I go to this place actually 3 times a week and have always heard complaints about it. I have always defended the casino cause it has always been good to me, until tonight. The casino made a mistake (which is common) and after saying something the dealer (which has been speaking English to me all night) pretended he only knew Spanish. The guy watching the table told me the dealer only knew Spanish even though obviously that was not true. I only play Hold'em, so I can't speak for the rest of the casino. The poker 'room' has an ample amount of tables and they have a computer system in place to organize the waitlist. I waited about 2 hours to get seated as I went on an evening in the summer. People don't normally review casinos, so it's hard to find if certain casinos have table games that fit your choice of games. I do like that this casino is bigger than others I've seen in touristy areas. For foreign travelers, have your passport on hand as a drivers license or ID is not enough. read more

The extra star is for the nice guy at the door. So, its our 27th wedding anniversay and we had a great day. Decided to top it off with a late night visit to the casino. Ww arrived with ID, money etc. I have played in casinos in many countries. Never before have I been required to have my passport. They were of course safely locked up in the hotel safe. I entered the Casino Friday Oct 22nd at 10.30pm. The 4 link me machines were taken by 2 people they both playing 2 machines each. I simply ask the manager that was working if this is allowed can 2 people block 4 machines on a busy Friday night.. His response was yes if the machines set to automatically play. Ok few hour later 2.30 machines still block by same 2 people. The director from downstairs came to explain I have to wait until they are finished. Apparently these 2 people are well known and so am I so they are allowing them to play 4 machines. At around 3 pm they decided to leave while security escorted them downstairs this is the head security unfortunately they refused to give names in the casino. After 15 minutes head security and Director's together with manager working that night came to the machine I was playing and said I must leave. I said am not leaving what is the ready and what did i do. So they called for more security. I asked again what is the reason: The Director exact words to me ""I interfere with the 2 Old people playing there machines" I told him look at the Camera I have not said a word to them. Also language I speak English they speak Spanish Only I never speak with Them I only ask the manager the questions. " Director said exact words those 2 people are very special they are coming here 14 years. I was ask to leave and not come back they treated me very poorly and unfair in your system. I certainly did not do any thing wrong i have not spoken to those 2 Old people that had lie and complain about me thats a total disgrace. Am surprised no other managers had a chance to say it was totally up to security decision this was not handled properly an by having my name in the system with an unfair justice it discrimination I have not done anything wrong I came to this casino every day ... The casino is a public place there should be no discrimination and favoritism for other people clearly it's unfair to not knowing how to speak the language am totally at disadvantage. At that time the director an security said no English and must leave.. I haven't spoken to anyone or dod anything wrong... I left with still being disturbed in my mind they could not provide me with a reason or look at there camera. I hope someone will read and follow up on this incident and respond to my email just that i make myself clear I will not like this to happen to anyone else its not a good feeling... I had a nice time at this casino, so nice I almost missed out on visiting the city I came to see. During my visits I only played slots and and the table game Ultimate Texas Hold 'em, let's just say the slots were good to me and the table game were good to my bf. I really enjoyed this casino, which is quite similar to Nevadan casinos, but with a few little twists. First off- if you are not an EU citizen- bring your passport- you cannot enter without it. Also- don't go straight from the beach in shorts as I did- you will be turned away! You must 'check in' each day with your ID before entering- and the casino is NOT 24 hrs- it opens earlier on weekends, and I believe 4pm on weekdays. After all of this- this is essentially a 'Nevadan' gaming experience. Blackjack has a few twists- players can bet on any and all other players hands, the dealer only begins by drawing one card, and this effects the insurance rules when they draw an ace, etc. Otherwise, the casino is very clean, NO Smoking :-) , and quite pleasant. Food/drink options are available (I couldn't enter with my own bottle of water) as well. I had fun and would visit again for sure. read more

Casino de Barcelona is a very clean casino which is also close to the beach as well as lots of nightlife. If you wanted to go in to play some games while waiting for the late night clubs to open it's a good place to start. The beauty of the fountains is really great place to relax even if you've had too much. On the bottom floor there are mostly the table games and one of the bigger bars. It's a nice big area with a lot of action. I often saw the poker area nearly filled up. In addition there are big screen which mostly show either sports or music videos. On the main floor it is more machines and a big roulette table. There are also bars up here but they are smaller than below one. As for the staff, they are all really wonderful and helpful every step of the way. I always enjoyed coming in to a warm welcome. read more

Before 4pm, table games uses electronic money. They bring out chips after that. Black jack is played with odds that favor house more than in Vegas. Drinks are not complimentary so don't expect it. It's a casino, so you get what you expect: lots of slot machines ;) The poker room has improved a lot in recent month, since they hired a poker player to manage both their life and their online poker. You do feel the difference that the person in charge actually knows what players need. However, if you come from abroad: the rake is very high, waiting lists for tables tend to be very long (not sure why they don't simply open more tables). So, if you plan to go, check out the tournaments and the Sit'n'goes (almost daily), which can be quite fun. We had a really great time at this casino on our Barcelona trip. Not only did we win money here but they gave us free drinks as well. This casino although not huge is clean and modern inside. They don't have a lot of table games mostly slots and video roulette. It's located in an awesome spot right off the beach. Make sure you bring your passport if you want to go in and play. Also they won't let you carry any big bags or backpacks inside, you have to check them in at the front. The staff here are all very friendly and it doesn't reek of cigarettes inside because there's no smoking. Very small place equivalent to a cruise ship casino. Dealers didn't look happy to be there. Didn't know what the hype was all about. Converted dollars to euros for current rate but wasn't told until after transaction that they charged a commission also. Commission for what???? They should be giving me money to come play at their casino. Felt like they were doing me a favor to come play there, like I was inconveniencing their lives. Excellent casino with all the games and slots one expects. The poker room is quite large and the casino is air conditioned. Situated next to Barcelona beach. The only downside to me is that the blackjack tables no longer use chips but are all electronic betting which reduces the interaction and banter with the dealer and other players. read more

Casino Barcelona has the worst poker staff /managment ever. I've never been treated so poorly in any poker room and I've played in a few, not just in the US, but in France, UK and Aruba. Granted I didn't speak much spanish and my google translate didn't work in the Casino, the staff were aware of this, I was sent to three different booths to sign up for a tournament as the director would just point in a general direction I would stand in line only to pointed to a different line, stand in that line (wrong again) and then directed to another line. The only personal attention or help I got was when I sat at the wrong table, but again they had just pointed and I walked to the table # that was on my ticket. Then I was escorted to the correct table....same number just located in different place.. very odd. Getting chips was another story, where do you get your chips and cash them in. Around the corner and on the way to grandmother's house. I finally found it and was glad to leave with what a came with, such a poor experience, don't recomment this place at all. read more

This place was a great disappointment. They have a lot to learn about customer service. The entry woman was pleasant, which is the only reason I gave two stars. I wasn't allowed to call ahead to be put on a poker list, so, once we showed up, we played a few hands of blackjack. I was frustrated that I could only bet in increments of €10...what the hell is that about? If you are betting more than the minimum, why would you not be allowed to bet €25, €35???! Then once my seat was available, I took my seat and was immediately told my fiancé could not sit behind me. I was so shocked and frustrated by this that we left. This is not a tournament, this was in a cash game lolol. I play poker professionally, and have never been in a cash game where someone could not sit behind you while you played. They rake €10 in the €1/3 and €2/5 games anyways, so I'm glad I did not give them my action. Hopefully they will improve on these things by the time I return to this beautiful city. read more

Sadly this review will be of the experience that I had just steps inside the door of the casino. My girlfriend and I walked in on our last night in Barcelona expecting a great experience after checking the reviews. The two young ladies at the front checked our IDs and then looked me up and down. One of the ladies then asked us to wait while she checked if I could get in with my Adidas flip flops on. She picks up a phone and then speaks to someone for about 2-3 minutes in Catalan while the other gave me multiple dirty looks. After the call the young lady states that I need closed shoes to enter and that beachwear was not permitted. I was fine with that, until. My girlfriend and I stepped back out and contemplated me going back to our room to change shoes. Before we could even come to a decision we witnessed 3 males in the span of 5 minutes walk in with walmart style thong flip flops, show their ID and be granted access to the casino. They were not required to have closed shoes as their beachwear was acceptable. These men were Caucasians. No calls were made. Now I have to say that I don't know if this was racially or nationally motivated but it didn't sit well. It put a slight damper on the evening but it wasn't ruined completely.
