. Under Washington law, a private impound applies to vehicles on private property, while a public impound is authorized by law enforcement or another public official with jurisdiction over the public property. See RCW 46.55.010 and RCW 46.55.080. I have not found any Cle Elum ordinance authorizing private residents or tow operators to reserve or tow vehicles from otherwise unrestricted public street parking. Rather than explaining any legal authority, the driver simply told me to move my car after backing up with lights on posturing. Bummer for him, I had a bad day and am a lawyer, but also too tired to confront a wanna be cowboy. I moved my vehicle because it wasn't worth risking an improper tow, but the experience was unnecessarily hostile and intimidating.

They answered on the first call. I spoke with their dispatcher, explained what was going on and they said they could have a truck to me within 30 minutes. Sure enough, they arrived in about 20 minutes. Two really friendly folks hopped out the rig, got the car hooked up and towed me and my car back to my house. I was so impressed I scheduled directly with Drew, the driver, to come pick up the rig on Monday at 10:30 am to take it to a dealership. Sure enough, Monday morning about 10:20 am she called to let me know she was around the corner. I had left the keys with the vehicle and instructions to deliver it to Titus will in Parkland. Well a couple hours later I receive a call from Titus Will Tacoma asking me why my vehicle was there. I was curious myself. I contacted Drew directly, she reached out to the owner of Cascade Towing and within about ten minutes. Drew was on her way to move the vehicle to the correct site, no complaints, no arguments, no extra charges, just, sorry for our mistake, pleas let us fix it. I have to tell you, I can't say enough good things about these guys. I mean, how many Titus Will's are there? Quite a few last time I checked, mistakes happen. Leading up to Friday before Labor Day, I was running on very minimal sleep that week due to caring for my mother who has stage 4 breast cancer in combination with working all week long as a health care provider. I was finally able to take time to myself and get away from the city to decompress and made my way to Cle Elum for a weekend camping trip with family and friends. While trying to find a place to set up camp, the river was dried up and I probably had no business driving off road while sleep deprived which led me into a sand ditch. I felt like a horrible person because I created this disaster for my friends and family to deal with at the beginning of our camping trip which could've been easily avoided if I wasn't so stubborn and just let someone else drive for me knowing I was very tired. Lesson learned. Mistakes and accidents happen in life, that is why there are towing companies available to help get you out of messy situations - in my case, a sandy one. After being stuck for 5 hours, you become desperate and vulnerable. During my frantic cry for help to local authorities and other tow companies, they either said they couldn't come because they were unavailable or didn't know if they could help (since I was stuck off road and their tow truck may not be able to drive down to me where I was stuck in the sand). Scott showed up and I literally cried when my car was finally pulled out of the ditch. It was a hard tow but Scott didn't give up, he was very persistent in getting me out of the ditch. He was very helpful and understanding throughout the entire process. I felt like an idiot and he wasn't judgmental at all about the situation I got myself in. Out of the kindness of his heart and being a Good Samaritan, Scott decided he didn't want to charge me the full tow price which was a huge financial relief to me as a single mom to two special needs children. He restored my faith in humanity and I can vouch for him by saying he's sincere and caring. He derailed all negative stigmas surrounding towing companies on this day. I feel forever indebted and truly thankful for his services. I hope anyone who travels through his jurisdiction requiring a tow reaches out to him first because he deserves to be successful in his towing business as an honest, trustworthy and compassionate businessman.
