I've been here many times. Such a gem. Such a lovely way to spend time outdoors. Try it.

Horrible fishing the other day but a relax spot if you want to sit and look at the water. Restrooms on site.

Very disappointing experience with Absolute Marine's handling of my boat's bottom painting. As a…read morerepeat customer, I followed their process by submitting a service request in March and confirming my drop-off for this past weekend. After delivering the boat, I was presented with an estimate double my previous costs and 65% higher than the pricing indicated on the service intake form that they asked me to complete. When I called to discuss these unexpected charges, I received an email stating they no longer have the bandwidth to complete the work and requesting that I pick up my vessel immediately. Abruptly canceling my service in May left me in a difficult position at the start of the season. This experience and lack of professional communication were extremely frustrating and consistent with the negative feedback I have heard from others.

I also had starting problems so they pumped out the fuel and that did not get it started. They installed a fuel pump but they used a automotive pump that did not fit, The problem is that it did not work and after 1 mile down the river the engine cut out. I had a marine mechanic neighbor look at it and he explained that an automotive pump when it fail drains fuel down to the street. Very dangerous and against Coast Guard regulations. My pump is above the battery bins. Explosions and fires have resulted. The marine pump uses a line that drains to the carb when it fails. This puts my family at risk and although they know what they did they told me to call their lawyer who after a year has still not responded... Stay away!

The two of them make a great team. It's obvious from their introduction that they love sharing their passion of sailing with others. Before we even got to the dock I was in contact with Josh on the phone and email. He responded quickly and was happy to offer some amenities. Josh offered me a few pick up locations and offered to drop us at our hotel marina. Once on the boat we covered a quick but thorough safety brief. We toured the river before entering the bay. Carmelita and Josh made suggestions for restaurants and other activities on Solomons and pointed them out as we passed them. Our tour took us around Solomons Island and under the bridge at sunset. Carmelita took pictures of us the whole time and shared them with us after the tour. It was great talking with them about how they got into sailing and how they learned their craft. The boat was clean and appeared to be sound. On the way back lighting storms were surrounding us. The light show was really cool to watch. The storm was about 30 miles so there was no danger and we felt safe the Josh and Carmelita were keeping an eye on the weather. I would definitely recommend their tour or charter service. They were great hosts and provide a memorable experience. You should book your tour now.

The loop is roughly 2.4 miles, it's paved and clean; I've never seen litter or trash lying around. The lake was also home to a historical African American community called Lakeland established in 1890. Walking the park you'll see a few plaques and markers with brief history. Many years ago the citizens of this segregated society, developed their own institutions and cultural traditions, including the area's only high school for African Americans, built in 1928. There is a Lakeland Community Heritage Project that was created to preserve its history and the stories of its people through photographic archives and now the Lakeland College Park Community Center. Thankful that this is a peaceful place to run, walk, ride my bike, or simply sit and reflect. Greenery unique to the area is the mimosa trees that bloom in the summer and the giant reed grass surrounding the lake. Parks & Planning along with other organizations also hosts activities like birdwatching and community walks . In addition to this, there is a small playground and ergonomic gym. Lovely in every season and rich in American history, Lake Artemisia is the beating heart to lots of people in the Greenbelt community. Let's love, honor, and cherish Her for generations to come! #ThankfulThursdays
