Highly recommend this wellness resort!! I was skeptical and used points for my stay but I completely understood why they have decade-long loyal customers. After my first visit, I will plan to return - it was honestly really transformative! There were alot of activities across mind/body/heart; we did a bunch of classes (improv, painting class, mindfulness, nutrition, cocktail mixing, hiking, bird watching, mountain biking, massages, yoga), worked with the rescue horses, and i even got a personalized posture assessment with personalized work out plans. All snacks, meals and non-alcoholic beverages are included. The green juices, golden milks, turmeric shooters are bottomless here along with burgers, tiny portion meals and healthy desserts. I felt rejuvenated following my visit and privileged to be able to experience. I believe they also offer day passes potentially as well. Heads up, the rooms are very dated! And for the price ($1500-$3000/nt) you would definitely expect nicer rooms but the experiences (both paid and free) really make up for it! Look for promotions to improve the value but it's definitely worth a visit if you're looking to destress.

I want to move in, and never, ever leave! Big shout out to Daniella in guest services ( love you girl!), Matt, Emelia & (omg I am forgetting her name -Maki? but seeing her face, awesome women let's call her The Storm). You all fixed me up in just two days, thank you. I was experiencing major burnout and you sent me home feeling like myself, so thank you. Chef, your smoked trumpet mushroom was awesome. Not all of the cuisine suits me but there are so many options that if you can't find something great, you are just basically being a bonehead. Love the environment, so pretty. Yes, for some the spirituality emphasis may be too much, for others may be pedestrian. For me, it was perfect. You get what you put into it. I recommend letting them take care of you and keeping an open mind. Loved my weekend and waiting for a special to return with loved ones.

Mindfulness and Spirit Miraval is a luxury wellness resort and spa that joined the Hyatt family in 2021 and just celebrated their 30th Anniversary The core mantras are on mindfulness and balance with a variety of educational classes, experiences, and activities in an all-inclusive and isolated resort set in the backdrop of the Santa Catalina Mountains Our visit to the Tucson, Arizona location was our first but a common refrain speaking to other guests is how many are repeat visitors...one guest on our morning hike shared they had come 30 times, annually since Miraval's opening Miraval has since expanded east to Austin and the Berkshires but the original Arizona location is the favorite of many This is a very different type of escape and the emphasis on digital detox and balance for the body, mind and spirit still feels novel so many years later (Oprah was an early guest in our resort wing) I'm grateful for all our time here; from the early AM desert hike to archery in the mid-afternoon sun to the most skilled and therapeutic evening massages (Neuromuscular Massage with Autumn)...hopefully, we return some day! I just came back from spending 4 nights at the Miraval and I had the most amazing time. The staff really made my trip special, from receptions staff to people who are teaching the classes, to the staff in the restaurant. Everyone was so friendly and gave me the most memorable experience. My favorite is Mina at the cactus Blossom restaurant. She remembered me every night and was always so happy to see me and my husband greeted us with so much energy and friendliness. She made us feel very special and stood out to me as the one staff that went out of her way to make my day. Overall, my stay was such a transformative experience. We spent the whole day learning about stress management, meditation, breath work. We got massages and worked out. The food at miraval is delicious and healthy. Thank you Miraval!

We stayed overnight for one night as a staycation and had an incredible experience! The grounds are beautiful, the food is incredible, the classes and teachers are wonderful! We were there in an unseasonably warm December so it was chilly at night but comfortable during the day. There were so many gluten free options and all the food (even the buffet options!) were clearly label for allergens, including gluten! I had a fantastic vegan burger on a (surprisingly) good gluten free bun! Also, I have to mention the coffee/smoothie bar! Loved it! I had an oatmilk latte (regular or decaf) basically at all times- so good! Also, the horchata smoothie was so good! We both had massages, which were incredibly relaxing. The spa area is so nice- a quiet room to relax, sauna, hot tub, showers, etc. You can hang out in this area, even if you don't have any spa services scheduled! I also had a manicure and pedicure and the ladies were so kind and did a fantastic job! (They use dazzle dry polish!) The rooms are nice as well! Cozy and close to everything. We can't wait to go back again. It's an investment for sure (check out the day pass for a less expensive option!), but we had an incredible, relaxing, refreshing stay.

My friends and I decided to all meet at Miraval and try out a Zen few days rather than the typical hurrah we wouldn't chose to do when having a reunion! It was a fantastic decision. Personally I'm not a slow down type of person so the classes I chose really challenged how my body and brain works and it was great to have that and accept that calm in my life for a couple days. The staff here are absolutely a delight. They know hat customer service is. Lynn at the front is amazing and will help you with your classes if you need at any point. It is an all inclusive resort so all food is included through your stay and they had decent vegetarian options that were good! It is a priceyyyyy resort so it's not something I'd come here for leisure unless you have money to spend and that's okay but I basically filled my schedule back to back to make the most out of my money and we also used points to book a stay here and only then I felt like it was worth it. I hope to come back one day paying full price but for now unless you don't have extra funds, it's not worth it. They have a day pass that you can look into! The spa is also extremely overpriced and before you book make sure you know the difference between treatment and massage. Class wise, you get to choose your classes beaded on the intention you're coming to Miraval! I highly recommend the horse class it really opens up a new way of how you use nonverbal ques with confidence. The staff really made my stay here and they get an extra star for that!

The food is amazing. Dinner is the only time when you need a reservation and a good part of the menu changes every night, which results in a super fun adventure with little repetition. What makes it even more amazing is that dinner is more of a tapas experience, so you can actually experience several choices at one sitting. The classes are amazing. I loved the creative photography stroll with Nancy. She took a hard subject and brought it quickly into something both fun and useful. The slack line class was an interesting dive into something I never tried before. The five-hour hike with Tika and Matthew Voss was wonderful, and the highlight was the deep conversation we all had together. I stayed in one of the villas and the architecture was stunning as were the views. On the downside... The onboarding experience was like herding cats. The website is awful. The communication was just as bad. Check in was a disaster that never happened to me anywhere else before with my luggage being tagged with someone else's name. Even parking is bizarre. A great welcome when you first get there, but super weird attempting to go off property. HINT #1: Get the keys to your car and do everything yourself. The lot is small enough that "self-parking" is basically valet. HINT #2: GPS can take you on a shortcut to nowhere coming here. Yes, they make mention of it AFTER you fail, but it would be nice to know beforehand. Basically, I found everything before going and getting there to be an awful experience. Whereas, everything onsite is basically wonderful. If you can ignore the frustrations up front, this is still a great place with great services to experience. Also, the all-inclusive nature of it is something that works really well, but is also something I needed to ask for more details on since I am used to tipping and paying for food. (Alcohol is an add-on charge)

Came during low season, end of July, so it wasn't very crowded, which was nice to help decompress from life. Friendly staff with interesting stories of the rich & famous guests, attentive service, fresh food & snacks. Spa area was nice & quiet to just take in the panoramic view of the Santa Catalina mountains. It is also monsoon season so be prepared for quick downpours. Highly recommend the celestial yoga, we were fortunate enough to catch the blood moon & see Musk's Starlink in the sky. Great place for self care & the only worries are what/when to eat & how to juggle the activities in your schedule.

The was the absolute best experience that's I've had in a long time. Miraval is an absolutely stunning place to be. The experience from start to finish was amazing. I booked last year during the Black Friday sale to go in August. Note they have a nice special for additional resort credits during that time that can be used for the spa or activities. Making my experience was amazing. Before going, I called and talked with a representative that took the time to help me create an amazing experience as a solo traveler. I wanted a bit of variety, so I did a few activities such as celestial yoga, a night time hike, afternoon stretch, morning meditation, and plenty of spa services. I love the fact that there is such a variety of things that can be done. It really felt like an adult Disney World. When I arrived to the Tuscon Airport, it was so simple to meet the driver and get my bags secured to go to Miraval. The property was probably about 40 minutes from the airport. During the ride we were given these cute goodie bags with nice treats for our stay. The most memorable thing they provided was the blank letter for you to write to yourself. In 3 months, they'll send it to you. It really was a nice touch. I could go on and on, but I have to say I loved this experience. I plan to go many many more times. It exceeded my expectations.

We decided to visit Miraval based on the recommendation of our friend, and I am so glad we listened. I really enjoyed my stay here at Miraval. We were told Miraval had promotions throughout the year, and it is best to wait for them as this resort is on the pricy side. We found a promo that needed us to make a spur of the moment decision to visit, but luckily it worked for our schedule. The resort will pick you up from the airport; it is almost an hour drive to get to the resort. Once you arrive, everything becomes so easy. The check-in was fast and efficient, our luggage was taken to our room, we were given a tour of the resort, we were able to get smoothies and snacks (it was after lunch, but they always have a cafe open), and we were encouraged to find our way to whatever activity was best for us at that moment. I enjoyed all the activities I signed up for. I think my favorite was the equine experience. I also learned so much from the skincare class taught by their lead esthetician, Kim. The hiking in the area was beautiful, the group at that time was a bit on the fast side, but they always had one person leading and one person pacing the slower hikers. They have so many classes in 3 main categories: yoga, meditation and exercise fitness. The biggest issue was that there were multiple classes I was interested in attending all at the same time! I guess that is a good problem to have. The spa also took up a bit of my time as they offer multiple services and the use of their steam room, sauna, and hottub at any time - even if you don't have a spa service. This resort discourages the use of cellphones and computers. They do offer one area for cellphone use inside the main building. It is in the bar area - and is gets the worst cell phone reception. I wonder if that is by design??? Speaking of the bar, they do have alcoholic beverages for purchase, and all other food and drinks are part of your resort fee. The food is delicious and I certainly want some of their recipes. You will need to make a reservation for dinner, but breakfast and lunch are open and available anytime during their set hours for those meals. The room we stayed in was in the 600 block. These were amazing rooms. The back door looked out to the mountains, the room was spacious and the bath included an inside and outside shower. It was just lovely. We are already making plans to go to the next Miraval in Austin, TX now that we know how well they put together all aspects of a resort: the room, food, experiences and customer service.

It has been exactly a week since my 3 night stay at Miraval and I'm still feeling all of the positive vibes of the time spent there. I went in with high expectations and they were mostly met or exceeded. I went solo on a Monday - Thursday and my sister-in-law, Alexa M, met me on Thursday for the day. I highly recommend going solo -- especially if you are someone that doesn't ever take "me" time and are constantly going, going, going. I needed the time for myself and it was the best gift. I filled my days up with activities but also took downtime to read, sit outside, get pampered in the spa, etc... it was a bit outside of my comfort zone as well, but it was great! I love that the majority of the property is device-free... it really forces you to disconnect and be present in the moment. I also appreciate that Miraval is a non-tipping resort property. One less thing to worry about so you can fully enjoy every moment and focus on overall wellness including your mind, body and spirit! Some highlights of my stay were a trail run with Neil, step class with Pam, learning about and walking the labyrinth, yoga, mindfulness at miraval with Jessica, "out on a limb" with Don, and sessions with Alexandra Nicol, Rae Jessie, and Kristin Reece. Daniel at the front desk and Adriana, the experience planner were extremely welcoming and kind. I was surprised that there was a dirty rag left in my room when I arrived and that there were a couple of spiders in my room + that housekeeping never came during my visit (perhaps Covid?). But I am overlooking those things and focusing on the positive, of which there was plenty. It's expensive but if you can afford a splurge, I recommend treating yourself... even for a day! They do offer day passes. I cannot wait to return again and again! Thank you, Miraval!

Ask the Community - Miraval Arizona Resort & Spa

I wonder if I can put together a one day package for my wife. ? Yoga, massage and floating meditation.…

You can contact them for a day pass. Massage is private so you can do it anytime but you would have to figure out when the yoga class is there are usually a few during the day…

Are there outdoor dining options? Are masks required for indoor classes/experiences? Do you require proof of vaccination at check-in?

No proof of vaccination. When I went last time which was in 2022 early in the year, they were still requiring masks in classes but I don't think so anymore.

Are any of the spa facilities coed?

The spa itself is open to all, so anyone could be in a treatment room, the relaxation area, nail spa, etc. Naturally the restroom areas and associated saunas, steam rooms, and hot tubs are separated and seem to be clothing optional.

But, there are some things to note, namely on cost: 1. There are great "summer" rates and packages available - they usually run from mid-May until just before Labor Day. 2. Valet parking is $42 a day - there really isn't another option. 3. The resort fee is $68.73 per day (that includes tax) 4. Food and drink are VERY pricey - especially breakfast and lunch (my small egg white omelet with greens on the side was $29). If you have the ability, use the To-Go coffee and bakery spot next to Core Kitchen & Bar. They are open until 11am everyday. 5. They do cater, fairly well, to gluten-free needs. Other things to note: We were in room 2805 - a beautiful, clean, and comfortable room. It was so nice to have a fire pit on our terrace to enjoy (as well as the wildlife that stopped by to say hi). Note that there is a sidewalk that runs the length of the hotel, right in front of the fire pits so during the day, it does not feel as private. The spa cabana was worth the price tag if you plan on wanting to be outside all day and want to keep cool in between soaking in the sun or swimming in the pool. It's also adults-only. The spa, itself is beautiful with every amenity you'd need for a relaxing day.

The construction was not mentioned when we booked which I would have thought to be worth mentioning in order to set expectations. Unfortunately the restaurant we did eat at left us both quite sick. I will spare details and just say avoid eating here! After spending a day on the property I do believe renovations are much needed... far far beyond just the restaurant. The entire property is quite run down. At the spa I booked a collagen lifting facial - the aesthetician asked a few questions and found that I was not a candidate for the treatment as I have had a metal disc replacement in my neck (the microcurrent technology for VENN required there to be no metal in between your face and where they ground you with a wet sponge in your armpit... makes sense - however... why was this not asked in advance? The aesthetician had to scramble to come up with another treatment option for the time slot that I had booked and essentially did a custom makeshift job so it was a "sort of" collagen lifting facial. This could have been avoided with due diligence. I will give credit to the aesthetician in thinking on her feet and being pleasant when another staff member put her in a predicament. The last thing that was a bit off putting on our visit was an elderly blonde lady in the Pilates room... she was working out and jumped up when we came in with a quite rude and loud "Can I help you?" - As if we interrupted her workout rather than us being guests of the property. I am a certified Yoga and Pilates instructor so wanted to show my sister a new move on the machine that I thought she would love. However when I asked about using the machines she told us "Management policy - you cannot use the machines" ...which also makes me wonder if she's the Pilates instructor? I don't know who else would try to implement fake rules that aren't posted. We chose not to cause a scene or question her so just left the bad energy. At least we got a good laugh about a crazy women on her high horse after! It seems that the great reputation that Canyon Ranch had is no longer - perhaps the MA property is different and holds this one up. Certainly not recommending the Tucson establishment to anyone anytime soon. We walked away from our spa day not only disappointed but quite sick from the food poisoning. Not recommended in the least.

There is definitely room for some updates. That said, the grounds are meticulously maintained, the staff are all so very helpful, and our personal experience was excellent. We had a nice, clean room with a great view from our balcony of the mountains and the pool area (thanks, Lorenza!). We enjoyed watching the colors of the mountains change during sunrises and sunsets. Your housekeeping staff were all super helpful and did a great job during our stay. We had great experiences at the pool and with all of the pool staff - everyone was very attentive and friendly. John in the gift shop was so friendly and helpful. Our restaurant experiences were all positive, and all of our servers were great. We appreciated the location of the resort relative to local hiking golfing, dining, etc.

I moved in, put all my clothes away and hung up my dress shirts in the bath to steam them. After 15 min, I turned the water off and closed the door only to return 30 min later to remove the shirts when I was shocked by roaches all over the bathtub. I quickly called the front desk and was relocated to another room. Now I had the eebie geebies..but got settled in my new room. I went to sleep - only to be woken by a stranger checking into my room. He apologized and said they gave him this room. I realized I was checked into the wrong room during the transfer and when I went to the front desk to get room keys (rekeyed)..I met someone at the front desk who could have had a more understanding attitude. The room is ok..if you look close then you can see the age of the building. By the time I got off the phone one big dude walked around the entry way of the room. The location is nice, the resort nicely located at the base of a mountainside. It is probably best to enjoy the location versus looking too closely as there are signs of aging.
