Hotel Arts Barcelona delivered one of the most memorable hotel experiences I have ever had. We've tried other luxury hotels in the city, but this is far and away my favorite. From the moment we arrived, the service was warm, polished, and genuinely caring. Every staff member we encountered made us feel welcome, but what touched us most was the kindness they showed after learning that I am a breast cancer survivor. Their thoughtfulness and a handwritten card made me feel incredibly special and reminded me that true luxury is found not only in beautiful surroundings, but in human kindness. Our room was spectacular. Every space...the bedroom, sitting area, and bathroom overlooked the Mediterranean Sea and the marina. Imagine waking up to the sparkling water each morning and watching the sailboats below - we did! It felt almost serene and surreal. I was super impressed they offer Dyson as the in-room hair dryer - that is such a nice touch! A little history...Hotel Arts was built for the 1992 Barcelona Olympics and quickly became one of the city's defining landmarks. Its name comes from the hotel's original vision of integrating contemporary art into the guest experience. Over the years, it has become known not only for luxury and service, but also for its impressive collection of modern art and its iconic seaside location. I recently stayed at the Barcelona Arts Hotel and, while the property itself is beautiful, I left feeling extremely disappointed and let down by the way a serious issue was handled. Due to an unreasonably long delay with a food order at the pool--which we ultimately had to cancel ourselves--and an overcrowded reception area where the check-out line filled the entire lobby, our departure felt rushed and chaotic. In the midst of this, I accidentally left a valuable ring in the room. I called the hotel within an hour of leaving, was told housekeeping hadn't yet entered the room, and gave the exact location where the ring had been left. Despite this, I was later informed it was not found. What followed was an unacceptably slow and disorganized response. The official lost item report form wasn't sent until several hours later--and only after my husband, who is Spanish, called on my behalf. The investigation didn't begin until the following day, by which time a full staff shift had already turned over. While they claimed to have searched staff belongings, which to me seemed to acknowledge the possibility of theft, it's unclear what that could have accomplished over 15 hours later. The entire process lacked urgency, transparency, and accountability, which left me deeply disappointed. I expected a much higher standard of professionalism from a hotel of this caliber. read more

There are so many amazing hotels to choose from in Barcelona, but we are a Marriott family so went with the Hotel Arts while visiting this past week. We spent our first 3 nights here before heading to San Sebastián and then the last night of the trip before heading back to reality. The location is along the shore. My husband mentioned he would prefer something closer to the city center so we spent a lot of time in cabs, but have a feeling we would have done that anyway since Barcelona is pretty spread out. We also walked/ran along the shore daily and loved having that beach view just right outside our hotel. The service was top notch and the hotel very much reminded me of what I've experienced at most Ritz Carltons. I think this is basically the Ritz of Barcelona. Everyone from the check-in desk to the concierge to the restaurants to the spa could not have been friendlier and more attentive. By the end of our trip we had enjoyed the bar (big fan of their raw salmon tapas), bite restaurant (avocado toast was delicious), the spa (love the private water room before the massage), hair salon (most expensive blowout ever) and lovely pool. We were traveling sans kids so the pool area was perfect for us, but think it would be a little small for my children. Our only annoyance was when trying to get a cab to dinner one night. There was a lack of cabs due to a holiday weekend + Mother's Day (Spain apparently celebrated a week earlier than the States). They weren't that helpful at the front helping us to secure a cab and was surprised they weren't able to somehow call one, but seems like Ubers and other similar services aren't as popular in Barcelona. Finally we gave up on our dinner reservation and had a lovely evening in the bar, but was still a bummer. I would definitely stay here again if traveling by myself or with other adults. I may explore more kid friendly options if I brought the kids to Barcelona, but the entire experience was as perfect as can be. read more

We chose this venue for a company meeting with approximately 150 of and made use of the main and adjacent conference rooms, the restaurant, and the grounds. It was a fantastic selection. Everything from the coffee in hot carafes outside of the conference rooms to the audio/media setup was flawlessly executed. The food was delicious and served rapidly. In this pristine, clean, well appointed environment we got down to our business. Sadly, I had little opportunity to enjoy much else but from my beautiful hotel room I could see the beach; maybe next time! read more

This hotel is not up to par with a Ritz Carlton. Overall, our several issues were addressed but we should not have encountered these issues in the first place. We had booked a club room and expected luxury service. We were staying at another hotel in the Gothic Quarter and had requested a transfer to the Hotel Arts. We gave them all information needed 48 hours in advance. We also advised that the hotel we were being picked up from was difficult to get to with narrow streets and to plan accordingly. The driver was not aware of this and had difficulty finding us. He was 25 minutes late. He ran into the hotel frantic and apologized for being late. He did not realize that It was on a narrow street and he could not drive down it. The hotel did not notify him of this. He was very nice and It was not his fault. The club concierge should have given him more detailed instructions. Our room at the hotel was dated. The sink did not drain and the wall had a tear about 8 inches across It. Being that we booked a club room, we could eat and drink in the club lounge. The lounge was very nice but the food offerings were limited and not great. We had booked a spa service as well that included 30 minutes in the area with a steam room, sauna, and jacquzzi tub. This area was all metal and did not seem very clean and even had rust in several parts. The massage therapist and facialist were great though. At the pool, we ordered lunch and our order came wrong and took over an hour for It to be fixed. The Michelin Star restaurant staff were dismissive and rude when we stopped in to ask a question about our reservation to which we ultimately had to cancel. Joan, in the club lounge concierge, had made our visit much more pleasant. He was extremely personable and a delight to work through our issues with. He is an expert in hospitality and I truly appreciated everything he had done for us. Overall, do not stay here. Stay at the Mercer Hotel in the Gothic Quarter. The area is more accessible and the staff and service are truly exceptional. This hotel does not live up to the Ritz Carlton brand at all. read more

The service at this stunning property is endearingly spectacular. After a long drive we pulled into the car park and attendants immediately tended to all of our luggage as we were escorted upstairs to the lobby where we were promptly seated in beautiful sofas as carts of snacks and champagne arrived to greet us along with a very kind receptionist who took our information and proceeded to check us in as we relaxed. We were privately escorted to our 4 rooms each of which were beautiful. Two of us attempted to use the men's spa the next morning; however, it was under unexpected repair. The attendants recognized that the women's spa was empty and closed it down to permit us time to use it and relax with towering views of the city. Great place to stay! read more

I loved EVERYTHING about this hotel! The staff were really diverse.Everyone was really attentive .One of my favorite part of traveling is the food. ...and they surpassed my expectations. Hotel food can sometimes be hit or miss. It is right next to the marina. From my room I was able to see the La Familia Sagrada. We are right next door to a casino and many food options. There are several bars throughout the hotel. You will get turned around thought . You will get the hang of it (elevators) after a while. It reminded me of a cruise ship. Hotel Arts Barcelona is a nice, luxurious hotel to stay during our visit to Barcelona...and just a nice intro to all the wonderful architectures Barcelona has to offer. We had a nice, high level corner room that had a view of a harbor and the view was beautiful. Up on the top floor, the lounge also had access to food/drinks to relax into the evening/night as well. What I loved about the hotel was its location. It's located along the Olympic Village and accessible via subway (~5 min walk from the olympic village subway station. You can take T1/2 bus from the airport and transfer to subway at the last airport shuttle stop, too) or for a nice walk along the beach. Or if you don't feel like walking, taxi is always available from the hotel. We had a chance to take a nice, long stroll along the beach and eventually into La Ramblas and into La Boqueria market one afternoon and I really enjoyed the walk. It was a nice way to see the city than just taking a taxi/underground for sure. Overall, I enjoyed my stay at the hotel. The highlight for the room was also the awesome highly pressurised showers from 4 sides of the shower...very relaxing! A few things though were that...perhaps the check in area was a bit small...so they tend to have a wait around that area to check in/out, get some help like breaking down cash into smaller bills, etc and that I could hear some people outside pretty well at times (so I wondered what the noise insulation quality was too). Else, if you are in for a splurge at a luxurious, beautiful hotel, give this place a shot. You will love coming back to take a nice shower at the hotel after an adventurous day/sightseeing in Barcelona! read more

This is a beautiful Ritz Carlton property located in Barcelona. It's right by the Mediterranean sea. Stayed here for a business trip for 5 days. Ideally you would want to get a room facing the sea. Lots of tourists in June! The receptionists and concierge were very hospitable. Few issues I faced: 1). it takes a bit of time to get checked in vs the speed in the US. So I was given a free cup of coffee during my wait. 2). My luggage took forever for it to make it to my room. I had to run down to check with the receptionist regarding this matter. The system froze so the bell man couldn't receive the alert. 3). My blow dryer was broken and it took them over 3 hrs to bring me a functional blow dryer. The restaurants on the premise are all amazing. I managed to dine at Bites (quick bites), Lokal (breakfast buffet), & Arola (Michelin Star). What I noticed about Barcelona is the food is so fresh and earthy. It makes food in general taste more commercialized in the US. Every bite I take makes me want to shed a tear of happiness. Overall: the room was clean and modern. The hotel staffs were extremely friendly. The view was phenomenal from the 41st floor. A good choice for vacation. read more

We stayed here three nights after our cruise on Envirma. There were some mix ups about transportation from our ship to the hotel, luckily I was up very early and had a ride arranged to the hotel that I was told my Ritz Carlton would be on them for the mix up. When I tipped the driver, he seemed dissatisfied with the 20 € and told me: "It's 10%!" My reply was: "Well give it back then because I didn't pay for this ride!" When we checked in it was all smiles. I was told because of our Gold status we were entitled to a room with a beautiful view of the ocean...but unless you're Superman and can can see through construction scaffolding and plastic tarps it isn't possible. I went to Yelp and immediately started reading the reviews, especially about theft at the hotel. I always carry my own portable safe and locked up all my valuables! Since we're from Las Vegas Nevada my first destination was for the Casino, but we were greeted with rude staff and decided to leave and just game at home. After securing our gambling cash back in our room and locking everything up we went to McDonalds just a couple blocks down the street off the beach. We ordered on the new keyosk but didn't see there was a stairwell in the middle of the room and fell halfway down before finally grabbing ahold of the railing injuring my hand and elbow as well as pulling a muscle in my leg. Broken injured and disgruntled from our voyage we left Barcelona like our ancestors did 500 years ago with no desire to ever return. read more

People were hyping this hotel up a ton before I arrived. I expected a Ritz Carlton type stay but unfortunately it was more like the Best Western. The first room we checked into smelled like smoke even though we wanted nonsmoking. The 2nd room had a steel beam blocking our ocean view even though we paid for a panoramic view. Our bags didnt come to our room for hours. The positives is that the Gym is nice. The best way I can explain this hotel is that it is the worst "fancy" hotel I have been to. Another problem we had was that the room Keys randomly stop working.. happened to us twice. They also did not replenish our tea or any refreshments. The adult pools lining is missing tiles. It looks shambly here. Waste of money. No view from rooftop because you have some random piece of artwork in front of you. Other than the location this place was not what I thought. We arrived on time to check in and were notified upon check in there was no electricity. After about an hour wait we were then notified that they were going to move us to another hotel in the city center on Las Ramblas. We DID NOT want to be near Las Ramblas since we have a toddler and the city center is not the safest. Also, we booked the The Hotel Arts because we wanted to be on the Mediterranean and we had also booked a the club level where we could go and get drinks and snacks and just relax. NONE of this "relaxation" occurred at the new hotel . We ended up leaving Barcelona early due to the fact the Hotel Arts never called or checked in on us. The hotel arts did call us the day we were supposed to check of their hotel and literally asked my husband "How upset are you? " are you kidding me ???? We are extremely disappointed as we feel we were lied to and we believe they overbooked the hotel. read more

Not impressed with the overall hotel experience BUT the breakfast buffet is for sure 5/5! Beautiful and incredible service. Anything and everything you could ever want, they will make for you or likely have! Fresh meats, bacon, eggs, cheeses, spreads, fruit, waffles, assorted baked goods,omelet bar, dried fruits, yogurts- you name it! The hotel itself is very expensive, it's located further away from the main areas but not too far. It's also 20min from airport which is great and the bell hop will always help you get a taxi. The rooms are ok- my sheets were dirty when I arrived so I asked them to change it. We also didn't receive the upgrade we asked for per Amex. This caused a huge issue for us, as we anticipated an upgrade for such an expensive stay. We were also on the 7th floor and it was loud. You could hear the street and I hate that feeling. The rooms also had nats, little annoying bugs that grossed me out because that means something isn't clean in the room and I felt it was maybe the trash can since the bugs were only in the bathroom area that I could see...Gross! The pools although nice, 1 adult infinity pool and 1 main pool for families are small and unless you go down very early you will never get a chair. You'll need to sit in the grass...they do have a "wait list" but they never called and that was useless! The restaurant on premise is nice! But expensive. You also need to pay like 25$ a day for WIFI. Who does that? Annoying especially with how expensive this hotel is... Overall- the morning breakfast buffet is worth the stay- get it included with your stay otherwise it's about $50 per person I believe which is crazy expensive if you're not a big morning eater. read more

I was so excited to stay in this hotel when I booked it. Upon arriving no one greeted me to take my luggage and I carried it to the front desk myself. I just thought "ok no big deal". Upon checking in, I was not offered champagne which is a Ritz Carlton standard. I thought maybe Spain or Hotel Arts is different. Again no big deal (I didn't come here for a free glass of champagne). We had planned a pool day on one of our 2 days here and were really excited for the infinity pool overlooking the Mediterranean. This was the biggest letdown. The pool tiles were missing in very large chunks all over the pool. In addition there was actual mold growing on the pool and rust on the railings. It was absolutely disgusting and we stayed for 5 minutes. We decided to go to the beach instead. I'm disappointed and would recommend people stay elsewhere next time. read more

My first trip to the Mediterranean started in Spain, and at this one hotel, which is a Ritz Carlton. It was a quick 30 minute taxi ride from the main airport. ATMOSPHERE: Of course the first thing that grabs your eye is the building itself. While it's just another ordinary-looking building, the exterior skeletal design makes it a little unique with its white beams that cover the building like a protective cage. The grounds are surrounded by cool and modern art work, as well as a casino which is separate from the hotel. Just across the street is the Port of Olimpia, chocked full of boats, restaurants, bars, and nightlife. FUN!!!! We had delish paella right on the water! There is a subway station near the hotel which we utilized frequently to explore the city. LOBBY: Simply, wow. Contemporary overload! Clean lines, dark woods, beautiful everything. ROOM: #2205 housed us for several nights before we jumped onto our cruise on the Med. The contemporary theme continues into the spacious standard room with a very comfy king bed. Accent lighting only adds to the upscale ambiance. The sweeping view is what gouges out your eyes. The picturesque port, coastline, and Balearic Sea goes on forever. The windows have a blue tint to them so getting true color pictures of the views was impossible, and unfortunately there are no balconies. Some of the exterior beams impeded our view which was a small disappointment. A cool feature were the automated window shades, controllable right from the bed. TV? Yeah, there was one, but I didn't watch 1 second of tube, especially when I'm on vacation in Europe!? BATHROOM: Can I take this home please? Gorgeous limestone adorns the floor and walls up to the ceiling. The dual basins are those bowls that sit up on the counter, one thing I don't care for because they're so impractical and splash everywhere. The shower had good pressure and quick drain, and separate soaking tub, just like you'd find in a Ritz. Naturally, all the amenities are available. The shampoo, conditioner and soaps were a bit perfumey, meh. Who cares right? We're in Barcelona!? SERVICE: Everyone was professional and welcoming. We were in need of a box to mail stuff home since we were about to board a cruise and didn't want to lug our purchases along for 2 weeks. We phoned the concierge, and they found us a copy paper box. I joked to my spouse that I bet the box will probably be small, as only in America is everything super sized. Low and behold, the Spanish copy paper box fits about 5 reams of 8.5 x 11 paper rather than 10. We laughed hysterically and just went with it. They delivered what we asked for! RESTAURANTS: When we travel, we always eat outside of the hotel as we'd rather experience the local food. TIP: Things open late in Spain. Some restaurants open at 10pm, perfect for us as we love to eat late. One of the clubs we went to opened at 2am. I was like WTF?! LOL. Tons of fun though! OVERALL: Beautiful digs and outrageous views. read more

Simply Stunning.... I stayed on the concierge level, 33rd floor. They serve Cava at the reservation desk but champagne on this level....and my favorite Laurent Perrier, I'm sold. Everything is exquisitely decorated and beautifully displayed. My room on the 30th floor has breathtaking views of the plaza and the mediterranean. The rooms are very contemporary and sleek. I may be biased but we splurged for 2 nights here on our wedding weekend and couldn't be happier with our choice. This is the most money I've ever spent in my life on a hotel room - normally we spend $100-200 a night on accommodations (hotels or Airbnb) so this was a hit to the pocketbook, but we are so glad we shelled out the extra money for this hotel. If you have money to spend, or are celebrating a special occasion (wedding, engagement, honeymoon, anniversary), this is a fantastic place. Location - Located right on the beach, you exit and just a few steps away is the beach and amazing paved running/biking paths with beautiful views of the water. It's close to all the restaurants in Barceloneta and also in Born/Gothic Quarter, and Plaza Catalunya is just ~15 min away via taxi. There are a lot of great restaurants in the commercial center next door with a lot of options from a casual sandwich/pizza/salad, or seafood or fancier restaurants. We went to one called Aji that was a Japanese-fusion restaurant that was good. Room - We got lucky and got upgraded into a penthouse suite which was beyond amazing. We had the most beautiful ocean views and over the whole city. I could have spent hours just looking at the view - both the daytime and nighttime views were incredible. We had a 2 story suite with a kitchen, dining room and living room on one floor and then one bathroom and closet on the main floor. The upstairs had the master bedroom, a huge bathroom, and beautiful views. The bed was one of the most comfortable I've stayed in, and the sheets were crisp and clean. Bathroom - We had 2 sinks, a toilet, tub and a huge shower. The shower is probably the best shower I've showered in - it was a waterfall shower with 2 jets on the sides that sprayed water everywhere. It was amazing and now I wish I could have one of these showers in my house. The bath products were so indulgent - Bvlgari and they had everything you could think of. The towels were huge and really nice. Service - I couldn't have asked for better service - all the way from the reception when we checked in. They helped me with all my boxes and bags with wedding stuff, and I got a big wooden board delivered here for a seating chart and they helped me set up space in their bar so I could assemble it. When I had carry this huge board to the car and other wedding things, Claire walked stuff down to the parking lot with me. The turndown service was amazing - from champagne and fruit and chocolate covered strawberries, it was all so thoughtful. The best was the night of the wedding, they made us a Just Married Sign and had rose petals leading into the bedroom and on the bed. It was all so special and something I will always remember. Overall all, I couldn't have asked for a better experience for our wedding weekend. We're so happy we splurged on this place, and it will always be such a memorable part of our wedding. I'm looking forward to coming back here again and again. If you're thinking celebrating a wedding or engagement again, it's worth every penny. read more

My wife and I recently stayed at the Hotel Arts in Barcelona and if you find your way to Barcelona I would highly recommend taking a room there. It is not thee cheapest hotel but it is well worth the money. This was our second stay and I was once again amazed at how well we were treated. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly and very courteous. The rooms are large and well laid out and the views are incredible. We had a corner room with a view of the Mediterranean. I also recommend dropping into the bar off of the lobby. If you get there ask Alex to make you an Old Fashion. It is a great show. One other thing about the public spaces in the hotel. There are beautiful flowers everywhere, I felt like I was touring a flower show everything I walked through the hotel. When you are looking for a bite, try Shoko, It is a fusion style restaurant located on the beach a short walk from the hotel. In summary, do not miss the Hotel Arts if you find yourself in Barcelona. read more

These young professionals are friendly, helpful, and sincere. The hotel itself is lovely. Fresh, yellow flowers were artfully arranged on a consistent basis. The rooms are clean. The hotel is very nicely situated. The pool and the views are incredible. The bathroom was dirty (the wall and the floor were particularly dirty), but the room itself was fine. The low rating is specific to the breakfast at Lokal. For 42 euros per person, you get a small selection of eggs/potatoes and a display of cheeses. Yes, it was good, but this breakfast is as overpriced as I've ever seen, and definitely not worth it! The food in Barcelona is way too affordable anywhere else to pay 42 euros for a subpar breakfast with nothing special. read more

Do not waste your money !!!! I stayed here with my daughter for the past three nights we stayed in a two bedroom penthouse it was 2000 American dollars per night! It doesn't look like this room has been updated since 1992 when it was built, the floors will scratched, the furniture was beat up the knobs fell off of all of the faucets in the bathrooms, the toilets were peeling off the wall and fixed with caulking, marble in the tubs was literally falling off, oh and the bed was the worst part. I pulled up the sheets to take a look at what was supposed to be a mattress it looked like a futon, it was like sleeping on cement!! They should be embarrassed !!!!! Don't get me wrong the rest of facility was beautiful and the service was second to none but as far as this $2000 per night room believe me do not waste your money I'm going to post photos as well !! We ended up getting two rooms in town at a great place for 25% of what it cost for one room at the Arts hotel If my stay was based on the room it would get 1star !!!! Flawless service, amazing staff, beachfront location..not much more you can ask for. We stayed for one night before our cruise out of Barcelona and I wish we could have stayed longer. We arrived around 6:00 PM and were quickly greeted by the valet staff. They quickly took our luggage and directed us one floor up to check in. The entrance is very peaceful with a huge water feature spanning the length of the driveway. Once upstairs we were welcomed by the front desk staff who greet you by name and offer you a glass of cava (Spanish champagne). Hotel Arts probably has the nicest most welcoming front desk staff I have ever had. They truly are glad you are staying with them and will do everything they can to accommodate requests. Our sea view room was on the 22nd floor and had great views of the marina and Mediterranean Sea. The room was large, modern and updated and had everything you need from bottled waters, coffee maker, wifi and even a 110V adapter which was a blessing. The bathroom was very modern as well with a large soaking tub complete with bath salts, a separate shower and even a bidet. Everyone we spoke with at Hotel Arts was extremely helpful and over the top nice. This will definitely be our go-to hotel when back in Barcelona! read more

G-R-E-A-T location. The hotel grounds is beautiful, and the staff is outstanding. I couldn't walk through the lobby without someone greeting me with a smile. Everything you would expect from a 5-star luxury hotel. When you first check in, you'll be greeted with a glass of champagne. The lobby always has a bunch of snacks for you to munch on. If you're an American Express Platinum member, try to see if you can get free breakfasts during your stay. Breakfast is the same every day: assortments of aged meats and cheeses, a continental section, omelette station, waffle station, champagnes, wines, etc. You can dine inside or out! My boyfriend spent a lot of our time by the pool (didn't actually go in it). There are tons of kids running around. The drinks are outrageously pricey- $18 for a small glass of beer. You can buy a 6-pack at the local market for about $3. So we just snuck in beer we bought from outside :P The food is also pricey for what it is, but we splurged anyway. There's nothing like being served food by the pool side while reading a book! - The hotel is right by the beach. And while Barcelona is NOT known for their beautiful beaches, Hotel Arts is next to the best beach in the city! - The boardwalk by the beach consists of tons of restaurants (primarily seafood), bars, and hookah bars. - The BEST night life is right next door. Situated just behind the pack of dance clubs though I suspect the guests of the hotel aren't likely to be clientele of said clubs. Great view of the whale sculpture. read more

My wife and I enjoyed a fabulous 7 nights at Hotel Arts Barcelona Sun, Aug 29, 2021 - Sun, Sep 05, 2021 and were celebrating our 46th wedding anniversary, in addition to working with one of our companies. Our experience during this enjoyable week once again confirms why this is one of our favorite hotels in the world. The professional, kind, welcoming spirit began when our taxi arrived at the hotel early Sunday morning and continued until the moment that Federico put us in our taxi returning to BCN airport (making us promise that we would return very soon!). What a lovely experience for your hotel guests. The entire team of ambassadors were extremely hospitable and helpful, a few were truly extraordinary: Alex Mitats (Assistant Rooms Executive), Paulina Rotllant (Guest Services): Paulina is nothing short of a "rock star", Federico (lobby/bell stand),Yaiza Nuñez Sanchez (Lokal), Leticia(pool), Laia Colom (Guest Services) & Lucia Senin (Reception). We must share about Paulina...We began communicating well over a month prior to our arrival. She helped us with some many details about our trip, without once getting irritated or suggesting that I was bothering her. She was there personally to welcome up the morning of Sunday August 29, the suite was not ready, arranged for us to have a lovely café latte while awaiting the room. We were very comfortable waiting, enjoying our coffee, as we know we arrived the hotel early. Paulina not only gave us our keys but personally escorted us to the suite. As we entered our hearts were absolutely touched (we had tears in our eyes) when she took the time to decorate our bedroom with balloons and a huge "46" to recognize our wedding anniversary. Photographs attached for your review. I'm still speechless. Throughout our stay Paulina helped us secure dinner reservations, one which was at Can Xurarrades. This has been one of our top five dining experience in the world. The owner Rafa was just incredible and we thoroughly enjoyed this. We tried a very nice wine from Catalunya. Paulina found out where I could purchase this, the price and how many they had in inventory. I took a taxi and purchased them. Astonishing attention to detail and marvelous attention to detail. We stayed here post cruise in a beautiful room on an upper floor with a stunning ocean view with concierge access. We arrived early after disembArking our ship, and were able to get into our room right away. Since we were only there for one night, I really appreciated this. We visited the concierge options for lunch and again I the evening for cocktails and some pre dinner apps. I thought the upcharge for the concierge level was well worth it if you plan to spend time at the hotel. We really planned only to visit the beach and swim in the Med, then relax by the fabulous hotel pool and enjoy the area immediately around the hotel. Our room was a corner room with stunning views of the Mediterranean and looking towards Mont Juic from the other side. THe room is well laid out, spacious, contemporary in decor with a very comfy bed! IM sorry we only had one night at the ARTS; I would highly recommend this hotel if you want some fabulous waterviews, near the beach. read more

The best service I have ever experienced. The hotel staff was so customer focused. For our anniversary we have hearts in our room, flowers on our bed. The views from the rooms are spectacular looking over the ocean and the famous fish statue. The training of the staff shows!!!!!!! read more

Fantastic hotel! I've been to many Ritz hotels around the world but this one has a wonderful staff, great suites and more importantly amazing location. Highly recommend if planing to visit Barcelona in the near future. You definitely want to try their adult infinity pool designed to cater to young and dynamic couples. Had to reach arm behind night stand for outlet to charge phone, bathroom only trash can and we had to go down to bell storage to find 3 pieces of our luggage. Unbelievable, that I was actually really looking forward to my stay here, given our past stays. I arrived in the evening after checking out from the W Barcelona (which was fully booked on my last night in town), things seemed fine at first: I received an ok friendly greeting , and was given a room. But imagine my huge disappointment and shock when I went up to my room and it was already OCCUPIED!!! I was disappointed by prospect that I had to waste my time and go back down stairs to get another room, but was more disturbed that I had been issued a key to someone else's room. Fortunately, they were in there when I tried to get in and despite our mutual confusion, it was clear that they were planning to occupy this room. It was all downhill from there as turned out that was their last room and no other accommodation could be found. The only other room smelled of smoke and was not worth the over $700 it was going to cost me to stay there for less than 12 hours. Worse was the way they handled it, and treated me quite condescendingly while even admitting it was all their own fault, including having oversold the property. I am a person who often travels for work, am a longstanding member of the Waldorf Astoria Group, Starwood Preferred, and frequently stay at the Rocco Forte Hotels. For work I have spent up to 3 months at a Ritz Carlton property and spent two years working for a major pharma company, and essentially lived in hotels across Europe. Never have I experienced such an error nor the gross mis- handling afterwards as demonstrated by Ms. Jackman at the front desk. By the time I was finally able to get the front desk manager, I was already pretty upset and will never think of staying here again and just wanted a refund, as it was clear we were not going to find a solution. Fortunately, I called American Express travel services who cancelled my reservation right away, and I'm hoping for a full refund as have been assured by the front desk manager. Still was two hours of my time wasted on a beautiful vacation day not to mention my having to scramble to find another place to stay now well into the evening. So far they have not given me a refund either despite my ruined vacation in Barcelona. read more
