I have future ambitions to take on the MST, so going for a walk here gave me the opportunity to experience and complete a small section. The terrain varies from pavement to dirt to boardwalk and just about everything imaginable between that. There are offshoots and side trails along the way for added adventure. Lake views, fishing, bird watching, and an otherwise unexpectedly deep immersion into nature. Yet another incredible green space just minutes from town.

My son and I started this 5.7 mile round trip trail on a Sunday morning around noon. There is a…read moresmall lot right in front of the entrance and another lot across the street that is smaller. It took us a little over 90 mins to complete. It is mostly easy. The paths are clearly marked. You're near the lake, which offers nice views during the walk. There are a few points along the trail where you're able to get close the lake. I would be cautious as several parts of the trail have large roots. We both tripped up several times throughout. On the way back, we saw about 4 deer, which was pretty cool. The trail also goes behind several nice houses. I was surprised the homeowners don't have a gate up, but the houses were nice to admire. We enjoyed it! There are several other trails close by too.

They do have a few trails but it's not fancy like many big state parks. If you're looking for a clean, well taken care of park this is your place. It's also easy to find and they have plenty of parking. The restroom was clean and the grounds clean too. There were people fishing too.

We had a hard time finding out where to actually start. Also, it has grown over in some places, so try to dodge the briars along the way. Also, there are a couple of entrances, so take a look at the pics with this review and check them out ahead of time! All in all, though, we had a good time just enjoying the fresh air and shade!

There's the upper loop walking path which is quiet, peaceful, and scenic. You can get your exercise in or find a bench and soak up some rays. It's especially beautiful during the fall foliage! I also love the pond with the fountain and ducks, and they allow for fishing as well. And of course there's the historic tree! They were renovating the deck this most recent time we went, but normally you can stand inside the hollow of the tree. Such an amazing sight to behold! There's also picnic tables and a nice playground structure for the kids. My only complaint is the playground is fully baked in the sun. It could benefit from a canopy overhead for some shade so the equipment doesn't get blazing hot.

Went on the greenway on my bike on Saturday afternoon and thoroughly enjoyed every but of it. I got…read moreon the loop at W Fisher and N elm and went counter clockwise. To begin with i was riding pretty much through the side of the road. Then after a while it turns into the undone part of the trail, which even in broad daylight made me a bit uneasy and had spidey senses working over time. Once you get off the undone part though, it was gorgeous. The paved road is perfect to bike on, with great sculptures all along the pathway to keep you looking for more. The road itself was super smooth and it offered a nice mix of inclines and declined which made for a great workout Sadly I got a flat at E Bragg and Arlington so i had to walk back to my car after that, but I will definitely be back next time (will skip the undone part this time though) to finish this beautiful loop!
