I was excited to find an eye doctor close to me, so I booked at the Coupeville location despite the negative reviews. Unfortunately I'm still be looking for that local eye doctor. I'm hoping my review can provide additional clarity and context on their practices, so that they can improve, because it's clear a lot of people are being misled and extremely inconvenienced by this place. I agree with what people say about the staff. It is definitely not a warm, welcoming place. That's not a big problem for me as I'm not the chattiest person myself, but it's definitely not the "island" feel you'd expect as a local. I want to make it clear that I don't blame the staff. They are clearly working in a difficult environment with upset customers, so I hope that whoever is in charge can help improve this. Now, getting to technician Ashley -- that's where I decided the place is not worth any investment of time, and left after ~7 minutes. We go back to the exam room, and things start normal. I'm a new patient but I came well-prepped with my prescriptions, etc. I start to talk about my contact lens needs and things get unhinged. This must be a sore subject with Ashley. She turns to me, glares, and says we will not be doing contact lens exams today, that's an entirely different appointment. This was surprising to me, because I've been visiting eye doctors for over 30 years now, and they all do a glasses/eye exam at the same time, and there was never any disclaimer up front that they wouldn't. And why does Ashley seem so hostile about the subject? But that's fine, I told her I was surprised because usually eye doctors do the exams at the same time and she says "you're not even wearing contacts and we have no way of knowing what your prescription is". Meanwhile I was carrying my prescription in my hand, which I had just showed her. Keep in mind I don't have any contacts to wear because I ran out of them. I told her this, but I think this is where Ashley trip-wired because I didn't fit into her list of excuses. After listening to a bunch of confusing sentences about why this is a totally unusually, unreasonable request for me to make, I called it. I simply told her that I'm going to leave because this is very strange. My guess is that this place tries to get by on volume vs quality. I'm sure there are enough first-time people coming through that are misled by the reviews. Note that most of the positive ones are for different locations, but the Coupeville ones generally have something ranging from strange to unhinged. I do hope they improve their practices. It's no doubt a horrible place to work, and I feel bad for the staff. I'll keep checking back on the reviews in case they improve eventually! read more

I have been a customer for about 30 years Part with the Whidbey Vision, then with you folks after you took over. This last visit (Aug 05th, 2025) I had you swap some lenses from one frame to another (from a matching pair that was in good shape. You made the swap and ordered a new set of glasses over $300.00. You kept my good sunglass lenses and when I asked for them back you said they didn't have them. They said I was wrong, and they did not have them and if they did, they must have gotten thrown out. The resolution was you can have 20% off a new pair of glasses. Will cost more to replace than what 20% will be. I felt I was being treated like I was trying to cheat them. Good bye Cascadia Eye. Whidbey vision would not have done this to a customer. read more

Not very responsive to online requests: I've asked for a copy of my prescription; I've asked about the cost of replacement lens for glasses I purchased there. No response either time. Their lens replacement guarantee is 1- year--I think they use a lens coating that is inferior because mine started wearing off after a year, whereas glasses I purchased online have lasted more than 3 years (and counting!). Less than average service at relatively high cost. read more

This was my first visit to Cascadia Eye Care in Coupeville. The office is very welcoming, and the staff is friendly. The only downside was that my appointment which was scheduled for 10:20, although started on time, I did not get out of there till 12:00. I asked the front desk receptionist if this was normal, and I was told it was not. There was only one doctor on staff that day. The other thing that I was surprised by, is that the technichians are doing all the eye exams, including putting the drops in to check the pressure and also dilating the eyes. Then I was taken to another waiting room, while my eyes were dilated, waiting for the doctor to see me. He then checked the eyes for any type of problems. It was a bit concerning to me that the doctor was not the one doing the actual eye exam for my prescription. read more

I was visiting the island and had an emergency and Dr. Gordon and staff generously agreed to stay open past closing time to accommodate me. I found staff welcoming, Clare the tech to be friendly, efficient, and highly knowledgeable, and Dr. Gordon himself was kind, thoughtful, and thorough. read more

I lost my sight a little over a year ago to a genetic corneal disease. After 4 surgeries, 2 on each eye, I can see 20/25 in each eye. Not bad for being 69, and seeing better than I did when I was 40. I don't know about you, but seeing is pretty important in my life. Being blind was a good lesson, and I'm glad it's over. Dr. Pereira is the kindest, most dedicated doctor I've met in my life, and, it seems, the most competent. The staff went above and beyond to help me regain my sight, and I am grateful. I'm also grateful to the people who died, and donated their tissues, because I see the world through their eyes. Please, add this to your driver's license, so that little old ladies like me can see again. read more

Don't trust your eye health to this place!! This office is ran by the seat of its pants! They should seriously consider closing it down. Office staff is completely lacking in empathy and enthusiasm, they are truly a very depressed and angry bunch. The equipment is way behind the times so instead of diagnosing and treating things in a one or two appointment time frame you will be going back for many many expensive appointments until they get it right. There are way better doctors and offices to trust your precious eyes to. If I could only give zero stars to this place I certainly would. read more
