Twice I have purchased policies, one for my home and one for my car. Both policies contained dangerous provisions that should have been disclosed in advance. "American Summit Insurance Company" insures mobile homes. They will offer you every coverage imaginable. After you've just paid the first renewal and your payment has cleared, they seductively notify you they have pulled fire coverage from the policy. Of course, instead of a refund, they back-stab you with a premium increase for the next renewal. "Progressive" is a popular auto insurer. They make all kinds of smooth promises about how great they are, and all their customer services, and other BS. What they WON'T tell you is they offer ZERO customer service in the event of a claim. They make no effort to contact their insured, meet with him to review evidence or even take a statement. The responsible party can make a fraudulent claim, as in my case, where they took a 25 mph, non-injury fender-bender and submitted a bill to Progressive for $30,000.00 for every kind of imaginary physical injury conceivable. With no word to me, they promptly cut these crooked bastards and their attorneys, Hastings & Hastings, a check for $30,000.00. Meanwhile, the crooks at Insurance Office of America boldly advertise they "advocate for our customers", yet when I contact them about the handling of my matter, all Cynthia had to say was, "Call Progressive. There's nothing we can do about it." In other words, "advocates for our customers" is just one more great, big, fat lie from Insurance Office of America. And remember, in contract negotiations, failure to disclose a material fact is the same as committing fraud, such as failing to advise the policyholder he is limited to three claims, irrespective of the life of the policy, before he's suddenly cut off! Deal with all of these dead-beat cheats at your own risk. A very wise man once told me, "Insurance companies' blood runs colder than ice water." Truer words were never spoken.

The agency has the ability to write policies with multiple companies, I'm told by the support staff, but they never took the initiative to do so on my behalf, they just kept passing on very large premium increases. Today I moved my last policy and felt liberated. After 35 years with Farmers I have to say its a good feeling. To end I'm trying to find something good to say: I did appreciate the support staff who were always very polite. Update: I updated that though Farmers had all of my policies, Scott's office only had a portion. The plan was to move them all to Scott's office. Two months went by and I reached out to the agent again who responded that he was on vacation and that another office staff member was now "working on it" Unfortunately for my family of two teacher incomes $650 a month for car insurance isn't sustainable. Unfortunately, we went with this as he's local and we figured we'd get good customer service as a result. We were wrong and it cost us almost $1000 more than we should have paid.
