Parking is ample, and it seems that despite the leisurely air of this Setor das Clubes, where the residents of Brasilia come to unwind, you're bound to find yourself in the middle of something popping here. There are several varieties of each type of dish, for example, you can get rice with chicken or carne de sol (sun-dried beef) or even whole grain if you're health-conscious. There are plenty of tempting seafood offering, surprising for the interior, but I prefer to stick to the staples: rice, beans, meat with legs. I especially enjoyed the eggplant and the caramelized pineapple, as well as the tender leg of lamb prepared with rosemary. I can't say I was amazed by a risotto-like mixture that was featured. I was impressed by the novel system of recording the weight of your buffet choices on magnetic cards, rather than on paper tabs. The patio area outside is a bit fresher and less crowded (with hammocks!) than the tabled inside area, and eating outside is a possibility once you've registered your plate in the buffet area. Also, unlimited free bananas at your table could never be a bad thing. If I were awarding stars just for the quality and value of the food, I'd be inclined to go with 3, some of my choices just didn't overwhelm me with flavor and freshness. I do understand how quality can sometimes suffer in a place that serves the masses such as Mangai, nor did I regret anything I put on my plate. However, the super casual, convenient atmosphere, the large selection, which is sure to provide you with at least one satisfying choice, and the incredible desserts make this chill spot one worth returning to.

The variety of food is always changing and just darned tasty. Make sure to go up to the steak window and order a filet or two. This well seasoned meat will satisfy the hungriest of people. You can also fill a plate with salad and hand it to the girls that will dice/chop up the salad for you and put it on your plate. I didn't think anything of it until I tried it and I really like how they manage to dice/chop it down to edible sized pieces. Staff is always friendly and if you are here long enough you can get their frequent diners card for each visit. I always just used one of my colleagues cards to get them the extra stamp.

This place does Brazilian BBQ of small chickens. The dining room is huge. Like gigantic so this place can hold a lot of people. However, at lunch there were not many people here. The tables are made from thick wood and come in various lengths so they can accommodate just about any size group that walks in. But first for appetizers they bring potato salad, regular salad and some spicy salsa for the chicken. There is also a pasta plate with meat sauce. It was kind of off putting being in a large group and everyone having to use their forks/knives to dig into food on common plates. At the very least they need to provide some serving spoons/forks/tongs with the various appetizers/chicken. Then comes the chicken that is on an about 12" square metal hibachi type grill with the chicken already cooked. They bring along plates of more cooked chicken to throw on the hibachi as you eat through your chicken. Napkins were on the sparse side and they kept taking my napkin away. Eating chicken is a messy finger food and I felt they could have provided a lot more napkins than they did. Unfortunately, as I stated in the prologue, me and half my team had to leave after about 15 mins. It was enough time to get some chicken and the ones me and my teammates had were dry. I guess it is hard for a large restaurant as this to serve a smaller number of seats but the chicken meat was way overcooked and very dry to the point of being inedible for me. They also didn't bring water so even harder to swallow down dry bits of chicken without water. The appetizers were okay. But in the end it cost us R$57 a piece and it just wasn't worth the money. The service was great. Our waiters took real good care of us while we were there. But the back of the house needs to not put out dry chicken.

The waiter promptly offered me a drink and after bringing it, he gave us the space to decide on our order. I ended up ordering the octopus ravioli which was fantastic, specially if you really like octopus as I do. My brother ordered their specialty, the carbonara spaghetti done in a wheel of parmesan cheese. It was delicious too. To be honest everything was very good, from service to food. We are definitely scheduling a new lunch date there. Totally recommend the place. One more thing: they actually got the meat right, which is quite unusual here in Brasilia.

I've had meetings with…read moreseveral people this week and every time we walked by this place they pointed out that this is a cool spot and that I should go try their kebab. I learned that this is a popular lunch spot, but even busier during the evening and the wee hours of the morning...think midnight snack! On my last evening I didn't have dinner plans and due to the set-up of the city, you simply are not able to walk around and explore the area; as a pedestrian you are stuck inside your quadre. So, I had the choice of dining at the hotel (meh), go to the nearby chuarraceria (too much effort) or hang out with the locals at this place. Obviously I opted for the latter. Once I got there I walked among the tables to see what people were eating. Well, to be honest, most people were not eating at all, but were chatting away over copious amounts of chopp (typical ice-cold Brazilian beer). But a few people were eating away at what looked like a wrap - this must be their famous shawarma! So this is what I did: I went up to the counter, ordered a shawarma (carne) and a chopp. The person who took my order then asked me to sit down and shortly after I received my beer and a few minutes later my shawarma followed. And to be honest, it didn't look very exciting. But...it tasted really good. Especially when I generously sprinkled some hot sauces over it...yummy! This is when I wished I would've been here with one of my local experts: I wanted more! The shawarma was excellent, but didn't really fill me up. But, communication is difficult if you don't speak Spanish...errr Portuguese...and so I opted for the universal sign language: bringing my hand to my mouth and performing a drinking motion...the next chopp followed swiftly!
