Although it was about 6:30 pm on a Friday night, we did not have to wait for a table, and were seated immediately by the very friendly host. Our server was Serena, and she was AMAZING! She was courteous, efficient, and knowledgeable about the menu, assisting us with our questions about particular menu choices. She was very kind, and when we asked to change our salad order (we'd missed the seasonal offerings), not only did she cheerfully make the change but congratulated us on our choice. The food was SO delicious! We split the Blackberry and Goat Cheese Salad (with Champagne Vinaigrette), which was incredibly fresh with flavors that melded together perfectly. We also split an original-style pizza, which was half Combination and half Nature's Choice (vegetarian). It was a great way to enjoy a variety of toppings, and everything was marvelously tasty! The prices are reasonable, and the ambience is perfect for a pizza parlor--lively, but not too noisy. We really enjoyed our time at Minsky's and will definitely be back on our next trip to the "Northland" in KC!

The waitress was friendly and helpful. The overall look of the place I think they're going for is dingy dive bar and it definitely had a weird smell (not of food). I ordered the mini papa Minsky's thin crust and a small Minsky's + Joe's BBQ pizza original crust (this speciality pizza they don't do other crusts I was told). The papa Minsky's is a pretty decent standard issue pizza, with the roasted peppers adding a nice pop of flavor to break it up. The winner for me was most definitely the Minsky's + Joe's BBQ pizza. They actually use Joe's Kansas City BBQ sauce and burnt ends! I actually got to try and enjoy Joe's about two weeks ago when I first came in so when the waitress pointed it out this seasonal offering (I believe she said it was limited time) to me on the menu, it was a must have. Normally, I frown on most things that are "fusion," but this definitely worked. The nice smoky pillowy burnt ends with the cheese, sauce, and pickles were a delight. The prices were ok. The mini was 7.99, and with several of their minis hitting that same price point, in theory you could sample more of their other pizzas to find others you may like, which will probably be my plan on a future visit. I'm not as sure about the value of the larger sizes as $17.99 on average for a small 10" pizza seems to be on the steep side (although I did have a specialty, limited time pizza). I'm intrigued enough to come back, and to have my family sample it when they visit me while I'm here.

I've been coming here since I was a little kid, back when Leo himself was still behind it all. There was something special about walking in then, and somehow, that feeling hasn't changed. It's rare to find a place that holds onto its soul like this. And the pizza... I don't even know how to fully explain it, but if you know, you know. The cheese is unlike anything you'll find anywhere else. It has this unforgettable texture--perfectly gooey, rich, and somehow it sticks to the roof of your mouth in the best possible way. It's not just cheese, it's an experience. Every bite is layered with flavor that you can't quite put into words, but you crave long after you leave. This isn't trendy pizza. It's not trying to be anything other than what it's always been--authentic, nostalgic, and absolutely delicious. Leo's isn't just a restaurant to me. It's memories, it's tradition, and it's still one of the best slices you'll ever have. Forever a fan.

The lady there said the cheese was something special, and they act kinda stuck up like they are the best thing since sliced cheese. I will never eat there again, the pizza was horrible. And me and my wife are here at pizza shoppe right now as I'm writing this review and Leo's does not even come close .
