This review is for an event we attended in the conference center of the resort--Beyond Cancer. This was a free event held on a Saturday. It included breakfast, lunch, and several sessions with panels of people on different topics related to cancer. We met in two ballrooms combined into one room. Tables were set up for attendees to sit at. The panelists were in the front of the room. Breakfast was a continental type. Lunch, however, was healthy and excellent--flavorful, plentiful, delicious. There were plenty of staff coming around to remove dishes as we finished our meals. Large bathrooms were nearby and were clean. It all ran smoothly. I love coming here. We recently celebrated my daughter's birthday 21st birthday and she got some credit on her card for her birthday gift. There is always a variety of restaurants open and I love that. Staff is always so helpful and casino is always so clean. Security is always on top of everything. Main Hotel is very lavish; side Hotel Estrella is okay, newer, more family friendly. Conference area was straight forward and labeled well. They provide maps, it was pretty easy to get around. The service is what made it great for me. Loved the Estrella Tower front desk, when I checked in, and checked out both times staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Parking behind and in front of the building. Before I came, I purchased my stay online but ran into an issue, called, and their customer service fixed it, and were so friendly. What a horrible experience my friend, her family & I had without all of us stepping foot into this place. My friend's daughter was getting married this past March 2025 & my friend booked 3 rooms for 6 people mths prior to the wedding. She had to use a credit card to book these rooms, which I mentioned she did mths in advanced. The day of check in my friend's sister & another family member went to go check into 2/3 rooms while I was running around with my friend (mother of the bride) to find out that the hotel canceled all 3 rooms due to the CC my friend used was no longer active due to her having to cancel the card after fraudulent activity on it. This happened a while before our reservations. But for some reason when she booked the room the hotel didn't charge it for the rooms, nor a deposit. Apparently the hotel ran her CC the night before for the rooms which is odd, like who does that? The CC was denied because the number no longer existed after it was canceled prior by the CC company. My friend didn't call the hotel to change the CC as she was planning on using a different CC upon check into the hotel which you can do with hotels & her sister & her husband were going to use their CC for their room & myself & another family member had the other room that she was going to use her CC on check in. So her sister, her husband & the other family member go to check in & are told that they don't have the reservations for the 3 rooms due to trying to run the CC the night before & it got declined. Why wouldn't someone from the hotel contact my friend & inquire about this??? Like "hey, did you still plan on checking into our hotel tomorrow for 3 rooms because we went to charge your CC for the rooms & it got denied?" Um nope, no one did this and why is the hotel trying to charge her CC the day before check in & not when the reservation was made? Apparently staff was horrible! Very rude, including the manager on duty. No empathy or sympathy nor an explanation on why they run this place that way. They said they only had 1 room available but only for one night. We had the rooms booked for 2 nights and everyone but my friend (she lives in Tucson) had flown into Tucson for this wedding. I live in Vegas & out here there are always extra rooms saved for "high rollers" so you can't tell me that they had NO rooms available to make up for this terrible thing that they did to us. They told them that they came into town for a wedding. There was also some event going on in town so the hotel & other hotels were very busy. Thank God my friend lives in Tucson because that is where we all had to stay since we couldn't' stay here or another hotel close by to the venue. My friend was upset due to this sleeping arrangement gone bad & already had her plate full with helping getting the wedding together....talk about stressing her out more. It's a good thing I wasn't one of the ones trying to check into the hotel because I may not have been very nice back to the staff being rude & disrespectful to my friend's family members. It the craziest thing ever that Casino Del Sol did to all of us for this special occasion. BEWARE: this hotel won't charge your CC upon booking your reservation. You may want to double check a couple days prior to your reservation that things are still good & that your reservation is still active. I was happy not to spend any money in this place after that BS. The only good things about this casino messing up is it saved us all some $$ & my friend had family & friends' close by. It was nice not to be stranded in Tucson with no place to stay. Staff members need the appropriate training (esp. management) on how to efficiently & professionally run the front desk. Title: Terrible Anniversary Experience - Rodents, Undercooked Food, Lost Property, and Unresponsive Management I rarely write reviews, but our experience at Casino Del Sol in Tucson was so shocking and distressing that I feel compelled to share everything. My girlfriend and I were celebrating our fifth anniversary on September 25-26, 2025. I had planned this special night carefully, having finally turned of age and excited to try the casino for the first time. I had heard so much about it over the years and was really looking forward to finally experiencing it. Sadly, it turned out to be nothing like the advertisements or our expectations. From the start, our plans were stressful. We booked a hotel online, called to confirm, and were told our reservation wasn't in the system. We had to buy another, more expensive room, which we couldn't cancel due to Experian policies. Still, we tried to make the best of it. That evening, we headed to the buffet, hungry and excited. The food options were extremely limited--mostly sides--and what they did have was poorly prepared. My girlfriend ordered pasta with broccoli and chicken, made in front of her by a chef. The broccoli was hard and undercooked, and my small plate of baked vegetables, pizza, and baked potato was equally disappointing. We sat down, took our first bites, and started a conversation about how even Olive Garden or Texas Roadhouse would have been better. That's when everything fell apart. Within minutes, my girlfriend spotted at least four rats running around our table. She was terrified and ran from the restaurant crying. I looked and saw 2-3 more rodents under our table and immediately documented the incident with photos and videos. What made this worse was that the restaurant continued to operate, letting more guests in and not informing those already eating. Diners around us had no idea there was an infestation in the dining room. Despite undeniable proof, the casino staff were reluctant to help. They only refunded our buffet after I showed the video but still charged us for my girlfriend's drink. We were given no apology, no compensation, and no reassurance that they would take corrective action. The buffet carried on like nothing had happened. We left shaken, nauseous, and still hungry. Uber Eats or DoorDash were outside our budget, and we had been drinking, so we ended up going to bed hungry on our anniversary. We told ourselves that maybe breakfast in the morning would make up for it, but the next morning things only got worse. While packing at around 10:30 a.m. (with checkout at 11 a.m.), we realized my girlfriend's watch was missing. I rushed to security while helping load the truck. The handling by security was completely unprofessional: * I was told a staff member had found an item the previous night but wasn't told what it was. * After 15 minutes, another guard said it wasn't my girlfriend's watch. * They never documented the situation, never asked for a photo or description, and never offered me an incident report. * Instead, I was told to simply call back at 4 p.m. to check if housekeeping had turned it in. I then spoke with hotel manager Nicole to see if anything could be done: a refund, compensation, even just an apology. She told me she couldn't compensate me. When I explained how poorly security handled the missing watch, she informed me that I should have filled out an incident report--something security never even mentioned. My attempt to escalate to the Food & Beverage Director was also ignored. At this point, the failures were overwhelming: undercooked food, rodent infestation, unsafe dining, unprofessional security, lost property mishandled, and completely unresponsive management. It left us emotionally distressed, worried for our health, and robbed us of a special anniversary I had worked hard to plan. It's been days since the incident. I have called, emailed, and left voicemails, and I still have not heard back or received my refund. This shows a total lack of care for customers. Maybe next anniversary will be better--certainly not at Casino Del Sol, because I would never come back here again. Honestly, a night at Olive Garden or Texas Roadhouse would have been a hundred times better than this nightmare. We've since reported the incident to the Arizona Department of Health Services, Pima County, the Arizona Department of Gaming, and the BBB. The fact that the casino has yet to provide even a basic apology speaks volumes. In my opinion, this experience also highlights why we need more small businesses, because smaller restaurants usually show real love, appreciation, and quality. This is a beautiful hotel a little ways outside of town. I have stayed here for a couple of weekend events. The hotel is well kept and service is great. I haven't checked out the casino area but they do seem to always have a crowd. It is a classy establishment for sure! Unfortunately, this stay turned into one of the most frustrating and disappointing experiences I've had at any hotel or casino -- ever. Upon checking out, I noticed something alarming: a valuable Zardosi handwoven tapestry was missing from the interior cab of my truck. This was a deeply personal and extremely expensive item -- not something easily misplaced or forgotten. I realized the theft had occurred while parked on Casino Del Sol property, and though I was already driving away, I immediately submitted a contact form through their official website upon returning home. The site confirmed my message was sent -- but I never received a single reply. Trying to give the benefit of the doubt, I returned to the property the next evening to speak with security in person. The security manager on duty asked me to identify the exact parking spot I had used. I told him it was one of two spots, just three spaces apart, both near trees -- but I couldn't specify the exact tree. That slight uncertainty was apparently unacceptable. Instead of offering help, he became visibly frustrated, dismissive, and told me flatly that he couldn't do anything without the precise parking space. I was stunned by his attitude. So for anyone who assumes they're being watched over and protected by a "top-notch" surveillance system while staying at or visiting this casino -- think again. Their security system isn't just inadequate -- it's dangerous. If someone were to assault you walking to your car, it appears the best you could hope for is an apology and a shrug -- because the cameras won't see a thing. To make matters worse, the police were called, and I was then treated as if I was the criminal. The focus wasn't on solving the theft or questioning why such a serious blind spot exists on casino property. No -- instead, the whole experience became about my inability to provide a GPS pin for a parking space in a completely unmonitored lot. This entire situation was a gross mishandling of a customer issue. From the lack of response to my initial complaint, to the condescending attitude from security, to the dangerous lack of camera coverage, and finally, the dismissive treatment from local police, it's clear that Casino Del Sol and the Estrella Hotel value your money far more than your safety or peace of mind. This hotel once kicked out all guests attending a convention and gave them ONLY ONE HOUR TO LEAVE, with many of them being from out of state and having nowhere else to go if not for the convention staff finding other hotels. They cited norovirus as the reason, a foodborne illness that can be deadly to older demographics, however despite this they did not ask the casino goers to leave, and their lack of communication plus the rushed handling caused unnecessary panic thus only creating more safety concerns. When the spread of a disease was their concern, not only did immediately kicking out a large group of guests risk spreading it further, but not raising the same concern to a different portion of, arguably more regular guests, at the same time left them uninformed in a possibly dangerous situation they may have chosen to leave as well otherwise. If you decide to come here, you should do so knowing the safety and wellbeing of their guests is the VERY LEAST of their concerns, and when/if there ever is a health or safety concern here during your stay you will either be rushed out in a panic, regardless of if you have anywhere else to go, or be left uninformed and possibly at risk. I had a problem with one of the internal restaurants, Moby's was the name, went to talk to the manager, before I was able to explain the problem, he didn't want to hear it. I left and returned to speak with a different manager, spoke with her and finally explained the problem, the previous manager came up and started to bait me into another altercation, and then called security to have me removed. We were welcome to go play. No apologies for all the money people are losing? Their livelihoods highly impacted. And losing a whole day tomorrow. We stayed on the 4th of July and had a wonderful experience. The room was spacious, luxurious with a nice comfortable bed and pillows, well appointed bathroom, Keurig coffee and great views of the Tucson mountains out of our window. We also enjoyed the casino, especially the blue cloudy sky ceilings - very much like the Venetian in Vegas and the Casino was mostly smoke free. The pool area was beautiful, but we did not try it on this trip. The fitness center was pretty good, though I thought it was a bit small for the size of the hotel. I would stay here again. read more

This is a good casino. The players club signup was seamless, and there are numerous slots and tables. My only issue at the casino, was a slot machine I sat at had a lot of liquid on the console, but I didn't notice until I started inserting money. The liquid soaked my money as I place it in the machine, as well as the liquid was so saturated I could not cash out my ticket or bet on the machine. I understand the casino could not prevent this, but my issue was I sat at the machine for approximately 15 minutes and not staff member was near by to help with the issue. I eventually used some paper I had in my pocket to clean the machine and withdraw my funds. This was unfortunate, because other than that issue I really enjoyed gambling at this casino. read more

So I have been here many times my parents stay here probably every other month when they go to the doctors. this casino is great. The staff is pleasant. The food is great. The pool area is usually nice. This time I felt it was a bit dirty but that is not where I have issues with.. my father is a disabled veteran who needed a wheelchair, and the only wheelchair that this place had was a broken one with no foot pedals and a broken break. I think that they need to invest in a couple good working wheelchairs. All hotels have them. I was very disappointed this go around if it was me I would not choose to stay here. If I had somebody disabled with me I really hope management sees this and spend a couple hundred dollars on a couple wheelchairs.!!! very disappointing read more

I booked a room for four days, paid in full. Snow prevented me from flying out to Tuscon until the day after, I immediately contacted the front desk and told them Id be out there the next day. Even though the entirety of my trip was paid for in full, they considered it a full cancelation and would not allow me to check in the next day. This left me struggling to find lodging with a flight incoming. This is insane policy, the room was paid for in full, zero reason they couldn't accommodate me and allow me to check in next day. Resort is beautiful. Rooms and grounds are very nice. Reminds me of Cesar's Palace. Resort seems newer. It's clean and comfortable. Lots of amenities. Room rates are reasonable. $169 per night I believe. Staff members across the board are very sensitive and on edge. Most all of them. From the GM, to lifeguards, to servers, to bartenders, to security. They question every move you make. They question why are you standing or sitting there. Where are you going? They are in your face and very annoying. They are argumentative. They talk down to you. They treat you like second-class citizens. Really bizarre behavior. I've traveled the world and have never been treated like this before. Even Las Vegas casinos and resorts do not treat their guests this way. I like the location, atmosphere, and ambiance. Employees need to step it up and serve their guests with dignity and respect. Hospitality is the service industry. Serve your guests. Be friendly. We had an amazing stay at this resort last night and were pleasantly surprised at how grand it was for the price. It's very spacious and includes a very large pool area with 2 Jacuzzi's that I could see. A large casinos inside and the really nice bonus was a large inside area with multiple restaurants. Our room was wonderful we were upgraded to the top floor and it was very comfortable. Most casino hotel rooms do not have refrigerators so I was pleasantly surprised to find a room refrigerator. The room also has a safe. The lobby is very luxurious and nicely decorated for the holidays as well. We will definitely be returning to this resort in the near future because we feel like it's an excellent value for the money. Slots are super tight here and my friends lost a lot at pai-gow. They have a lot of slot machines but I didn't see anybody winning. I barely got any bonuses on any machines. We were looking for a roulette table, unfortunately, they didn't have any yet. They said it's supposed to come in by the end of 2021. Also, this is not like Vegas. You have to pay for your drinks even when you're playing with thousands at the table. You also could only smoke at the center bar which is the smoking section. The only plus to this place is that the Japanese restaurant, Ume, was really good when I stopped in. We stayed at the resort for the first time on Father's Day weekend. The rooms are nicely appointed and the staff was very friedly. I spent most of my time out by the pool. Once you navigate getting your towel from the vending machine gadget () you'll be ready to relax. We also golfed while there -despite the heat- and the Sewailo course was in amazing shape! Well my mom and I have been staying now at the hotel for 6 nights now. Ive only won $3 dollars and my mom has lost over $100. A little disappointed. I told the hotel desk we were a little disappointed and they said sorry. We still have 1 more night but I think Im done gambling (no fun). The front desk didn't seem concerned about us having a good time. On a positive note the room is very nice and the beds are very very comfortable. (We avoided housekeeping the whole time). Anytime we've needed any items for our room they've been very accommodating and I tried valet car service for the first time and its phenomenal! Just remember the slots are very very tight. I spun my machine 100 times and only won 3 times out of 100 spins. Oh well you win some you lose some. Oh woops I forgot another disappointment was you cant book 2 people at their spa. We had to drive somewhere else for manipedis and massages. Lastly you don't get a microwave in your room. I was sad because I wanted to heat up my neck wrap and I wanted to pop some popcorn.
